I've watched this Tiny Desk four hundred slevnety million times & I still get goosies, ERRRY TIME! Can we talk about those background singers? DAMNNNN!!!! Yebba is my girl & I am SO glad you love her too!
I love how much you appreciated her. Everyone likes her when they discover her but they don't always express it enough for me, but you did. Great reaction!
Yebba’s voice LIVES in my mind!!! The raw emotion she expresses through her voice sooooo EFFORTLESSLY!!! If you haven’t already, PLEASE listen to her song “My Mind”. I have never heard someone sing what ugly crying would looks like so beautifully!!!
I discovered Yebba with My mind and watched this Tiny Desk the same day. I litterally listened to « Stand » 5 times before I move on to « Distance ». This Tiny Desk concert has been on repeat since.
I love this tiny desk performance.. Yebba is incredible and the back up singers are fantastic!!! The first song gives me goosebumps every time. I love it!!! ❤❤❤❤
Thanks for reacting to this and understanding the brilliance of Yebba. She is a once-in-a-generation artist and maybe one of the GOATS! She is nothing short of epic.
This tiny desk was amazing. Every song was good and the background singers were on point! Great reaction! Check out Boomerang live, Evergreen (official video) and Louie Bag (live at electric lady). You won't be disappointed.
I would love to see her and Chris Stapleton sing together. They are both insanely talented, and arent confined to one genre. Thank you for your reaction, new sub here.
I'm pretty sure her pianist, James Francis, does her arrangements. Her guitarist has been with her for a long while too. The female background singer was conducting the other background singers if you watch her hands. She also sang background on Evergreen.
Great reaction. It is pure joy to listen to her and these amazing musicians. Never heard such great back up singers. And James Francies on keys...yes, he was killing it. Now, check out live versions of Evergreen, her tribute song to her mother, and Boomerang. After that her latest live recordings in Electric Lady Studio. Several of her own tunes, a John Mayer cover and musicians to die for. James Francies again and always, Questlove and Pino Palladino to name a couple more. Then there are a handfull of collaborations you must hear!! Ed Scheeran, Pj Morton, Clark Beckham, Lucky Daye, Stan Smith and few more. Get on it! I envy the ride you have ahead. I love that you mention Jazmine. She and Yebba are, in my opinion, singer/songwriters of a generation. In company with Ella, Aretha and Joni.
Is there a genre coined yet for this soul/folk cross-over? I love how she is not cookie cutter, just writing and singing and drawing from all of her upbringing and influences and experiences.
You really do need to check our Louie Bag and Boomerang! Both great songs! Having a forever 32 year old son, How Many Years gets me every time! She wrote another amazing song about her mother, who committed suicide, called October Sky.
Love your reactions! Collaborations are great, and she started her career doing many of them, but she is in her own orbit now, and she doesn't need to share that voice with anyone!
Yebba’s collabed with Lucky Daye, PJ Morton, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Drake. I dont think she’s collabed with any female artists yet tho. At least I cant think off the top of my head. But yea her and Jazmine would make me run out a room.
Yebba writes and arranges all her music. You've got to listen to "Evergreen"---she grew up in her father's church in West Memphis. Her mother committed suicide and Evergreen was the first time she was able to walk back into a church. Also "October Sky".
@@KRayTV1 just found your reactions and i LOVE how much you love her! i understand how you feel for real the song where yebba features on james francies’ album is insane. it’s called my day will come and it’s a whole journey every recommendation is good cause you can’t miss with her! this one is def flying under the radar though and it shouldnt be
Why isn't Yebba bigger? I like her for her versatility more than Adele. Someone needs to produce another really great album for her and it needs to be more heard. Her first one was incredible but got no attention.
I cannot answer that question for you. Maybe she needs to go on a show like Masked Singer to get her voice out there in a different way and then the audience will come
I absolutely live Yebba! Her talent is on a different level! But the first song I heard of hers was “My Mind”. The rawness and singular talent of just her voice and one guitar was unbelievable! The problem when they go professional, is they try to fit in the box current singers fit in and lose some of what we fell in love with them for! Where is her rasp?! The range and originality? She is a little to practiced here. I hope she brings it back!
For me, they don't need to get together. For me, they are two different singers; Yebba sings to sing, and we just happen to be privy to seeing her express herself in song. Whereby, Jasmine is a performer. And if I had to pick between the two, for me it'd be Yebba who is more versatile as proven by her song choices - no two which are ever the same. In fact, you don't hear Yebba sing her own songs the same way twice!
@Shandelle I respect it. I do want them to collab because I believe the song, the performance, etc will be something out of this world. From watching them both take songs and sing them differently all the time it is a mash up that may need to only happen to once but needs to happen
Please do a reaction to Niia featuring Jazmine Sullivan "Sideline". Talking about goosebumps. For Niia to try to keep up with Jazmine on her own song lol. It's crazy.
She has amazed me again!!!! What do ya'll think!?? #DreamSquad
If Yebba and Jazmine ever collaborated it would blow up planet Earth.
Facts and I'm ready for the blow up!!!
let it burn !!!!!!
Pass the matches!!
I've watched this Tiny Desk four hundred slevnety million times & I still get goosies, ERRRY TIME! Can we talk about those background singers? DAMNNNN!!!! Yebba is my girl & I am SO glad you love her too!
Same!!! And I shed tears almost every time I listen to it! The way she perfectly melds her voice with her fellow vocalist?!? Absolutely PERFECTION!!!
The background singers are insanely good.
It doesn't make any sense how great they are
I love how much you appreciated her. Everyone likes her when they discover her but they don't always express it enough for me, but you did. Great reaction!
Thank you! Yea I can't do anything but give her her flowers because that voice is beyond amazing
I play this tiny desk performance like its on apple music
Haha as you should @Civillaw
I appreciate the way that you let the tracks ride and react in real time instead of stopping every 8 bars.
Iv heard many background singers in my lifetime. But hot dayyyymmm these background vocalists are from a different planet
Facts!!! These and Jazmine Sullivan's are out of this world
@@KRayTV1 i know and Jazmine is another woman whos talent is out of this world.
I discovered Yebba with My mind and watched this Tiny Desk the same day. I litterally listened to « Stand » 5 times before I move on to « Distance ». This Tiny Desk concert has been on repeat since.
@Kamanda I see why lol 😆 sometimes I have to force myself to move on cuz I have others to do lol
Yebba should be so much bigger. She is a better more versatile singer than Adele and Beyonce. No Grammy should have gone out without her.
💯
Artists, like Yebba, is why I left the music industry. She is amazing and the best singer around today yet most of the world does not know about her.
Also react to Boomerang live. She really shows her range off in that one. Amazing and funky to.
Yup I have that one down already to do can't wait
My most played Tiny Desk!
I can see why! I think mine is Jazmine Sullivan
React to her live version of her collab with Lucky Daye, How much can a heart take. It is so smooth. 🙏❤️
I've lost track of how many times I've listened to it lol... sooo good
Okay I will add it to the list....I'm excited now
That live is beyond great!!
I listen to this tiny desk on a regular! So good!
I loved every bit of this
I think I’ve watched both artists over a million times in the last month. #obsessed
To be clear that is Yebba and Jazmine! Dagmn!!!!
This tiny desk was amazing. Every song was good and the background singers were on point! Great reaction! Check out Boomerang live, Evergreen (official video) and Louie Bag (live at electric lady). You won't be disappointed.
Thank you and will do!!!
How did you know???????? I’ve listened to it almost everyday since it came out last year. Obsessed!!!
Great minds lol
13:43 😂😂😂”pretty goood?!?” Hahaha! I love it when an artist can admit to having a good run. It’s not easy nailing it and she did!!!!
I would love to see her and Chris Stapleton sing together. They are both insanely talented, and arent confined to one genre. Thank you for your reaction, new sub here.
For a little fun, try her song Boomerang Live. It is a little different but as usual, fantastic.
Hmmm I don't think I have that one on the list...let me add it

