At first I wondered how different they might be but then I remember that Alizebeth Bequin, Eisenhorn's blank, is one. I just can't believe that they have no soul. Maybe we just don't fully understand how they work.
Its entirely likely. I have issues with that one too. But I am hoping to go into that at another point in the general psyker entry. |Could be a long one at this rate. :)
My personal theory is that their souls are "flipped"; that they have a soul, and it has an imprint in the warp but it's imprint is also flipped; so rather than adding to the warp it subtracts from it.
We know the Necrons and the C'tan have no soul and they don't create this kind of reaction. Maybe it's not that they have no soul but that they block the connection between the material plane and the Warp? If that's the case what people fear so much in them is not looking at something that's empty, but being in the presence of something that cuts off your body and mind from your soul. I would imagine suddenly finding yourself cut off from your soul to be quite unsettingly.
Sisters of silence lore video as soon as Bruva Alfa Busa uploads something including sisters of silence? Coincidence? I think not!!! P.S. thank you for this upload this faction is greatly under appreciated
I love this video, the Sisters of Silence need more love and I learned some new stuff from this vid. Also Eisenhorn was a real bad ass, he was a psyker and keep a blank Alizebeth in his Entourage for so many years. I really hope she makes it into the TV show.

Dear brother Gribble, I am incredibly grateful for your service. Incredibly. I am intensely proud that I can help in even the tiniest of ways even for a second. THANK YOU!
Thank you for making a Sisters of Silence video. GW has done a great job with Adepta Sororitas (and so have you, btw), and now they just need to turn their sights toward the Sisters of Silence for a bit.
Baldermort - much as I love your longer stories, this is easily my second favorite of your shorter stories (the entry on Power Armour with the Smurf ending a war with a picture viewer is my favorite).
The detail I liked about the pariahs, is that they're so revolting to anyone with a soul, they are often killed by their own parents at birth. The hatred is an irrational one, too, for a pariah could have very attractive physique, and it wouldn't change the situation for them. Their presence to a psyker is excruciatingly painful and debilitating, but the normal people are not merely "uneasy" near them either. Its not like seeing an android. An android does not instill that urge to get it away from you, lock it up and burn it, and then burn the house it was in, and the city the house was in. I think the null assassins get some sort of masking device, sisters of silence do not. Not sure if the intro managed to capture the sheer disdain their "normal" allies would have towards them. Makes me wonder how they manage to breed, too. Great narration, as always.
The temptation to undertake some Sisters of Battle painting grows ever more with these lore videos... oh, sorry. *proceeds to say the same in hand gestures, adds "The Emperor protects!"* ;) Magnificent storytelling as ever. I have no problem binging your content from years past to the latest ones, Baldermort! Thank you!

Amazing content as always, I just can't help but wonder how you're able to pump these out so fast considering you give us plenty of your mini audio-dramas that are a knockout every time.
CyberSlayer128 practice, drive, lack of sleep, dedication, more loss of sleep. I work as fast as I can. I honestly want to do this and make it sustainable. So I work. Then I work. Then I work some more.
Love the homemade lore stories from this channel. Next time GW has a short story competition for new authors to submit work you gotta go for it man. A lot of your work is even better then the official lore.
The colorful descriptions of the intrinsic reaction normal people have to the sisters makes the fact that can and do have children very amusing. It means someone somewhere ends such a description with the thought. 'I'd still tap that.'

The sisters of Silence have always fascinated me and this may start a heated debate but I would love to see female Space Marines one day from GW. Great job sir.
In the grim darkness of the far future, ginger ladies can kill space wizards by proximity, I always like their lore being psychic blanks and all making them one of the unsolved mysteries of the universe that even the warp doesn’t know leaving it to the imagination and making the universe more lovecraft as a whole
I always love me some badass women in power armor, and none are more badass than the sisters of Silence. They, along with the sister's of battles and the guard are ym favourite factions in 40k.
The last 40k novel I finished was Watchers of the Throne.... I did enjoy how amusingly grumpy the sisters were... Although I was a little puzzled by what seemed to be a telekinetic power in thought mark?
I’m not 100% sure, but from what I remember of blanks, they can project their null field as an almost corporeal force. Not sure if that’s what you meant but hope it helps!
Shock Fist yeah I definitely need to do more homework. Things have moved on a lot then. A solid field? Really.... sigh. I have to hit the more contemporary books. Lol. :).
Baldermort's Guide to Warhammer it works sort of like the Celexus assassins headcannon thing 🙂 it can be used to blast normal mortals and psykers, and I’m guessing the sisters can also use it as a finer tool too
Yea, it's more the dissonance of, hang on, why is this not a psychic power then? Is there like an anti-warp space nulls are drawing their powers from 😂
If one was unfortunately somehow shot into the 40k universe, they best pray that they are a null. At least you have something that can keep the super crawlies away.
As beautiful as they are deadly with their arms. I've always wondered that maybe the reason they have such a reaction to the warp is, they have a soul from the sea of souls before it got corrupted. So the reaction is the souls trying to rewrite itself maybe?

