Chef-to-be here! (Currently in culinary school, already an experienced home cook and working as a kitchen assistant) It is as Gustave says in Ratatouille: "Anyone can cook". All you need is the desire to cook and the will to learn. Start with one recipe, get good at it, and then build your repertoire from there. ANTI-CHEF and FutureCanoe are the two cooking channels that actually capture my own kitchen struggles, love the new kitchen but definitely going to miss the old one
Congratulations on the baby, and the move! I won't lie, I will miss the old kitchen, as it was warmer looking, and more inviting, but if this helps your life, that is the most important thing.
The room layout and arrangement looks like your new studio is an extra apartment in the same building? That would make the commute pretty easy. Congrats!
I'm wondering if they can actually afford TWO NYC apartments? Maybe they can sublet the bedroom in the filming studio? Rents being so high now, I dunno.
I can't believe you lasted as long as you did doing the show at home. I think Kristy is a saint for working with you on this. It's a great decision to take it more professional and get a second, dedicated space. I'm not super enthralled with the bright, bright white kitchen, but really look forward to seeing how the channel evolves. And good wishes to Kristy!
Love this! You've made my cooking infinitely better because I've been able to see that frustration and struggle is part and parcel of it, not just some mega-personal failing on my part. You're such a great guy and seeing you get your own studio and have a baby - it's inspiring and an honour to be a tiny part of you succeeding at life! Well done - congratulations to you and Christie! ❤Looking forward to more in the new studio!
No sirens were used during the making of this video, meaning everyone is okay! Congrats to the both of you!, both for growing, for the baby and for the new studio! I love to binge watch the episodes from this channel, and to see how relatable you are making so many different recipes!
Really? Why would he quit when he has a baby on the way and just reached his highest success? These are the big $$ days for a TH-camr. It's the dream for so many of them! Jamie is making huge bank now. There's no way anyone would walk away from that!
Can’t express how happy I am for you to have a space to destroy (and for Kristy’s sanity and comfort). A huge congratulations to the both of you on having a new Anti-Chef baby on the way. And finally, a very large and heartfelt thank you. I stumbled across your channel in the midst of life altering events between back surgery, partner fighting through addiction, and taking care of my own kids. The giant irony is that you have become part of my escapism from work, which is the restaurant and hotel world. But with every video you welcome me into your kitchen, and I feel inspired, and humored, and related too in my own personal growth as a home cook (front of house guy through and through). So, short story long, I am so grateful to be allowed to share the journey. Thank you, and here’s to many more “Order Up’s”.
I discovered you when remaking a recipe from Ottolenghi’s PLENTY. An absolute delight. At 75 I downsized, which meant it was time to part with a substantial collection of cookbooks. My rule was “if I do not have at least four recipes from a cookbook out it goes”. With your show (I am now 84) I have been purchasing used copies of books that I once owned. I still have my original The Art of French Cooking (which cost $10 at the time and quite extravagant). Once again I have The French Laundry, Bouchon, White Heat, etc. Watching you is the experience I had when first discovering Julia Child on “educational” PBS station. By watching her I saw what “ribbon” meant. Watching you, and acknowledging the sometimes confusing instructions, I am embracing again, cookbooks that are old and now new again. It has been fun.
Sorry to butt in here but this is such a lovely comment 😭♥️ how wonderful that you’re re-buying old favourites! I hope you keep cooking and enjoying every minute, bon appétit ♥️
This may have already been said and/or asked, but is your studio in the same building where you live? Incredibly convenient if it is! The layout seems identical to the previous kitchen in your apartment. So happy for you on both fronts, professional and personal! There’s nothing like becoming a parent! I wish you and your beautiful bride all the happiness in the world. Sounds like your theme song should start with, “Life is good!” 💖
Hearing about your baby made me verklempt - and if you had any idea what a toughened shoe leather souled old bat I am, you would know that I am extremely happy for you and your delightful wife. Congrats.
Congratulations! I've always wondered how the dynamics of a relationship work in a New York apartment with filming, work, and personal life all happening in one space. With the baby on the way, this is the perfect time to separate filming from your personal space and reserve it for your growing family. You know what they say "happy wife, happy life" or "happy spouse, peaceful house". Looking forward to the future.
Congratulations! Finally Jamie can just get Chromeo from a shelf instead of storing it in the underworld and having to summon it via dark rituals every time. I think the only thing I'll miss about the old kitchen is that the new one looks just a little too clean and sterile- though I'm sure that will stop once you get to cooking haha
Never commented, but have loved your "experiment" for years now. A former line cook, who doesn't miss the intensity/insanity of a pro kitchen, watching ANTI-CHEF is a breath of fresh and fun air - but with commitment. It's like watching an old friend making me food and yammering away and . . . just a lot of fun. Thanks and best of luck moving forward in the new adventure and most of all - Congratulations on "The Little Dude" who'll change the game even further! Rock on, man!
Congratulations on your new baby and your new studio! I have to say that your wife is an absolute saint for dealing with the filming for so long, I’m sure this move is going to make her life less stressful and just in time! Can’t wait to see the videos coming from the new kitchen!

