Probably do midnight club last since its technically unfinished still great for what we got. Mike did release a document explaining what would of been season 2 so there's kind of closure for the show.
It's something im completely allergic about, always triggers me when i read spoilers in the comments. We're here to watch genuine reactions. But there's so many ppl who want to spoil or want reactors to react a certain way so if they don't ppl feel the need to correct them. It's so dumb. Happens a lot with gaming channels to with backseat gaming and spoiler posting. It defeats the entire purpose of watching, for us and for the reactors themself.
Including us as viewers!!!! Why would you want them to know something ahead of time and spoil the reaction... the purpose the of the content, people are silly sometimes
@@marklouis1890 I disagree. A lot of times setting an expectation combined with the context where it's given reveals a lot about what's to come. Say someone mentions Nell or being sad, and someone says "oh just wait", or "next episode 😢", now anyone reading that already knows what's going to happen, has it 95% figured out, or is left guessing. It's highly egotistical and shitty no matter if it's a 'soft' spoiler or not.
This should be a general rule. It's distracting as fuck. But most reactors go into it knowing about the hidden ghosts and therefore can't help but look for them.
@@marklouis1890 I don't really understand the implication that it would be better for them to expect them and then look for them, missing the show in the process. Which is likely to happen. But I'll leave it at that, I don't want to start an argument based on semantics.
@@screamr2d2 Same, I loved when it came out and it was unlike what the trailer had me thinking it’d be. It’s such a shame people are giving spoilers to that one, a lot of people already overlook it so it sucks to see it being spoiled for those interested in seeing it. 😭
@@illgillbates9561 I knew two things about the show beforehand that I didn't find spoilery, just informative based on the inspiration of the project, which only made me more excited to watch it. with bly manor i feel like a lot of people went into it expecting the same thing as hill house which left them disappointed and that’s a shame, it’s not the same but it’s good in it’s own way
there are definitely a few jump scares n moments of suspense but i’d say it’s more creepy than scary. like hill house, bly manor just uses “horror” to tell a story that hits you in your guts. can’t wait to watch y’all go through this journey!! :))
This. Totally agree it's more creepy then scary. And I totally agree with the gothic romance description of this story, I think that's why some people were disappointed with this series because they were going in expecting more scary like HoHH but it's a different vibe. I'm not good with horror stuff either Blake but I do like a mystery with a great atmospheric setting like the large grounds with the fog setting in. Kind of reminds me of the creepy vibe of the foggy Moors in Wuthering Heights (a Gothic Romance) or the Sherlock Holmes story The Hound of the Baskervilles.
Bly Manor certainly is different than Hill House, though there are some things in common, especially in how they're shot. Hill House is a family-driven drama horror. Bly Manor is more gothic romantic horror... actually, it very much reminds me of classic gothic horror in the way the story develops and in the imagery used. Both are fantastic in their own way. Also, fun fact, Bly Manor is not only adapted from 1898 novella The Turn of the Screw by Henry James but also, each episode references or is sorta based on James' short stories... The Great Good Place, The Pupil, The Two Faces, The Way It Came, The Altar of the Dead, The Jolly Corner, The Romance of Certain Old Clothes, and The Beast in the Jungle.
Bly Manor definitely is a kind of Henry James' "best of". Flanagan recently did the same thing for Edgar Allan Poe with The Fall of the House of Usher. I love this kind of show.
Y’all need to be careful that you don’t accidentally spoil yourselves. This one isn’t like Hill House in the same way where there are just hidden ghosts everywhere. Most of what you see in Bly Manor is gonna mean something down the road.
The background ghosts are just that. Don't let them distract you too much; you're missing much of the dialogue, which is much more important to the story.
Although The Midnight Club sadly didn't get its inteded ending, Mike Flanagan released an essay detailing how the series was going to play out so it is definitely still worth a watch!🤗
Midnight Club was supposed to have 2 seasons but I still think what we got was excellent. I hope you don't skip it. A lot of the newer younger cast members from Midnight Club are in The Fall of the House of Usher too. I love seeing them all play wildly different characters each show.
it‘s a shame it got cancelled- if you do decide to watch it, Mike Flanagan has a tumblr on which he wrote down a summary of what (final) season 2 would’ve been and answers all the open questions, so you could get ~some~ amount of closure
The thing about heatwave in most of northen europe is due our houses are designed to keep heat in due our mostly cold weather. And we don't have AC due there has been no need for it. So when the heatwaves of late comes around our house turns into ovens, it's easier to be outside than inside at home. Especially annoying at night when you want to sleep. Hard to sleep in 33-35c degrees. That said for florida peeps i guess having 30c nearly year round makes you more used to it. I bet you'd freeze instead at 10-15c while it's shorts weather for us.
Exactly! We’ve been dealing with 10-15 degrees C (40-50) for damn near 6 months now. You betcha ass we’re gonna be talking about and celebrating it finally reaching mid 20s!
