As always, it's a great video; I had problems getting this working, so I had to reset Maya. Here is how you do it if you are having issues like me: Navigate to C:\Users\\Documents\maya\ (e.g., C:\Users\John\Documents\maya\2022 for Maya 20XX). Delete the entire folder. This will reset Maya.
This helped me a lot thanks for the video! One question: How can I get an image like the end of the video? When I rendered it, it seems like there is no angle on sword. It looks like bended surface.
Hi perhaps try hardening the edges and make sure you have a couple light sources. Sometimes it's a matter of moving some lights around until you get the reflections you like.
This tutorial is great but it would be really handy if you could also show how to UV unwrap models like this. I don't think I'm doing a good job putting the cuts in the right places because once i go to straighten the UVs, things get really wonky
Hi I'll see if I can make a similar prop and add a UV unwrapping component to the tutorial. I don't add it to every video cause it's pretty boring for a lot of people plus there are some good UV basics courses out there already. I'll take a look though.
I have to make a model in really short amout of time, you are a life savor
Man, you really did me a modelling assignment, thanks!
No problem!
i love your videos. you make things so simple and easy to understand!
