That's a cool rifle/ammo, I was eight years old when those rifle came out. We lived out in the sticks, so we never saw or knew about things like that in our neck of the woods, or could afford it even if we did. Great that you can still find ammo for those old rifles at a decent price.
Ya I thought it was a pellet rifle when I saw it at an auction. I bought it for $80. When I got home I went through the same process, trying to shoot pellets, then I did some research. Bought some ammo, what a cool rifle I have now.
Really nice. That's too cool. Damn, dude. That's a wicked killer little ,22 Caliber carbine. Keep rockin', man. Keep bringing us the same stuff. Loving what it is that your doing. Really liking your style with it all, Nice videos. Good content, bruh. We enjoy what you guys are doing. Keep it up. See ya on the next. Peace and love. Later.
Spring piston airguns should not be fired without a pellet (or in this case the caseless ammo) loaded. When you pull the trigger, the spring slams the piston forward, and without any back pressure, the piston slams against the end of the cylinder. Do that a few times and you can destroy the piston and maybe the cylinder. 😐
this gun was designed this way to fire the caseless ammo he is using. this gun was made by Daisy and came out in 1968. it used air to ignite the powder.
I have one of those. I didn’t know the ammunition could be found. I am going to immediately go on Gunbroker and buy some ammunition for this old gem. I really thought it was never going to get shot again. Thank you for posting this video and letting me experience a little bit of my childhood memories again.
I was thinking about that. Probably breaking up a muzzleloading Pyrodex pellet might work. Just have to be careful not to get a overcharge. Most 22lr have 1g of powder in them. Not much. I'm sure there's a way to do it.
Very interesting Josh. I vaguely remember these when I was a kid. Actually the price you gave for ammo was much cheaper than I thought it might have been. When is the new arrival due?
Making paper cartridges is easy as pie. It’s been done since the civil war. I make them for my Ruger Old Army .44 black powder pistol. You should give it a try. It’s actually fun too.

That's a really awesome little rifle. I love learning about obscure little guys like these. Good find josh!
This one was probably close to getting junked or put aside never to be known what it was.
@243Outdoors dang and I bet that's the story for a lot of these type of rifles.
That is a really cool find
Never know what you'll run across.
Incredibly cool good history glad you got it figured out and brought it back to life
Yes it is. Back in action.
That's a neat rifle.
Yes it is.

That is one I've never heard of .
Me either. Didn’t know anything like that existed.
Very cool little rifle👍🏻.

I remember these!!
Cool. Not many have any idea they existed.
I have the Daisy Legend .22 lr. Mine has an adjustable but plate. Cool lil rifles.
I was aware Daisy made some 22lrs but nothing like this.
Nice👍👍

Awesome, awesome stuff right there friend! 👍😃✌️🇺🇸💪

That's one sweet rifle.
I agree. Just neat.

caseless ammo is cool and you can still buy it
Yes. Got 500 rounds in today for it. That should keep it going for a long time.

Try it with a regular pellet that has a tiny amount of petroleum jelly or gun oil in the base. Should get a similar result.
Thankfully some people on Ebay don't realize the difference either. Just purchased one for less than $80
Cool. Never thought of that.
Also got two quackenbush 22 rifles. Another mistaken air rifle listing lol
WOW This is nice!💜👏👏👍👍👍
It is cool.
That’s a new one for me. Very interesting. Wonder how challenging it would be to create that charge “bag” and make your own rounds?

Isnt the composition of the propellant have mercury in it

5 weeks or less

what a great idea wonder why it never caught on
I got one when I was about 10 years old (1968). Parents divorced and dad took gun and never saw it again. Probably sold it for beer and cigarettes.
Looking on GB. The price keeps going up on them.
Excellent review!
Thats very cool! May be the only .22 Walnut and Steel doesn't have!😮❤
what an odd little gun
I’ve never seen or heard of anything like it.
Thats messed up iv seen one of these before, at my local pawn shop. It was a "broken" air rifle. Geeze the days before Internet.
Can you fire just a pellet using only the air?
Those are worth a pretty penny ! If u can find one
I have one of these. My problem is I cannot find .22 cal. Caseless ammo. Any suggestions would be appreciated..

I wonder if this is considered a "firearm" by the government? Like how pellet guns, and musket loaders are not considered firearms.
@@norcal6181 yes it is. One must go through an Ffl.