Literally, so excited to watch you guys watch call Mike Flanigan’s series! I absolutely love every one of his series he’s put out, and his movies are awesome too. Some of my favorites are actually directed by him. Also shout out to his amazing wife, she played Theo in the haunting of hill house. She’s literally been in almost all of his stuff, she is literally one of my favorite actresses! 😁
We’re so back and it’s perfectly splendid 🎉🎉 This is my least favorite of the Mike Flanagan stuff, but it’s still pretty good and I love that we get much more of Victoria Pedretti than we did in Hill House❤ Ps - so impressed by how much content you guys have been giving us!! so excited to watch this with you guys, flannagan is such a talent. i agree with others about not focusing on trying to look at background stuff, the dialogue and acting is really subtle at times that can be missed . love it tho guys. so entertaining
Guys, Hill House is definitely the scariest of these series. Bly is mysterious and spooky, and has the odd scare to make Blake cry. By the way, it was filmed here in the Vancouver area.
THE HYPE IS REAL ❤🔥 and please do The Midnight Club as well! That series is very special to me as I am dealing with a major theme of it in my personal life (not specifying to avoid spoiling it), and I'd love to watch your reaction to it! LET'S GO FLANAVERSE 💫

You guys need to stop concentrating too much on finding ghost in the background. You're going to miss plot points and clues to what's going on. Also, if we were to drink on everytime someone says, "Oh, there's something back there" (or similar), i'll be dead drunk.
definitely give Midnight Club a shot at least, it's really good in it's own way, i enjoyed it quite a bit, it's just pretty different from Mike's other shows because it was meant to be more than a miniseries and for a slightly younger audience. but either way, looking forward to seeing y'all get through more of this!
Psyched to see your reaction to this series, its def my top 3 of his! Try go into the rest of the Flanagan universe watching each show as an independent body of work, and without comparing them, if at all possible, they're all so different
Can't wait for you guys to watch the whole Flaniverse! Pissed at the 'English cuisine is trash' comment though, haha. Bangers and mash is sausages, mashed potatoes and veg and gravy x
Midnight Club is *absolutely* worth it! It was the first of Flannigan's shows to be "guaranteed" two seasons, so was written to be that way, but though it did really well, it didn't stay doing really well for as long as Netflix wanted, so they canceled it. It' something Netflix has been doing increasingly often, canceling popular shows for not *staying* super popular forever. However, Flannigan did describe how the second season was supposed to go when it became apparent it wouldn't be continued, and the season we have is so so good! Also, I know Blake has been having trouble with Flannigan's shows, but in my own opinion, Hill House is by far the scariest. Once you're past Bly, it's even less scary, though each show has its moments. I do hope the rest of the viewing isn't as torturous for him, and that he is able to enjoy more. Flannigan's storytelling and both his and his casts' ability to convey emotion is masterful. Looking forward to next week!
I’m so excited to see your reactions to more of Mike’s works. I used to think I hated seeing the same actors in shows over and over because I got really sick of it with American Horror Story, but I realized it’s because I just didn’t care for a lot of those actors because I’ve been loving it with the Flanniverse actors.
I love watching people react to Mike Flanagan shows! I've been watching his stuff since Hill House came out and I keep thinking he can't beat what he's already made, and then he keeps impressing me more and more. Glad you guys are planning on reacting to his other shows. Unrelated to that, I recommend reacting to Yellowjackets. It's a wild ride and the actors do a great job!
omg I'm so excited for the Flanaverse journey. The haunting of, Midnight mass, Fall of Usher house. Honestly some of the top shows I've watched, Mike really knows his horror stuff and since he only works with a handful of actors, he's directly writing characters for them because he knows their strengths etc I'm going to need a video every day, please 😂
Haha yeah I have to agree with that one commenter. Don’t try to look for clues or Easter eggs in this one, everything will unfold as you watch. Don’t want to spoiler yourselves!!
I loved the midnight club. It is loosely based on a book series by Christopher Pike that I was obsessed with as a kid. Think like Goosebumps or Fear Street. I think yall should watch it, if for no other reason but to complete the set.
Fun fact - the guy playing the groom at the wedding is Greg Sestero. You might remember him from possibly the worst movie ever made - The Room, where he plays Mark. And apparently he can actually act given a good direction. By the way, if you guys haven’t seen The Room, it’s a great movie to react to while drunk (if you’re into that). It’s an iconic “so bad it’s good” movie and I believe there’s a drinking game around it.
If you guys are ever open to older films there's a brilliant gothic horror film from 1961 called The Innocents that's based on the Henry James novel "The Turn of the Screw" which this series is adapted from also. It's quite the scare! 😊
I actually hate that there were hidden ghosts in Hill House. People get so hung up on it that they spend all their time trying to find ghosts and miss the whole story.
I don't know if you guys have watched The Room (which I hope you have, since it's the greatest movie ever made), but my favourite thing about this show is the fact that Greg Sestero plays the groom at the wedding that's the setting for the story told. Made me so happy.