'Hello darkness, my old friend I've come to talk with you again Because a vision softly creeping Left its seeds while I was sleeping And the vision that was planted in my brain Still remains Within the sound of silence...' - Ancient Terran hymnal, M2. 'IN SILENCE, ONLY truth remains.' - Ancient Terran proverb, author unknown. 'We are the Emperor’s blades, and we do His will..' - Sister-Excrutiatus, Emrilia Herkaaze of the White Talon Cadre 'They were the Emperor’s most fearsome witch-seekers. A cadre of women recruited from across known space, taken from orphanages and trained to be superlative killers. Their name came from their Oath of Tranquillity, a vow given freely on ascension from novice to full Sisterhood, never to speak aloud until their duty ended. They were as vital to the Imperium as the great warlords of the Legiones Astartes, but for different reasons. Each of the Sisters was the possessor of the Pariah gene, each a psychic null whose existence made no impact on the great unseen ocean of the warp, where the inchoate energy of all living spirits was said to reside. They were the antithesis to the gifted psykers who served as Navigators, astropaths and Librarians in the Emperor’s name; their presence alone was enough to torment a being with psionic talents. Thus, they were the best equipped to hunt down and terminate any mind-witches and renegade psykers who might threaten the stability of the Imperium.' - About Silent Sisterhood. 'THE FULL SCOPE and range of the Black Ships and their duties were known only to a select few among the upper tiers of the Silent Sisterhood, the lords of the great Council of Terra and the Emperor himself, but the basic tenet of their works were well recognised. The exact number and disposition of Black Ships that prowled the galaxy purposely remained an unknown; all that could be certain was that the worlds of the Imperium would witness one of them appear in their skies at a preordained time of tithing, ready to accept their cargo. The vessels did not take tribute in the form of riches or chattel - as much as they were warships, the Aeria Gloris and her sister-craft were also great asylum-barges where those revealed to show the taint of the pskyer were interred. Every world beneath the Emperor’s light was duty-bound to give up those of its populace marked with the potential - latent or not - for psychic talent; and those that were not given freely, those that escaped the net, these too were the quarry of the Black Ships and the Sisterhood. In the dark holds of their dungeon decks, psykers of every stripe and power were corralled and tested. Many did not endure the process well, and perished under the harsh glare of the Vigilators and Prosecutors. Others, those too damaged by their own warped psyches or too dangerous to be allowed to live, would quietly be put down and the ashes of their corpses cast into suns. The ones who were strong enough to survive and pliant enough to accede to the will of the Imperium were the lucky few. For them, further, harder testing lay ahead in the ironclad mind-halls of the City of Sight on Terra itself, the headquarters of the Divisio Astra Telepathica. There, they would take the first steps upon the road to the ritual of soul-binding and recruitment into the ranks of the astropathic choirs. The duty of the hunt and the stewardship was a harsh one that no ordinary human could hope to accomplish; indeed, to even conceive of crewing a Black Ship with mere troopers from the Imperial Army, or even the great Astartes, would be a path to ruin. Such were the powers of some psykers that the perceptions of a mind could be twisted and reordered to their will. It was not uncommon for the worst of the psi-witches to cloud thoughts, to coerce and control through pure exercise of will. A normal man could be made to unlock cages and think no ill deed done, never knowing that he had freed a monster. Mindless servitors alone could not be trusted to deal with so complex an obligation. Only the Sisterhood, who brought with them the gift of Silence, had the strength to hold the witches in check. This they did through fealty to the Emperor, this they did through the very action of their beating hearts and the blood in their veins. This duty they marked with their vow never to speak. Only the Sisterhood, who brought with them the gift of Silence, had the strength to hold the witches in check. This they did through fealty to the Emperor, this they did through the very action of their beating hearts and the blood in their veins. This duty they marked with their vow never to speak. For the Sisters of Silence were poison to witchkind. Chance mutation within the human genome, once in every million, might create a psyker; but in once in several billion would yield the precious jewel of the Pariah gene, the Untouchable. It was the cold logic of evolution that brought them forth. If the unfettered mental power of a psyker existed, then in balance there had to be those at the opposite end of the genetic spectrum - those whose minds were the absolute antithesis of the warp-touched, whose presence alone was enough to nullify the raging psi-fire. Each Sister was an Untouchable, a psychic blank forever protected from the sorcery of the witches they hunted. Immune to psychic attack, their very aura enough to disrupt and distress their prey, there were no better warriors to fulfil this great duty. But still, at day’s end, they were not superhuman. Trained hard to fight alongside the elite of the Emperor’s military, certainly, respected and venerated by all, undoubtedly, but still human. Still weighed down with human doubts and human fears.' - Black Fleet and the Silent Sisterhood.
"I am Skarbrand! Demon lord of Khorne! No one can face me and live! I feel no fear! But that thing..." points to Jeneta Krole "that thing terrifies me."
If Sisters of Silence are so effective, imagine how potent would be chapter of Astartes that entirely consists of pariahs. Possibly clones of a pariah enhanced with a Gene-Seed (might require some genetical engineering to preserve the pariah gene of a recipient ) and Primaris modifications, equipped with Animus Speculums of course. Basically anti-grey knights. As a bonus such chapter would be extremely resistant to corruption by chaos.
That's a good point the Custodies during the War of the Webway were the only ones who basically work in tandem with the Sisters and they can also communicate with them through prolonged camaraderie ( it's the Custodies who else could do this eh?!)
My lord Baldermort, might I request a follow up video on one of my favourite characters in the law, Jenitia Krole? The Knight-Commander of the Silent Sisterhood is the only female model in the Forge World Horus heresy series to date, but by the Emperor is she badass! The only mortal (not Primarch, Astartes, mechanicum, or Custodes) to be one of the Emperor's inner circle besides Malcador. She scares freaking Demons to death!

