    Nice review. I have the same unit and I am quite happy with it. You don't need to drag the tip once you get the arc going. Just touch the tip on what you want to cut, pull the trigger and then continue with the tip slightly off the metal.
    I must build a stand like you have for yours, great idea.

    I have PLASMARGON Cut50 HF, works fine, 230 volt only model. Added larger water separator to compressor because moisture is hard on consumables. Running at 70psi. For all cutting. Still use oxy-propane for heavy cutting and cut off disks occasionally.

    • @daleofalltrades
      @daleofalltrades  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice! Bigger water separator is a plus. Unfortunately I don't have oxy acetylene torch at he but it is definitely needed for the thicker stuff.

      Plasma cutter is a great choice for re bar or bed frame iron, the hard spots in that reclaimed steel destroys metal cutting saw blades real quick.

    I have a 15A circuit at home, will I get away with using it or will it flip the breaker?

    • @daleofalltrades
      @daleofalltrades  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will start by saying it's probably not recommend. But if you were to use it on that breaker make sure it's the only thing running on the entire circuit. I have ran mine on a 20A just to see. The cut on 110 in general is not great but it will work. Anyway I happened to use it on n the same circuit my air compressor was on as soon as the compressor would kick on in the middle of a cut it would throw the breaker every time. Hope this helped!

      @daleofalltrades  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you talking about the 120v to 220v adapter? Or the title of the product on amazon as ac-dc? Depending on your answer I can answer your question better.

    Hi! I'm thinking on buying this model of plasma cutter to cut only sheet metal, 18 and 16ga maximum. Because i need to cut shapes, holes, curves and other things. I don't need to cut thick metal or tubing (for that i prefer to use my hacksaw, old school style). Do you think this machine will do well for me? My air compressor is small (24 liters) and only reaches 90psi, but i've read that for sheet metal not too thick, 30psi is good enough, so maybe i wont run out of air during the cut. What do you think? Greetings from Mexico

    • @daleofalltrades
      @daleofalltrades  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching. I think it would work fine for you. I would be a little concerned about running out of air. The pressure won't be an issue. You may just find yourself waiting for the compressor to catch up in between cuts. Hard to say for sure.

    This Cut 50 is the exact model I am thinking about buying, this model doesn't require a air compressor??

    • @daleofalltrades
      @daleofalltrades  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It does require an air compressor. To my knowledge all plasma cutters require compressed air to blast the plasma out.

      Ok. I thought so too but you didn't mention connecting to a compressor. Is it a simple connection to make? Also, is this just a cutter or does weld also?

    • @daleofalltrades
      @daleofalltrades  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct, I did however mention the regulator and what settings I had mine set to while I was hooking up an air compressor line to it. I should have stated what air compressor I was running though. Sorry about that. It's a medium sized 40gal harbor freight single stage compressor

      No problem. Glad to help! That plasma cutter doesn't require a very large compressor. Just keep in mind the smaller air compressor you go the more you will have to wait between fill cycles.