Jamie, you have no idea how much fun and joy you bring to me and my husband every single episode. When I first found you on the tubes, I was hooked. Shortly thereafter I played one of your videos when my husband came into the room.....and from that point on we started binge watching for hours on end. That was over a year ago and we have not missed one episode since then. You've entertained and amazed at every turn! The most amazing thing is your unwillingness to quit, no matter how massive the failure! You just keep on plowing forward.....and now your skill levels have grown massively. SO.....congratulations on your new kitchen studio! And HUGE congrats on the upcoming addition to your family! Love and cherish Christie and the new baby that's on the way. You've been greatly blessed. And never stop cooking! I can hardly wait until next week when you cook your first dish in your bright, new kitchen! God bless!
I am so happy for you and Kristy! I've been watching you for years! When you started to talk about a hint and said in the clip that she shouldn't eat the tuna, I gasped and yelled, "You're having a baby!" I am literally crying for you right now! And your own studio! Congratulations, Jamie! 💜🎉

Radioactive chicken and the ligma fork; what's not to like?
A crossover I never knew I needed!! Jamie should try the ligma fork it might change his life!
One day, Jamie will have the courage to rate his food one through teen. Okay, thank you.
Congratulations on the baby, and the move! I won't lie, I will miss the old kitchen, as it was warmer looking, and more inviting, but if this helps your life, that is the most important thing.
Love love love the old school neon sign! My favorite part of every video is when you yell “ Order Up” ! 💋🧚🏻♀️❤️🇺🇸
The room layout and arrangement looks like your new studio is an extra apartment in the same building? That would make the commute pretty easy. Congrats!
I thought the same thing!
I'm wondering if they can actually afford TWO NYC apartments? Maybe they can sublet the bedroom in the filming studio? Rents being so high now, I dunno.
Same! I was convinced they remodeled the old kitchen and moved into a new place that wouldn't be filmed.
That "far corner" is perfect for your intimate chats with the audience. I hope the couch arrives sooon, you're going to need it. Congrat.
17 minutes of encompassing why I watch your videos. You bring the human side to cooking and I love it. Congratulations to you both!
There's a reason we all keep coming back to watch your videos. And it's not just the recipes. Congratulations! You deserve it!
No sirens were used during the making of this video, meaning everyone is okay!
Congrats to the both of you!, both for growing, for the baby and for the new studio! I love to binge watch the episodes from this channel, and to see how relatable you are making so many different recipes!
My heart dropped when I saw this...I thought you were gonna stop making videos! 😰
Me, too...
freakin' click bait! I did too!
I thought he was going to combine his love for sirens and wishing people well by joining the fire brigade. He could cook there too.
Me tooooooo
Really? Why would he quit when he has a baby on the way and just reached his highest success? These are the big $$ days for a TH-camr. It's the dream for so many of them! Jamie is making huge bank now. There's no way anyone would walk away from that!
Awww, I'm so happy for you guys!! Cute lil anti-chef currently baking 😂
This is such a happy-making comment and brought a much-needed smile to my face. Enjoy your "new" cookbooks.
I am tired after work and browsing TH-cam mindlessly. But your comment made me smile. Keep on having fun!
I love Plenty! Can’t wait to see more of it on Anti-Chef.
Ottolenghi's flavours are amazing. His pork belly cooked in apple is a favourite in our household.
Congrats.
This is by far, my favorite cooking channel. Cooking channels, and come and go on my radar but ANTI-CHEF is the one I consistently watch.
I’ve been with this show since London. The guys honesty carries it.
Congratulations on both the baby and studio!
Congrats Jamie! You've come a long way baby! Now with Anti-Chef Jr.
Oh man, big changes, I'm so happy for you! Congratulations on your child and congrats for the new studio! Wishing you and your family well!
Title scared me, I read it in reverse 😂
I always do this 😂 blame it on dyslexia - but it also leads to lots of funny mis-reads
I did the same thing.
Same!!!
Same
Never commented, but have loved your "experiment" for years now.
Love this channel. Don’t doubt how much you (and the long suffering wife) are appreciated. We love anti-chef and Mrs Anti-chef. Thank you both
Watching you learn to cook has been a journey. It’s like having a son that wants to learn to cook. Thank you for sharing the adventures.
Congratulations! That’s huge news! A new family member AND a new studio. Wow… that’s just great. Good for you!
Congratulations on your new baby and your new studio! I have to say that your wife is an absolute saint for dealing with the filming for so long, I’m sure this move is going to make her life less stressful and just in time! Can’t wait to see the videos coming from the new kitchen!
Been with you since Belgium. Just thinking about Charlotte pan right now. She wasn't around for most of the journey, but she brought delight to her many fans.
Congratulations on the new studio and your child.
Delighted by Charlotte pan's repurposing! Happy she made the move.
Congratulations on the big life events Anti-Chef Jamie! 🎉
I enjoy watching you make mistakes. I too am an amateur cook who makes lots of mistakes. You encourage me to keep trying. Thank you and keep it going! Order up!
CONGRATULATIONS 🎉on the baby and your new studio.
