I imagine that by the time they were old enough to realize that they were seeing ghosts they'd had a fair amount of the adults not taking them seriously and stopped telling tales, then they watched Peter get ganked and figured that if the adults don't believe them about the supernatural telling them might just make the adults actively step into her path to prove she's not real. I’m already an emotional person and the two main things that get me are unwavering love and tragedy happening to innocent people, so her suffering this way in a constant loop for however long she decides to remain in denial of her fate, while she’s forced to reconcile with the fact that she can’t have a future with the man she loves???? I had to stop watching for a few days because… it’s just so unfair… it’s so heartbreaking and she was just such a good person through and through… she deserved better…

Episode 5: Hanna says to Miles "do you want to die a terrible, choking death" and he/Peter scoffs at her. Episode 6: the whole story of the brothers is so incredibly intense. When Dominic tells Henry off and banishes him - pure gold. Mathew Holness absolutely explodes off the screen in his two big scenes. Henry inherited everything when they died but maintains his banishment - out of guilt/loyalty(?).

One of my favourite things about Bly Manor and Hill House is how the ghosts seem to exist outside time, like whichever location they're bound to they just flit between the past/present/future at random. In Hill House it was more prominent because the house itself seemed to exist in a vacuum where time was irrelevant, but it was nice to see that element brought back a bit with Hannah's pov (also the metaphor for dementia adds that extra layer of tragedy to her story)

I love how you picked up very early on on Hannah never eating or drinking and theorized (rightly so) she was a ghost, BUT when it's confirmed by her literally falling down the well and breaking her neck, you're like "huh now I'm not sure." I was also waiting for you to realize the lady in the lake wasn't Rebecca! I'm still not quite sure how that misunderstanding came to be, maybe because Hannah said she drowned before we even got to see what she looked like? I remember being confused when you said the lady in the lake was Rebecca.

Uncle Henry didn't actually know that Flora was his until his brother told him. This is proven because he asks Charlotte later, who says "I'm sorry for not telling you", and since it's just them two in that scene, there's no reason for him to feign ignorance. The reason the shot hangs on him a little longer during Flora's birth is merely because he wishes he could be the one supporting Charlotte through that hard time, but he can't because it would be weird. That's to hint at the affair, not at him knowing he's Flora's dad, because at point, he doesn't.
Also, all ghosts at Bly are visible. The "ghosts" that are only visible to specific people, like Dani's ex or Uncle Henry's alter ego, are not visible to others because they're not ghosts, they're merely shadows created by guilt and remorse. Most of the time, the characters don't see the background ghosts because they don't really pay attention. But they are all indeed visible, it's not like a superpower to see them. Otherwise, why would Peter go hide behind a tree when Dani first meets Miles, instead of just standing next to Miles like he was before? Dani doesn't see Peter very often because most of the time, he gets into Miles off screen. She doesn't see Miss Jessel even when she's obviously there, because she's always behind her, and by the time Dani notices Flora is watching over her shoulder and she turns around, Miss Jessel is gone. Hannah isn't fully aware she's dead so she doesn't really hide, but can disappear as Dani has said sometimes it's like she just vanishes. In episode 6, Dani finally sees Miss Jessel because she walked in by surprise and Miss Jessel didn't have the time to hide.

I was really enjoying ya’ll speculating on how Peter might die while Hannah was in Rebecca’s bedroom. Like give it about a minute and a half and you’ll know lol. (Not that you could know that).
They really red herring that Rebecca is the woman in the lake, but in the Two Faces Pt 1 Rebecca comments about cleaning up muddy footprints which is what gave it away for me.

Hannahs story is so tragic. It makes me so sad to think of her stuck there wanting to get out but never being able to, especially because she can sense something is wrong.
Also, you guys should give yourselves more credit, you're all super intuitive and smart; when I first wayched this episode I seriously thought Hannah had dementia and she was in a care home being taken care of by nurse Owen LOL. I was waaaay off. Didn't realize until the last few minutes that she was a ghost.
The 6th episode made me cry too, the scene with Flora being "tucked away" in a memory, realizing it and telling her mom she misses her... So heartbreaking. But ever since I watched it, whenever I remember something where I wish I had done something differently, I try to transport myself and do it like seeing my dad or my cat, both have passed away a long time ago but it can be quite healing.
I just love how Flanagan has a way of showing the beauty in tragedy.

