      You're right. IT shouldn't. This is a modded planet painted black with gravity turned waaaaaaaaaay up.

    Imagine some sort of stellar empire ruling with an iron fist and whenever they capture a ship they don’t even catch the crew. They just seal their entrances and then toss their ship into the black hole, where they either burn up on entry or get stranded on the “surface”
    By the power invested in me by the king and his name, i sentence your ship TO THE VOID”

    huh, it occurs to me you could totally make gas giants with the same ideas used here. only a tiny solid core, massive atmosphere purposely maxe too dense to see in.... large amounts of gravity... super high oxegen levels...

    • @Trogbane
      @Trogbane  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      that would be cool!

      hydrogen in gaseous state you can scoop. that would be neat. yet, we still dont use oxygen to burn our hydrogen so yeah...

      I agree. Time dilation would have been cool too. Given the limitations though, it turned out really neat

      Trogbane I don't see why it is hard to implement... for reals, just massive gravitational pull and make everything close to it like x and y km away turn slowly red then fade it out (make it invisible) and then despawn it.
      if you are on it have some after effects stretching the graphics towards the black hole then when it despawns kill the player...Wannabe bm? after a point just make the ui's speed stuck at max speed and stop the ship from moving, time slows down to a stop when you get sucked in a black hole so..

    i think the modder could try and something with the atmosphere, acting as the event horizon, the point of no return. like how the poison planet do corrosive damage to stuff, once in the atmosphere (event horizon), the ship will start to crumble because of the insane gravity forces. I think someone could do a script that will target point on the side and do damage to them, so unlike the corrosive damage, it will rupture blocks from the outside, then penetrating to the Insides, causing the ship to disintegrate. he could also do like the guy that made the explosive jumdrive did and just detonate terminal blocks one after the other while creating debris (like a lot)

    • @smeg7ds
      @smeg7ds 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      A ship would be ripped apart by the extreme gravity long before the event horizon, for that is where not even light can escape.

    • @mobiuscoreindustries
      @mobiuscoreindustries 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sekrit Dokuments actually it depends on the mass of the black hole. a ship get torn apart when the gravity difference between 2 points of it's structure is too high. BUT the point where the gravity difference becomes too high depends on the mass itself. see, you can theoretically go through the event horizon of supermassive blackholes (if you assume blackholes do not behave like haukins thinks and that matter is disintegrated into energy when entering the horizon because infinite acceleration being applied to the object as a whole), you will be able to progress a little bit more into the event horizon before getting torn apart, since the difference between 2 points of the structure is not that big. but if you encounter a smaller black hole, the drop in the well will be hard, and you will reach break point way sooner since 2 points of a ship are now pulled at different forces from one another.

    • @smeg7ds
      @smeg7ds 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I understand that, but anything you could theoretically create in space engineers would still not be able to survive the forces created by any size of black hole. Its only theoretically possible to go past the event horizon with a craft made of materials that we have not discovered or created yet.

    • @BankruptGreek
      @BankruptGreek 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      mansuy adrien time slows down near a black hole, so a modder could try and fake the speedometer while slowing down the craft.
      then kill the player slowly, after he is dead, I am not sure if this is plausible but make the colours of the ship red and then fade to invisible. Then just despawn the ship.

  • @DonnaPinciot
    @DonnaPinciot 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Y'know, it would have been really cool for the black hole to have a black sky colour, so you'd see the stars and such fading away as you entered the 'atmosphere'.

    • @Katvanished
      @Katvanished 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      there's nothing to fear, imagine a star that has a surface made of gravity, there is nothing special about black hole's gravity, same as when they were a star or something

    I also made a video on this and I think it's pretty cool that someone tried to do something new with what is currently in the game, even though it is not prefect.

    why does the ship burst into flames in SPACE

    • @ruphite9521
      @ruphite9521 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Because the friction from reentry is superheating the material. It’s not so much fire as it is just material melting away
