- A toothache is something we all have experienced at least once in our lifetime, and over 90% of adults have had some form of tooth decay. Fortunately, there are more than affordable treatment methods you can try at home to kill a toothache in a minute.
A cold compress is effective for any kind of pain you are experiencing. Peppermint tea smells great and has some numbing properties. Hydrogen Peroxide is a pain reliever that will help you manage the discomfort. It can not only reduce plaque but also heal bleeding gums and kill the bad bacteria. You can use it as mouthwash. Clove has been treating toothaches for ages as it has eugenol, which is a natural antiseptic. It has been widely used in Ayurveda and Chinese medicine.
Guava leaves are anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial. They not only alleviate toothaches but also relieve mouth ulcers and swollen gums. Its antibacterial and antioxidant properties make thyme and excellent toothache treatment tool. Wheatgrass has antibacterial properties, which offer both short-term and long-term benefits while preventing tooth decay and pain. Garlic kills harmful bacteria and works as a pain reliever. Saltwater is a natural disinfectant, and also an easy and effective remedy to cure a toothache. Onion contains phytochemicals that target the germs responsible for the infection and gives you a break from the pain.

SUMMARY
-Use an ice pack or put ice in a plastic bag and wrap it with a thin cloth, place this on the aching tooth for 15 minutes to numb the nerves.
-Add 1 teaspoon of dried peppermint leaves to a cup of boiling water and let it brew for 20 minutes. Then, use the mixture to rinse your mouth.
-Mix 3% hydrogen peroxide with equal parts water. Do not swallow it. Once you spit it out, make sure to rinse your mouth with pure water a few times.
-In a pinch, use a small amount of powdered clove on the tooth or chew the whole clove a little to release its oil. Also, you can use a tiny amount of clove oil, about 2 drops, and place it on the affected area until the pain subsides.
-Either simply chew a leaf or two until the juice starts working on the affected tooth. Or, place few guava leaves in boiling water, allow the liquid to cool to a warm temperature, and then add a sprinkle of sea salt. Use this solution as a mouthwash.
-Mix a few drops of thyme essential oil with water on a cotton ball. Once the oil is diluted, apply the cotton ball to the aching area.
-For best results chew wheatgrass directly or use its juice as a mouthwash.
-The best approach to using garlic as a toothache remedy is to either make a paste of it and place it on the affected area or chew it slowly.
-Mix 1/2 tsp of salt into a glass of warm water and use it as a mouthwash. It also prevents swelling and cleans the area around the toothache.
-Cut off a piece of onion and chew it on the side of your mouth that is in pain. This allows the juice from the onion to penetrate your tooth.
-Press and hold the point behind your outer ankle bone for about a minute with your fingertip. You can also try to press the point between the base of your thumb and your index finger on the back of your hand with the thumb of the other hand. Both should help you feel better.

I work for a pest control company and one of our pesticides is not a chemical but a combination of essential oils. One of those oils if I'm not mistaken is peppermint oil. Funny thing today when I was killing bugs I had absolutely no toothache pain but 5 minutes after starting and about 5 minutes after finishing there was pain before and after. Mind you the mixture rate was extremely high as far as mixing essential oils goes anyway. Let's put it this way as I applied the chemicals to the application area it actually gave people in a neighboring building a headache because one of the other oils was Wintergreen which can in some cases cause extreme headaches especially if mixed in very rich doses.
I found myself asking the universe what I've done wrong to deserve such... I can't even afford proper dental health care, I'd pay anything if I could honestly. With two wisdom teeth making the rest of my premolars decay so I can't eat anything solid it's a nightmare.

I’ve brushed my teeth twice every day, but that didn’t save me from periodontitis though. I’m not sure if mouthwash would have really prevented it. All I know is that the pain gets so bad that it’ll wake me up; salt water really does help, although it does take about 35 minutes to start feeling better.
This video had me trying cold compress, trying to rub/chew on garlic, which made my mouth sting then go numb. Getting ready to try the onion one and warm water and🧂one next. The pain has gone after the garlic though, this is definitely worth a try. Thank u 💓

I have used Clove oil directly on the tooth and it does numb the pain for awhile. I also find that ibuprofen works better than Tylenol. However, I took a Tylenol PM along with one 200 mg of ibuprofen and was able to sleep all night with no pain. I have also used a heating pad against my jaw for comfort. I have a fear of going to the dentist but I will have to call first thing Monday morning. I was hoping it just needs a filling but with this pain it may be too late. 😟

Something that will ease the pain quite a bit is half >warm water< half scope mouth wash (other mouth washes may work). You just keep swishing it in the tooth/teeth that are hurting. I was watching this in extreme pain and started to do it and it is like almost all gone now.

I’m so glad I found this video. I used garlic and it worked immediately 🎉🎉🎉🎉🙌🏾 I was in so much pain, so I took a garlic clove and graded it and took the garlic and placed it on my gums and teeth where I had the pain. It stung for a quick second but immediately it relieved my pain.😊

They all went private a few years ago and I've really noticed the difference -these days it's so common to see people in their 40,s and 50,s with loads of missing teeth ! It's awful. I lost a front tooth on the lower jaw a couple of years ago and now I've got 1 of my main ones at the front at the top coming loose and causing me pain . Toothache is the worst 😟
@@yazajag yeah my insurance doesn't provide dental which is lovely, everytime I go to the dentist I have to pay hundreds upon hundreds of dollars, I know not everyone has dental coverage so I'm sure tons of other people are in the same predicament, I tried to pull a tooth one time at work with my leatherman pliers, huge mistake cause it just snapped off below the gum line and made it way worse, finally saved enough to go to the dentist and they had to surgically remove it, what a disaster. I wouldn't attempt that again unless I literally had no option.

Don't worry you're not alone. I'm in agony,all teeth on the top right are in agony and throat on the right swollen with my ear aching! The organic vanilla worked the best out of all these remedies. Soak a q-tip in the vanilla and hold it against the gum tissue of the aching tooth, first on one side and then the other. Do it a few times for about a minute each time. Has a numbing effect.

I would happy pay to have all my teeth removed and permanent dentures put in their place, had tooth ache on and off for a year! Just want either all the nerves killed so no more pain or have them all removed, even if I have to wait a while for a replacement! And then if you don’t have insurance you get scammed basically, just for a root canal is 3k. I’m writing this to you guys after having averted this crisis. I have an exposed nerve that I touched with my unclean finger. My body started to react and the pain started to take off. I was able to avoid the pain by rinsing my mouth with warm salt water. I rinsed 3 times until my mouth couldn’t take it. I added a lot of salt to the water and it seemed to work. I’ll still need my tooth removed tho. Hopefully this is useful to someone.

Update: it was an infection on my gums. The site was near a tooth where I had a root canal so I had no nerves there. The dentist snipped a bit not a lot of my gum where it was unhealthy. The pain stopped after I rinsed with saltwater and never took off from there.

Thanks for the great advice. I'll give them a try. Unfortunately most people do NOT have dental insurance and the cost for care is astronomical and not affordably for most. I'm going to be forced to go with dentures but can't get to it for a little while. I do have the money and cannot qualify for any financial relief.
Rinsing with salt water is the best remedy!
