    In episode 4, when Lyn/Fourth Sister recruits Barriss, they make a point of showing the weather outside her cell’s window… it’s the exact same weather that we saw when Palpatine brought Anakin back from Mustafar to the medical center, where he fully became Vader. The same lighting, the same rain, and I think that was deliberately telling us when this was happening!
    Likewise, I think episode 6 is telling us when it is when the Fourth Sister is prioritizing the child over Barriss. To me, that lines it up with the very beginning of Rebels, the bonus scene they added with Vader giving the Grand Inquisitor the Inquisitorius’ new assignment: to hunt down force-sensitive children. We see Fifth Brother and Seventh Sister doing exactly this later in season 2. Since the Grand Inquisitor is the only one we see in Rebels season 1, I think it makes sense that the other surviving Inquisitors by this point are out on missions like this during this season, including Lyn here.

    It might be a monumental task, but I would LOVE to see you tackle the full timeline of the Clone Wars across Movies and TV. Starting with Attack of the Clones and then The Clone Wars in its chronological viewing order, The Clone Wars movie, how Revenge of the Sith unfolds across the final episodes, and early The Bad Batch episodes, Tales of the Jedi, Tales of the Empire, relevant Forces of Destiny shorts, and if any Visions shorts are set during the Clone Wars (despite their ambiguous canonicity). You could also indicate where other flashbacks to this era take place - primarily the Order 66 flashbacks in Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Obi-Wan recording his warning which appeared in Rebels.
    If you want to get really crazy you could even work in the now Legends Clone Wars micro series - which I think still sort of happened, given the familiarity of Anakin and Obi-Wan with Ventress, and Shaak-Ti defending Palpatine is still referenced in The Clone Wars' final episodes. I almost wonder if it could still work with the Nelvaan storyline pushed before the final TCW arc, and the final scene of Anakin and Obi-Wan being informed of the Coruscant attack fitting between scenes in TCW.

    I still really wish these episodes were longer, I feel like their shortness is really limiting some amazing stuff we could be seeing. I do appreciate they tried to make Morgan more interesting. And I do like seeing more of Barriss, but we just need to see so much more of them.
    Also very sad they didn't give us Barriss' number, and didn't give us more Inquisitors.
    Also also, didn't see this get pointed out anywhere, but I do like that mirror moment between Tales of the Jedi and Tales of the Empire, where Ahsoka fights in a shrinking circle in Episode 5 to prove herself to the Jedi, and Barriss fights in a shrinking circle in Episode 4 to prove herself to the Empire.

    In Legends the mountain clan is related to the Skywalker Family. Jacen Solo the son of Han and Leia (who is also the Legends counterpart of Kylo Ren so to say) had a child with Tenel Ka Djo. Her mother's family comes from the mountain clan, with Tenels great-grandmother Augwynne Djo being the founder and leader of the clan. Augwynne also had a daughter named Gethzerion. Together with another member of the clan, Gethzerion tried to kill her mother and both of them were sent into exile and founded the Nightsistes.

    If they continue this series with a "Tales of the New Republic/First Order", it would be a cool opportunity to wrap up the loose plot-threads from Resistance. If they do go the First Order route, I assume the characters chosen would be Hux and Phasma, though. It could be nice to get some context/justification for Hux's heel-turn in Episode IX.

    How i placed it in my timeline:
    Episode 1 - 20 BBY, right after Season 4 Episode 19 of The Clone Wars.
    Episode 2 - still don’t know where to place it tbh.
    Episode 3 - 9 ABY, during The Mandalorian, specifically shortly before Season 2 Episode 3.
    Episode 4 - 19 BBY, about a day after Order 66, so between Episodes 1 and 2 of The Bad Batch.
    Episode 5 - 18 BBY, sometime after Tales of the Jedi Episode 6 (which I place it in 18 BBY because of the Ahsoka novel).
    Episode 6 - 9 BBY, some time after Obi-Wan Kenobi, considering that’s where we last see the Fourth Sister.

      Since we didn't see a single inquisitor in TBB it makes more sense to me that it was after? I mean, they would probably be sent to defend Tantiss right? Unless not even the inquisitors nor Vader knew of Project Necromancer. it seemed to me that the brainwashed clones were used because they didn't have the inquisitors, Besides, recruiting them and turning them would/could take time. I personally get the vibe that the 2nd Morgan one is earlier on in Thrawn’s career, but that’s just a feeling. There might be clues looking how far along the tie defender stuff is also, because they are being built in rebels season 3, and here it’s being planned. Also, 3 BBY would mean that Thrawn and Morgan would have only known each other for like 2 years (alot of that we see thrawn in rebels for and its without Morgan), until he gets exiled to the other galaxy, so idk if that’s enough time for her to want to bring him back that much by Ahsoka. I’m not sure, you could definitely be right. And yeah the other placements make a lot of sense too, great video. Also it was cool seeing the New Republic itself and that era in animation, because we’ve never really gotten that before.