We saw Flora repeatedly tell Dani to stay in her room at night, and even though it might have been weird at first, but then in ep 4 (I think?) both her and Miles try to distract Dani so she doesn't come near the Lady from the lake. And it makes sense, as long as you don't meet her, you're fine. But Peter...he stood in the way unfortunately.

Peter was choked to death by the lady in the lake. She has a very strong grip! When you see his arm fall before they enter the forbidden wing, that's when he loses consciousness. But he only fully dies a few seconds later, which is when we see his ghost walk back to the kids.

I think Hanna is really dead 💔. Also I think Hanna "lives" in the present we are watching but as a dead person she "travels" to different memories forgetting she's in the present. Looks like if you go to those memories kind of just wondering around you can start to get lost in them and forget who you are and the fact that you are "living" in the present. I think this episode is geniusly done.
Thanks guys! I'm excited about the rest of the show 💛✨

Hey guys another great couple of reactions. I'm gonna just get right into it. We know that Owen & Jamie are in fact alive because they leave the property. We know that like Hill House those that die there r stuck there. Peter's whole speech to Hannah while possessing Miles right before pushing her down the well was about being stuck, & how he longed for the police to drag him away from the trap that is Bly Manor. Also, just like Hill House we r seeing that time is not linear but circular by the way Hannah leaps thru time & apparently space because she ended up in Rebecca, Miss Jessell's memory & the memory of Peter's demise. I wondered since she could do that whether/not she had some sort of gift while alive. All those times going back to the interview w/ Owen is her need to go back to the beginning because she feels like she's missing something & she is in denial about something that keeps eluding her. We found out why she lights 4 candles in the chapel instead of just 3. Charlotte (Miles & Flora's mother) got her started in lighting 1 candle for her ex-husband because "let's just pretend he is dead". Later, Hannah added candles for the children's parents & Miss Jessell. O, about that no faced kid, u guys either said it was the young version of the lady from the lake/Jamie, but u seemed to be forgetting that Flora ran yelling to her mother & said it was "...a little boy & he doesn't have a face." Did u guys know that the main part of this series was based off of the novella/novel, A TURN OF THE SCREW w/a few short stories of the same author? There have been many movie versions of the main story. This was Mike Flannigan's take on it, plus a few extra tales.worked into it. Anyway, glad u r liking it thus far.😊 Although I really liked THE HAUNTING OF BLY MANOR, I loved THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE, which was also a book written by Shirley Jackson, but the book greatly differs. That was why 1 of the siblings was named Shirley. The rest of the siblings in THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE were characters in the book, as were the Dudleys. Ok, commented long enough. Gonna sign off by saying once again, great reaction u guys.👍😊

I don't think you're going to find many people who are following the series at the same rate as you are, but I can tell you what I was thinking back when I was in the middle: This is one of those mini-series that you watch from start to finish, and then watch a second time from start to finish. Don't even try to spot all the details as you go.

I definitely recommend watching bly manor a second time, so many things you notice then! Like Hannah when she caught Peter and Rebecca in the parents' bedroom, she threatens Peter to "drag him into the lake by his ear", which then kinda happens, bc Peter is dragged into the lake! Or Hannah always wears turtlenecks in the scenes she is already dead. Stuff like that. Watched the show several times and every time I noticed something new. ^^

I would say I can enjoy a show more when I don't binge it, at least appreciate the single episodes more.

I would also love to see you guys reacting to the series "Yellowjackets" after you finished Bly Manor. In my opinion the show needs more attention and even on youtube there are not many reactions to the show. It's an amazing series and I bet you guys will like it as well! It will suck you in and you could discuss for hours after each episode ☺️. The second season is running at the moment and has only couple of episodes left. So you would have plenty episodes to look forward to!
Hopefully you will consider watching the series in the future! ❤

I know these series are kind of like puzzles, you have to put some thought into it during the ride. But sometimes you guys try too hard lmao Don't forget that Bly Manor is much like Hill House in that it's full of other ghosts with their own stories, that interact with each other and the living, alike. All will be revealed!

My prediction - could Hannah still be alive at the bottom of the well? She keeps seeing the crack in her disembodied self because her actual body is still staring at it and can't stop staring at it. So she keeps seeing it everywhere her spirit goes. A subtle hint or reminder that maybe she is still alive, the same way she keeps saying her name over and over. To remind herself who she is at the bottom of the well. It might also explain the time jumps. All the times she is unconscious at the bottom of the well is when she is able to roam the grounds as her disembodied self. Maybe?
