  • DANGEROUS ROADS LEAD TO BEAUTIFUL PLACES.
The Halsema Highway was once considered one of the most dangerous roads in the world. It's improved a lot since then, but it still has its sections!
In this episode, we ride from Baguio to Sagada on this fantastic highland road. What an adventure it was!

Dejabu KD! Clearly, ur demeanor shows a deep emotion n a feeling of nostalgia being in a place u've been some years ago. I'm emotional, too. The fact that I grew up in La Union province but the closest I've seen the Cordies is Bagiuo twice before heading out to Good Ole USA...

Trully, Cordillera brings back memories... when I was in my younger years without electricity climbs the tip of the mountain in the late afternoon to see the distant lights of downtown wondering how to live there in plains. Same thing maybe someone wondering in the plains how it feels to live in the mountain.
Enjoy, record the memories not only in your memory cards but in your heart and mind.
      Cheers!

The Philippines is a beautiful and an alluring country. The people are warm, kind and respectful. Greetings from a police smiling at KD show how warm and respectful they really are. The mountains in pine trees and glorious rice and vegetable terraces are a sight to behold.

I just love to see this. My first trip to Philippines was in december 2016. I first went to Banaue and Sagada. I just love it there, like you say, peaceful. It is fresh air and so beautiful. I hope to soon go there again. Then I also will add Bontoc and Baguio.
You are one of the best Vloggers of all out there. You are genuine, humble but with good sense of humour. Also very respectful to all people. Greetings from Sweden!

I am really so glad you visited my town and my roots, the Cordilleras! By your lenses you show the life and resilient filipinos in the mountains! The weather is what I am always looking forward to when I come home. Being overseas for so long and watching this reminds me of this of my love for my province. Thank you KD for visiting us finally!!! Your fan from Atok here.

Wow!😲 Such spectacular country there high up in the mountains! And the views.🤯 Love those drone shots.❤ I got a sense of the peace and calm you were feeling as you were driving at the upper heights of the mountains. Except, of course, at the point where only motors could go through. Just seeing your video as you drove through there was giving me that queasy feeling in the pit of my stomach. (I have what I call a healthy fear of heights, especially when there is no barrier between me and such a frightening drop off.) That mountain drive on the Halsema Highway looks so exhilarating, though.
Who knew Kumander Daot could do emo? 16:40 Watch out, Kulas!

I miss that place, I was there last December to do Sumaguing all the way to it's smaller chambers going deeper and Lumiang cave connection. If you're into adventure it is a must, but if you're not, the town is nice and peaceful also has really nice cafe's. I was born in Baguio but moved to Vancouver, Sagada reminds me of how my place in Baguio looked like 25 years ago.

Wow Kumander D, believe me we're balling tears making me miss home😍😹... you just showed the intersections in Abatan Buguias Benguet where my home town to your left side towards Mankayan town... not Monkayo😹... I remember Kulas BecomingFilipino had his drone to this area in the past too that made me watched/subscribed his channel back then. Great to know you've been enthralled amongst the PHILIPPINES CAPITAL PINES OF CHILL with your pals kabayans. Enjoying every bit of your journey and grateful for sharing with us FBI abroad (full-blooded Igorots). If I'm not mistaken you just experienced our wild mountain tea endemic to Benguet or mountain provinces we call it GIPAS or GEEPAS tea. I miss it so much!😢😂 Here's a recent vlog from FDG Stages shared about the tea th-cam.com/video/-KT8xI_yOUs/w-d-xo.html or you may ask the lady host if that tea is Gipas. It's never serve or rarely serve in any restaurants or Karinderias in the past but time has change at least they try to share them with the public now 😄 otherwise, it was a secret local tea amongst other wild berries/mushrooms we have in the mountain provinces, oops😹 ingat as inyong tatlo💕

Love the drone shots Kumander D! You really showed the winding and sometimes dangerous road. Most videos I’ve seen were the hanging coffins right away but never the road and the vegetable terraces on the hills. By just viewing, it looks peaceful and your face speaks of it. You look so calm and happy. Your cheeks are pinkish seems like you will thrive there if you try to live there for a while. Thank you for showing us Sagada and the road to it from Baguio city.

You were looking forward to a veggie meal after passing highland vegetations along the way, the funny thing is, you opened up servings of lowland veggies. However, I must say beef in Benguet is so good! Cows are being fed grasses on pasture lands. That system of hauling veggies using the wheel of a vehicle is surely a good help to the farmers. Am sure Nhel and Lily will love to vacation there. Thank you KD for these awesome awesome drone footages of Baguio, Benguet and Mountain Province. “Ganasem di biyahe ya pasyar mo” (Enjoy your trip and visit). Much 💕.

So many awesome moments in this one Kumander. There’s many awesome places in the Philippines, but there is something so powerful about the Cordilleras. Even the quick, simple statement by the guy with the Tamaraw pulling up gulay, “Everything is possible.” speaks to the strength of the mountain people. While I enjoy watching the adventures of Kulas and Bret, I love your style….it’s more documentary and less “reality TV”. Keep doing what you’re doing brother.

DANGEROUS ROADS ..... Super like .... Yours truly was Born in Sagada but raised in the beautiful Baguio City. Watching this made me miss my origins even more. I cry while mesmerized how it has deeply improved through the years. The awesome views amidst the treacherous mountains will lead us in awe and brings joy and tranquility .... Like you, I'm not a coffee drinker too. I don't want to be addicted Lol. Warm water or hot tea is good enough for me
... Enjoy the adventure. Hope I can do a reaction video to this if it would be alright with you. I would make it shorter and would credit you like what I do with some of Kulas' videos of Becoming Filipino .. .
... Enjoy the thrilling and enchanting journey as you find more places to conquer .... and you are right indeed, Dangerous roads lead to beautiful places .... Have a great day !!!

Anselmo my Auntie was born in the little hospital in Sagada and spent her first 5 years in the little town of Besao near Sagada. Then WW2 began and her family were marched and trucked to Bagiuo by the invading forces and then eventually to spend 4 years in Sto Tomas Prison. Years later she was able to go back and see her childhood home in Besao and many early day friends. Great video Anselmo thanks!