  • @TWD77710

    Great video man this is where I personally place all the Tales of the Jedi AND Empire episodes:
    Jedi 1: 34 BBY
    Jedi 2: 60 BBY
    Jedi 3: 44 BBY
    Jedi 4: 32 BBY
    Jedi 5: 22-19 BBY (19 BBY)
    Jedi 6: 16 BBY
    Empire 1: 22-19 BBY (20 BBY)
    Empire 2: 6 BBY
    Empire 3: 9 ABY
    Empire 4: 19-18 BBY
    Empire 5: 19-18 BBY
    Empire 6: 6 BBY
    So essentially for the Empire eps 1 is during clone wars, 4 and 5 are during the bad batch (The jedi being "tired" of running still works a year or so after Order 66), 2 and 6 are about 3 years after jedi survivor and a year before Rebels (I don't think that Thrawn scene HAS to be during Rebels it could be a lil earlier and it wouldn't hurt), and 3 is obviously during the Mandalorian seasons 1-2.
    Also just a thought but Tales of the Jedi ep 6 for me fits better at like 16 BBY cuz ahsoka looks really young still and I could see 3 years after Order 66 being a good whole and not the "beginning" of the empire.

And I think the Mountain Clan are brand new. Very cool to see these ties between the animated and live action, I had no idea. Very interesting timeline placements for sure. I have said in the past mind you that episode 6 must take place after the Kenobi series (which is about 10 years after Revenge of the Sith) because of well ... Lyn. I do think Barriss isn't surviving because I think they need to remind us that you do unalive from a Lightsaber and I say that as a huge Barriss fan. @MCLegoboy 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I can accept 17 BBY as a suitable timeframe for the 5th short, but I'm still more in favor of it being pretty much right after the 4th one. I'm in agreement that a few days to a week after Order 66 is when Barriss is brought to Fortress Inquisitorius, but I think she goes through additional training for another month after the 4th short ends. Everyone still has to train and spar and everything before finally going out into the field. It very much feels like this is Barriss' first time out on her own. It's not uncommon to see Inqusitors paired up, but with Lyn being the elder Inquisitor, you still have to keep the new employee on a tight leash until they can really prove their loyalty.
    And I think it's criminal that we never saw Barriss and Ahsoka reconcile. Dave Filoni said he had plans for Barriss, but it still doesn't feel like we got enough because those two have to hash some things out and really delve into what happened in Clone Wars. Now to speculate, I don't think that Barriss wanted to put Ahsoka in that situation, but it was either her or Anakin since they were the ones investigating the bombing. He's clearly too much to handle, it unfortunately had to be her friend. Barriss made a bad decision, she was trying to make the best out of a bad situation that came from it, and Ahsoka became the scapegoat until Barriss was finally caught. We get a good five minutes of the two of them going back and forth at what happened since they last met and I'll be satisfied. I don't mind that Barriss returned from the Dark Side, but if the Jedi she had been hunting was Ahsoka, that might have really broken her and made her shift back to the Light perhaps more credible. It would have also given fans that have been waiting 10 years for the followup to the Clone Wars Season 5 Finale something to really talk about.
    Tales of the Empire had a lot of potential that I don't feel was really mined. Perhaps it was the stories being told, the time constraints the showrunners put upon themselves, I don't know. These shorts aren't bad, but they're not as good as I was hoping. Dooku's Tales of the Jedi stories are still the best, and as much as I could not have Ahsoka's adventure as a 1 year old, and how much I really dislike the Practice Makes Perfect one, I do like seeing her post Jedi Purge and seeing a bit of what happened before Rebels. Because I never read the Ahsoka novel, nothing was taken away from me for something the short didn't do. Hopefully in the future for other "Tales of" series, we can have as many shorts as necessary for a particular characters story, not holding strictly to 3 and 3, but even expanding past just 6 total shorts per release, not even being crammed into a roughly 15 minute time slot. "Tales of" makes me want more in both the good way and the bad way. I want more characters, I want more time periods, I want to see what other stories there are to tell, but at the same time, I want better exploration for some of the characters we've gotten, and I want it done better in the future, too.

    • @AbitofEverything4U
      @AbitofEverything4U  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Excellent feedback. I agree, I really want to see Barriss and Ahsoka's reunion. That would be fantastic. And here's an interesting theory that another commentor shared...what if Ep 4 starts in 19 BBY (order 66) but then jumps a few years before Barriss is let out. It would allow the Fortress construction to be as far along as it is and would explain why we didn't see any inquisitors during the Bad Batch. Thoughts?