Everything about this is fire!!! They were all on point!!
All of them must have from come the church like Yebba. The background singers knew the assignment and executed flawlessly
Louie Bag gets stuck in my head over and over!
It's a fire song 🎵
You gotta do her song "Evergreen".
Yup gonna do it next time already on the list

@Diana all great suggestions and great comment. Some of these have been done and others will be done for sure
Is there a genre coined yet for this soul/folk cross-over? I love how she is not cookie cutter, just writing and singing and drawing from all of her upbringing and influences and experiences.
We call it SANGING lol
No two live performance are the same. Nor does she ever sound like her album. She is always changing it up and playing with the music.
@Dan this is why she is a great artist!
Have you seen the cover of Brandy’s “Have You Ever” by Vincent Cannady, Mario Jose, and Matt Bloyd? It’s FANTASTIC
I have not....let me SS this now
The entire concert is impeccable.
She also writes all the songs
Talent beyond talent
Most definitely
Yebba is the one who makes skill vocal arrangements

Her inspiration comes from listening to the Clark Sisters.

YEBBA feat. LUCKY DAYE

@@KRayTV1 Then I will check it out asap!

Does she need it no, would it be great to have those two link up....yes
She's phenomenal!
I say this with caution but as good as these songs are, her album versions are even better. (In my opinion)
Say whaaaaaa her album version is better than the live version....I need to go check this out
@@KRayTV1 YES! Check them out
"Harmonies on point"... literally not a single harmony has come in yet. They're singing in unison separated by octaves.
@adam I laughed so much at this comment lol 😆
Her Mom committed suicide...
The piano player for this session, James Francies, has a song featuring Yebba on vocals on his album titled "My Day Will Come". It's a must hear.
Gotcha will add this to the list
