@@spicy110 I like this motorcycle. The only problem is that I'm 194-195 cm tall or 6.4. So you know me since you're the same height, I'm interested in how you look on that motorcycle? Because I didn't have the opportunity to ride this motorcycle. It's a shame, my friend, that you didn't take a picture of yourself on the motorcycle, from the side. Well, I'm really interested in your opinion on whether this bike would suit taller people, like me or you.

I've been been riding a Zontes ZT125-U (just as impressive) for nearly 2 years (I have asked you if you could review zontes) and it's amazing and right up there on quality and performance with top brands. CST are China biggest seller's and the best China do however when I fitted Michelin Street pilots you could really tell the difference. Zontes for the last 2 years have really stepped up their game and they 2ay they're going in 10 years will be in the top 5. I have the eco on mine and it's a placebo. My bike has the same bars, bac lit switchgear, lever guards, Bosch, ABS, Bosch EFI, cast aluminium swingarm, fully keyless. Its worth a ride Spicy.

I've had a ZT U125 for 2 years with keyless and the the button release for fuel and seat and have had no problems. The important thing is to replace the batteries in the fobs every 6 months as they're always on, when low the bike beeps 3 times when turned on to warn you to replace and have a max range of 2 meters.

Zontes in my opinion are the best Chinese manufacturer I've come across to date. I'm on my third bike. No. 1 was a tiger 125cc, then I bought and still own a phantom 250s. I've had that for almost 7 years. Last year I bought one of the last 310r models. Comfy, punchy and economical. Forget the eco button. It does virtually nothing. Leave it in sports mode. Good review. Buy one, you won't regret it.

    • @kevindarkstar
      @kevindarkstar ปีที่แล้ว +1

On the eco button if it actually does nothing makes no difference where you put it, but if it ups the economy a bit and auto switches to sport over 7 thousand rpm I'd kinda be inclined to keep it on eco 🤷🏻‍♂️

Impressive little thing for the price. First time I've seen an electronic fuel cap, seat release, tyre temperature and wearable wireless key. My 2018 1290 Superduke didn't half half of those and cost three times the price. 188kg on a 350 single though... ouch. For comparison the Vitpilen 401 is 154kg and a bit cheaper.

Clearly, I do not review bikes without checking their reliability at all. Thankfully in this situation, it's very easy. Andy is an independent business so he only sells the brands he wants to. As he has to do the work for the warranties he doesn't want bikes coming back a lot. One of the reasons he sells this brand and not other possible ones is based on the fact they do not come back with issues often.

3000 mile service intervals, horrendous depreciation and all those electronics, are just more to go wrong. To be fair a dealer, I know in London, said Zontes are one of the better Chinese brands. I bought a Keeway from new, was done by 12,000 miles so never again. You should try and get your hands on a Benelli Leoncino 800 Trail. Saw one of those a couple of months back. An Italian guy had ridden with his missus to England on tour. Really cool bike...

    • @spicy110

Benelli is Chinese made I believe. Chinese brands are smart now too. They will brand their bikes using initials of their Chinese names or make it sound exotic/European as they know no one's gonna buy an obvious chinese brand if it's called "qingqi" or "jiansheng". They rather do QJ or JS motors 😉

The Chinese can make good quality stuff. It’s all based on the price. As consumers we want a bargain and they build things down to the lower price and it’s therefore crap. Zonte isn’t expensive or cheap, middle of the road prices and quality.

I had a G1 Scrambler 125 and also a Honda CB125R. I thought the Zontes was far the better bike and was around £1200 less.

"Nylon" does not refer to what the tread is made from, it refers to the reinforcing material in the structure of the tyre.
Several TH-camrs seem to make this mistake, including TMF. Bizarre that you'd all think tyres were nylon not rubber...

True, That is something I know but always forget. It is more they are known for being hard and dodgy in the wet (To be clear I rode on them for 7 yrs without issue but people always say)

Call me sceptical but my impression is lots of electric gadgets to endure cold wet Blighty.

seems brilliant for a 350, only 20 less horse power than my versys, which 20hp, lets be honest isnt much, swapping the pipes would give 5HP but remove probably 10KG, then NGK cables, caps and plugs, that there would add probably between 3 - 10HP, then power commander to bring up the rest of that HP and youd have a 350 with 650cc power and torque ratios.

Nice review, only issue I have is it's made in China. I know so much of what we use in the west is manufactured there and that's clearly a problem that needs to change. Euro and Japanese manufacturers need to stay on top of their game or CST/Zontes may one day eclipse them! My father lived in japan back in the 50s and 60s, he told me a story about a guy that tried to convince him to invest in a Japanese car company, he laughed in the guys face and told him the Japanese will never make a better car than Ford or Chevrolet. The car company they were discussing is better known as Honda.

You know even the Japanese make their 125cc bikes in China now? Honda make one of their 125cc bikes in a air conditioning factory up the road from where lexmotos are built.

@@spicy110true, but could there be a difference between the quality control and expectations of the two companies here, I sometimes wonder if the likes of honda, while building the bike in China exert a tighter control of the manufacturing process, thoughts 🤔

To be fair it only has 4 more than most moden bikes and they all relate to the keyless system. As I have said before I do not see the point in keyless systems but it does work and going on how many other big brands like triumph and BMW who use it, people seem to like it.

😮I think Zontes have let themselves down it's ugly and to much plastic. Ugly seat stuck in to the tank. Should have made it look like a classic British bike.

I guess they have to appeal to the market. Trends have moved towards the ADV / Adventure style.

I do not disagree with your point and I have talked about this side of things before. Problem is they are they opinions we have and just like nearly all electrical things you own they are also made in or part made in china.

@@spicy110 Agree, but the standard of vehicles they are producing should not be for the UK market. Other segments too, "MG" etc... however my Polestar is a good car, use it every now and then.