    • @MCLegoboy
      @MCLegoboy 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@AbitofEverything4U Given how much we see of Fortress Inquisitorius, and just how un-Imperial it looks in the lower levels, the construction of the large spire we're familiar with is being built upon a previously existing structure, potentially something once belonging to the Sith or at the very least some extinct Dark Side related culture. There's definitely a time jump, but I still think it's fairly small.
      I think with the dialogue shared about the Jedi conspiring to overthrow the Chancellor, that's our biggest hint that it's still fairly recent. While that would be the story on the record, I would like to think that even in Star Wars, prisons still get the news, that Barriss would be given a datapad every so often to see what's happening in the Galaxy. I was expecting Lyn to say that Barriss was being held for life for crimes against the Republic, but since it no longer exists, she now has this choice to join the Inquisitorius, but the real reason is because she blamed the Jedi for the war. The terminology of even calling Palpatine Chancelor instead of Emperor or even mentioning that he has since become Emperor is an interesting choice, as if everyone's still getting used to it all.
      It's hard to say just how much time passes even after Barriss passes the test. Where was Birdface and Marrok during her time training? Were they other candidates being taken in at the same time or were they later? How long before Vader showed up? Certain actions like Barriss' reluctance to put on the helmet at first is more just for narrative continuity, not necessarily that everything we see takes place in direct succession of the previous scene without some time in between. It's like seeing the Death Star in Revenge of the Sith. Now there's a reason why it took nearly 20 years to construct, but it was more just to link the Prequel and Original Trilogies further, and that scene is most definitely happening after when Leia is taken to Alderaan and Luke to Tatooine, but it works for the flow of the film.
      The diehard fans like ourselves really like the idea of a timeline and treating Star Wars like factual historical events, but the way Lucasfilm goes about sharing stories are more concerned with just telling a compelling narrative and hopefully avoiding continuity errors, but letting some things ebb and flow with regard to time. It's been suggested by Pablo Hidalgo that Luke experiences a few weeks to even a couple months with Yoda on Dagobah while Han and Leia really only spend a few days on the run from the Empire, so even just your position within the Galaxy can warp time either by way of physics with the theory of relativity, or by way of magic with The Force.
      There are certain events that happen within a chronological order, but there's always wiggle room. Even just the amount of stories during the 3 years of the Clone Wars or across the 4 years of the Original Trilogy dwarf the amount of stories between the two time periods even though it's got the larger time span. I'm sure with time we'll eventually pack it full of stuff, but even then, there will always be some story that can fit between two others when there otherwise shouldn't be room.

      Great point about the line regarding the Jedi conspiring to overthrow the Chancellor. I agree, that sure seems like Barriss was let out of prison shortly after Order 66!

    I'm tempted to think that Tales of the Empire 1x06 takes place around (maybe a bit after) Rebels 2x10, since that episode sees two inquisitors looking for force-sensitive children.

    Where do you think episode 4, Devoted, takes place in relation to the bad batch? I'm trying to figure where best to place it and I'm thinking maybe just in between season 1 and 2? 😂

    • @AbitofEverything4U
      @AbitofEverything4U  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, that's a good placement. Or it could be sometime during season 1? I can't wait for the updated timeline book to arrive, as there's alot of new stuff for them to add. I'm really interested to see where they place The Acolyte and also where Mando season 3 lands as well.

    • @AbitofEverything4U
      @AbitofEverything4U  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good questions. We'll get an official answer with the next release of the timeline book, ofc, but my guess is that Episode 5 is shortly after the Bad Batch series ends and Episode 6 is shortly before Rebels season 1. It's hard to pin them down more than that, I fear, but those are my predictions for now.

    • @AbitofEverything4U
      @AbitofEverything4U  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question. While we don't know for sure, my guess is that it was between seasons 2 and 3. It seems that Thrawn would get to work on designing them soon after Morgan shared the plans with him, which we see him do in season 3.

    • @AbitofEverything4U
      @AbitofEverything4U  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My guess is that episode 3 happened in very close proximity to Morgan's appearance in Mando season 2. It seems Bo would have contacted the authorities and that would have led to Morgan being hunted down in the Mando episode.

    I was genuinely confused when the kid said ''they're hiding in the mountains'' and only one showed up. Hope this was a one time thing. Pandering to the alphabet people is like paying protection money to mafia. Give them an inch and they take a mile.

    • @AbitofEverything4U
      @AbitofEverything4U  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yep, we had a long discussion about this on the discord server. While I don't mind that the jedi was non-binary and thus preferred the "they/them" pronouns, it was very confusing because neither Lyn nor Barriss mentioned how they knew to use that pronoun and so I also thought there were multiple jedi in the mountains. It was pretty confusing at first.

      @@_juderae Well, it impacted me as it set expectations for what was gonna happen. And it is not like it was illogical of me to expect several Jedi. But even if that wasn't the case, i don't want tr4ns people in Star Wars, especially as a Jedi. It doesn't even make any sense as tr4ns people are highly emotional and self-centered. They want the world to cater to their feelings and delusions. Not exactly Jedi-Material.