DID he? Oh cobblers. I did it after showcasing them in my Saturday night thing. Weird. Very. :)
I love this video, the Sisters of Silence need more love and I learned some new stuff from this vid. Also Eisenhorn was a real bad ass, he was a psyker and keep a blank Alizebeth in his Entourage for so many years. I really hope she makes it into the TV show.
Bohdan Bilas I can’t see them doing it without her, can you? :).
Thanks for listening brother Bohdan. :).
@@Baldermort It could focus on his younger adventures. So she might be season 2 or 3 but she will make it in, I am so excited for the show, I am hoping it will get my non warhammer friends into warhammer.
Bohdan Bilas it’s tv land, so nothing will be sacred. Not order of events or facts surrounding them, if they can get a ‘twist’ by making it different. Like the new BL books. Sigh. So be prepared for fuckery from them. :(.
Yes! I love the Sisters of Silence! I’m so glad they’re getting an update soon
To the 18 people who disliked this; why? It's called feedback. Give it to the legendary man known as Baldermort.
Dear Baldermort,
I just wanted to say thank you for your uploads as I am a currently forward deployed troop and on the rare instances I can get a WiFi signal your soothing voice helps to bring me some peace and calm.
I've waited so long for this thank you honorable Lore Master!
Tyler Robins thank you for your patience with me brother Robins. :). Got there though. :).

Love the homemade lore stories from this channel. Next time GW has a short story competition for new authors to submit work you gotta go for it man. A lot of your work is even better then the official lore.
For such a bombastic style, "toodle-oo" was a masterstroke. Love your work!

With these videos I will become more knowledgeable about Warhammer 40k than I ever realized I would.
Yeah, I know what you mean about thoughtmark. I am still processing that one myself. :)
I’m not 100% sure, but from what I remember of blanks, they can project their null field as an almost corporeal force.

Baldermort's Guide to Warhammer it works sort of like the Celexus assassins headcannon thing 🙂 it can be used to blast normal mortals and psykers, and I’m guessing the sisters can also use it as a finer tool too

As beautiful as they are deadly with their arms. I've always wondered that maybe the reason they have such a reaction to the warp is, they have a soul from the sea of souls before it got corrupted. So the reaction is the souls trying to rewrite itself maybe?

'We are the Emperor’s blades, and we do His will..' - Sister-Excrutiatus, Emrilia Herkaaze of the White Talon Cadre
'They were the Emperor’s most fearsome witch-seekers.
