Loving the progress. I was thinking of removing my stumps then mowing the grass because I keep losing trees in the long grass! Then good to see the replanting. Thanks for the series
Oh that was my tip for ya about chipping the tips of the trees. 😂 My one hick with your videos Hugz, the word forward, there are two R's in the word. All said and done great videos, love them. 😂
@hugz6559 all good buddy, also next time you're planting trees, plant a certain number of lodgepole every 4/8/12 or even better every 2 months in game, iirc lodgepole mature at 3.4 years, 40 months. So by staggering your planting then you'll have year round trees. 😉
Oooo nice way to run the off-season! Whoever made that suggestion major cred to you. Checking in on my playthrough. The lodgepoles hit 2nd growth and I started replanting the second plot. PS: Another idea would be to plant oaks for the off season. Takes about 5 months (Plant in February and be ready in July?) to get into first growth and you can chip those. UNfortunately may not be able to cutt them with the Komatsu tho.
@@hugz6559 Just sold my 3rd year harvest. 1.5Mil liters of wood chips. 2.2million dollars. I am half tempted to start a new save file though vause i want to do more than just chip wood, burnin me out a little.
I have planted a field with trees, with AI helpers (so everything is close and in line - easier to fell), I think I will plant a new field every year, so I have a field of trees for every winter (for when there is nothing else to harvest) 😁
Maybe once the kubotta gets into disrepair you could replace it with something a bit more powerfull like a telehandler or a larger front loader. (Attempt #2 of recomending the merlo). Keep this videos going, great work.
@@hugz6559 The Merlo with the log fork works like a dream. It's powerful and stable. The grabber is a wee bit weak but having some give when moving logs keeps the flip-overs down to a minimum. Plus it's amazing for loading the chipper. With the 3 point hitch it's a superior all-rounder vehicle.
I just downloaded that 3rd party chipper mod, the big blue peterson one (i think thats its name) leased it and a excavator for 30k for the month and chipped the timber I've been storing throughout the year and produced 900k in woodchips i do something similar all solid 10 meter lengths get stored in a silo bunker for chipping in the winter, any thin or weird shaped bits go in the sawmill for beams
I did try but the tractor wasn't as good at pushing the stacks around with the winch. In the Kubota I can mess around with the log grapple and move it up and down and it seems to help move things.
Lol i dug up a field to keep track and then planted. When i did it i put an AI worker on that and then i cleared out another plot of land when it was planting. It went through 8 pallets if 300 trees. Lol. I have so many trees growing 😭 😩. And they are Oak so fast growth and dense for chipping. But so hard to chip. Lol ☺️

This was the episode I've been waiting for lol
God damed! Clear your stumps! 🙄😉 After using the winch for pulling you can use the shield for pushing! 😉

That's my New York accent shining through lol. We drop a lot of R's.

13:45 .. resorting to playing the old skool game of pick-up sticks.. lol
Biodiversity for the win. I would suggest planting one specie for chipping and at least one different specie for lumber. Loving these vids.
Thanks for the tip! Biodiversity is definitely key.
Next the biggest wood chipper🔥
Good that u finally planting so the serie dont end there. But keep in mind you can plant the huge ones if. Gonna drop em whole into a factory
The tiny sappling go on the excavator tool. 👌

Sounds like you've got a good system going! Thanks for the suggestion!

Try to use the lumber mill and make wooden beams and planks, just keep it filled with wood.

Hey hugs I love ur videos not gonna lie I love and ceap the great work we love U ❤❤
You're a legend! I appreciate it!

I did check out the merlo but I thought the log fork looked a little bit small. Is it difficult to use?

I have cut so many trees down on this map my framerates increased 😅 fun vid🎉
praise saplings
U should get the Small saw mill and process the logs to planks ur get more for it
Lodge Pole trees take a long time to grow.
loving the serie, but how about the riverbrings serie?
I will still be doing that one as well! Just been very busy with the Lumberjacks Saga since it takes a long time to record these episodes.

The stumps are infuriating, any chance of doing some grinding
Yes I will pretty soon. Its just a very tedious task so I am putting it off lol.
Check out the Real Mower mod. You can get rid of the bushes.
do a clean up of the properties you should get a full trailer plus some
could pry save some time if you used the winch on the tractor in its lowered state to push logs instead of the kobota

That is a lot of trees! I'm sure the extra work will be worth it. 😄
@hugz6559 I sure hope so
I dont think the trees that are in the game already 🤔 grow. I think only the one we plant grow.
Hmm. I wonder if its different since this is a mod map though?
@hugz6559 I don't know. I was thinking of cheating i just putting the fully grown trees down for like 3k but that's OP lol 😆 😅
why u don't store wood chips in another trailer?
No trailer would be big enough unfortunately. Its easier just to keep them in the wood chipper since it has infinite space.