The neon sign is perfect! Congratulations and thank you for sharing your journey with us.❤
Mazel tov on all your changes. Your new kitchen has almost exactly the same layout as the old. It should work for you.
Congratulations Jamie. You deserve this. I follow you since you had around 3k subscribers, no kidding. So proud and so happy for you.
Watching you from Kazakhstan ❤ have been enjoying your content for quite some time now. We wish your family all the best things, Jamie! Congratulations on the baby🎉
And the new studio looks really good 👍
You have been always so entertaining and informative. Also the laughs along the way have brought much enjoyment. I am proud to say I've been a follower since that first Canadian kitchen. Your success has been well earned. Thanks so very much.
Tbh, this is the first video in quite some years, that made me genuinely smile throughout the whole thing.
Very happy for your success mate, youve earned it
Baby 🧑🏻🍳Chef YAY!!!🎉 Congratulations !
Dude!!! This is so exciting! (For both you and Kristy 😂) I can't even imagine the amount of mental pressure this is going to relieve for y'all, and I can already tell the new space is more flexible to film in. What a sign of success for you and the channel. Hyped for the next chapter of ANTI-CHEF!!! ❤🎉🍽️
Thanks for the quick glimpse of your set up. We'll be here as long as you keep going. Love from Canada!
I'm so happy and proud for you. New Kitchen, New Dad. Excited to see the rest of your journey. The pic of the sonogram made me burst into tears. Congrats!!!!
Yaaaaaas CONGRATS! To your beautiful wife, your family future on the way, your inspiring supportive relationship, and your new working space. It's all worth celebrating. Thank you, both of you, for being role models.
Congratulations! he looks so healthy! Your videos are how I relax in between feeding a 1.5mo old who's growing big and strong and needs to eat a lot, really feeling your excitement for this one! And the studio looks great! Your life is going to get a million times more wonderful in ways you didn't even know were possible I'm so happy for you two!
Congratulations on the studio and the baby!!
This channel has been everyone who ever wanted to really try and cook something even though we can't really cook. Sometimes we succeed and sometimes we fail. Thank you for making it. thank you for still being here and doing it. Can't wait to see the future shows.
I don't care where you cook; it's all about your personality and what we learn from you. A baby boy, though... so exciting! Congratulations to you and the mother-to-be!
I learned to cook from my grandmothers and mom. And of course cooking shows, I devour them but I have never enjoyed a show as much as yours. I root for you when you struggle and giggle constantly at your failures and successes. Thank you !
I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited for a stranger on the internet and their baby on the way 💙 congratulations one of my absolute favorite channels
Idk how old you are but I’m 39 years old and for some reason I feel so old. So with that being said, I feel like seeing a little brother growing up and I’m so happy for you! Congratulations on your baby and on the new kitchen! Many many blessings and thank you for your videos, I watch them with my 13 year old daughter, we have so much fun watching them! 🫶🏻
Why am i tearing up 🥹🤍 Congratulations!!
I feel like a proud parent, well done! You inspire every person who watches.
Congrats on all of it…new place, new baby, wonderful marriage, success of the show. Well deserved because you have put in the work!
What an awesome update! An ANTI-CHEF baby- yippee!! You'll have the best critic in the years to come. A studio in NYC- what a huge accomplishment, congratulations! My kids are now old enough to watch and love you. Thanks for the awesome content.
Congrats on your new baby! I started watching your channel last year when I wanted help making Julia Childs' orange Bavarois, and I got hooked. My wife and I are expecting our third, and my oldest son, who is 3, loves watching your channel. He calls it "Making Dinner".
OMG! I was excited just for the new studio, but a baby??!! How wonderful!! Congratulations, Jamie and Kristy!!
We found you accidentally 2 years ago, have watched every episode. You always make us laugh and we've enjoyed watching your skills grow. Congratulations on the little one. How exciting ❤❤
Your personality and persistence have kept me coming back.
Congrats on all the new upgrades. Upgrade your workspace, upgrade your family... can't wait to see what you can do in your new space! 🎉
No appologies needed for the kitchen change, it's good to keep your work at work and key rooms of your home available to all who live there. Congratulations!
I've been a fan since 2021. As long as you enjoy doing this we'll keep watching. Thanks for the great content. LFG 500,000!
I've never smiled thru an entire video before. Congrats on everything! How wonderful 🎉
Congrats on the studio and the impending addition to the family! This will be an occasion to start a new "Kids favourites" series!
Congratulations Jamie! You have been instrumental in this grandma's survival. I celebrate your success in every aspect of your life. Love you so much, (don't make it weird) and I hope my new grandson is as sweet as you are!❤
omg congrats on everything!!!! you are one of my absolute favorites, and not just among food youtubes i subscribe to. so damn proud of you ❤️ AND YOUR ORDER UP LIGHT ON THE WALL!!!
I'm a new subscriber. I found your channel by accident a month ago and I just love it and you so much. Your vibes are delightful. Wishing you all the success and happiness!
Also, I love the Order Up! sign.
Same! Weird that I didn’t know about this honestly
Mazel Tov on the little dude! The new studio looks great! Congrats on the good things Jaime!