I watched it with my dad when it came out 😂😂 Flora’s “Perfectly Splendid” kept pissing up off 😂😂😂 Dad: she keeps saying that.. I’m turning it off. That’s gonna get annoying REALLLL FASTTTT 💀
Guys, you should ABSOLUTELY watch Occulus (one of flanagan’s first works), it’s one of my favorites, I was obsessed with this movie when I was a teenager, and rewatched as an adult (still holds up)
Instead of watching Bly Manor by myself, I will watch it with you guys on this crazy, ghost adventure. ALSO, PLZ react to a tv series called Chucky. It's honestly so good. 🙏
I just think Bly got me more bc of the sadness. The scares are a different kind than just scares if at the end you know the story. Hill House was a sad story too but this one is far more,
People said this show wasn’t scary? I’d say Haunting of Hill House is more of a horror flick kinda scary, while this is more creepy ghost story scary that you get chills from! I’m so excited to follow your journey with Bly! 😍
We were wrong. This is exactly the kind of shit that scares Blake. I don't know how I forgot about all the dark hallways. I apologize for all of us who misled you into feeling safe. Also I REALLY wanna know what got spoiled
It is still on the comments of the HOHH finale. I admit I looked for it. Very easy to find the comment. I won't repeat so as to not accidentally spoil more.

Dude, can I just say that I love Henry Thomas so much? Perfectly splendid!
I get a mini jump scare every time the video cuts and the lady in the lake pops up
The acting chops on that little boy, man.
i can't put into words how excited i am to watch this omg
Can`t wait to see more of Bly Manor reactions on Wednesdays.
In my opinion Midnight Mass is Mike Flanagan’s best work. Excited for you guys to react to it! Thank you
I would never stop watching this channel
I actually hate that there were hidden ghosts in Hill House. People get so hung up on it that they spend all their time trying to find ghosts and miss the whole story.
Like everything in life, I don't hate that something exists, but what people make of it.
Pensando seriamente en suscribirme a patreon 🫢 Amamos a Mike Flanagan que aquí andamos sin saber mucho inglés jaja
I don't know if you guys have watched The Room (which I hope you have, since it's the greatest movie ever made), but my favourite thing about this show is the fact that Greg Sestero plays the groom at the wedding that's the setting for the story told. Made me so happy.
That's subjective
so looking forward to this and midnight mass
Insane kids! Miles is amazing! Have a nice journey, guys, we certainly will. 🇧🇷😘
All of Flanagan's movies are great also, looking forward to the journey! (Hope the Midnight Mass spoiler wasn't too bad ❤)
I’m so excited to se y’all’s reaction 🥰
I watched it with my dad when it came out 😂😂 Flora’s “Perfectly Splendid” kept pissing up off 😂😂😂
Dad: she keeps saying that.. I’m turning it off. That’s gonna get annoying REALLLL FASTTTT 💀
I love this show so much.
Guys, you should ABSOLUTELY watch Occulus (one of flanagan’s first works), it’s one of my favorites, I was obsessed with this movie when I was a teenager, and rewatched as an adult (still holds up)
I've heard bits and pieces of this show it's going to be fun
I'm so excited for this!
Hill House was a sad story too but this one is far more,
I'm watching this series at the moment so i can enjoy your reaction 😊
I was scared Blake wouldn't be in these reactions but I'm glad he is!!! They're better when he's in them and we get to see him squirm 🤣
can’t wait for u guys see all the Flanaverse and make the personal top
People said this show wasn’t scary? I’d say Haunting of Hill House is more of a horror flick kinda scary, while this is more creepy ghost story scary that you get chills from! I’m so excited to follow your journey with Bly! 😍
Yay! This is going to be perfectly splendid ✨
Blake is my spirit animal
this and midnight mass are my favorites!
31:10 this moment in the show is still so sfjshrhdrhdhrh to me bc they reuse music from Hill House there and it hurts so bad lmao
Victoria really doesn't disappoint no matter what role shes put in
We were wrong.
I watched some old RP vids and my boy Cojo has lost alot of weight!
Ah I’m so excited for fall of the house of usher! That one is the best in the flanniverse
This show is perfectly splendid!
Booooooooyyyssss are back, TYPING IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE YOU NEED TO WATCH MIDNIGHT CLUB, one episode in particular had me crying x Kim kardashian ugly crying. You will fall in love with the characters and the acting is so good. The creators did tweet how it would end; if you’re curious to see, after you react to season 1
Midnight club was mid, and also the story was incomplete. Kinda pointless imho.
@@daytrippera ok!
Been waiting for soooo longggg
The most unrealistic part is that she didn't immediately quit after being locked in that closet.
For what it deals with the "dolls/ghosts" in the replica manor, better have this discussion much further in the series, at least to know few more of them.
Damn, Cojo. I am fucking enamored. 😂❤️
This series is Perfectly Splendid !!!! You guys will love it, the story is really touching and I like it more than The haunting of Hill House. I’m already anxious for the next episode
