    Just a heads up from running mowers for years. Idle your throttle down to low for a few seconds before you shut the machine off.

    Better then tire chains is get a set of used ATV tires or better yet a set of ag bar tires for it. Year round the ag tires make a huge difference. Better traction for mowing and pulling. I built my own little work horse garden tractor a Case 222 built for pulling, as well as snowpushing. I put a new 13hp engine in and I run ag tires on it and on hills, wet areas and pulling on lawns they make a major difference over the turf tires.

      @@tylersowa3858 I made give up using my Cub Cadet 2166 for mowing, it goes through belts like crazy. I picked up a sleeve hitch last week and am trying to find my missing tire chains. I like that cart you have too, it looks light. I have an old heavy steel one.

    Very interesting. I've got similar setup with my Husqvarna on our 3 acres in NZ. We just don't get the snow

    I use ag tires on mine, fill the tires with washer fluid and have wheel weights. These mods will turn it into an offroad beast and pulling machine.

      Awesome advice. I love the idea of adding fluid in the tires to increase weight. GENIUS

    • @hoosierLee
      @hoosierLee 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      My garden tractor is the same size as yours and I have 2 55 lb wheel weights on it and the rear tires will hold 14 gallons of fluid. I used winter windshield washer fluid because it's cheap. It added 110 lbs and made a huge difference. Between the fluid and weights that's an extra 220 lbs it helps with traction and stability on hillsides by lowering the center of gravity.

      Running your engine rpm’s as low as you can to do the job helps with traction too. Is the tractor classified as a lawn tractor or garden tractor.
      Would have been neat to show a comparison of the same run without the chains and the chains on.
      They can do the work. That’s for sure. I have many older garden tractors. All 40 to 50 years old.
      Have a great day. 👋

    Great video, I’m planning on getting this mower from my local dealer next week. What kind of dump trailer is that? Who made it? Thanks!

    i have the same lawn tractor, i use to to puch snow with th ebllade and she it gets really bad i attach the husqvarna snow blower i thought about getting a bobcat but this works just fine i have 3 acres. the electric locking rear axle is great. i hav enever got it stuck in the snow. i have snow chains on year round. i also pull a grass mulcherr for the pasture. 4 ft size love the thing. i just got a hyd loader for it a few weeks ago, also works great. so no need for the bobcat.

    I'd be using a old F-150 farm truck & getting it done smarter. Looks like there's plenty of space to get a bigger load & be more efficient w/ your time. Nice mower. The buggy won't last for long, unless your baby it. It looks like fun times.

    How hard is it to remove (and later replace) the mower deck and blades?

    • @sixoh_diesel5662
      @sixoh_diesel5662 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not something you'd really want to do on a weekly basis but when you have a long non-mowing season, it makes sense. Easy enough to do it monthly to sharpen or replace mower blades.

      @hazevault1 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@sixoh_diesel5662 You're right. I got the mower last week and went though the process. I think now I'll be able to get it down to under 20 minutes on either end. Doable, but not weekly.

    I’d recommend rather than using chained tires to just upgrade…I know it’s more convenient but the chains do infact cause minor wear on tires…many people run”Carlisle Super Lug Lawn & Garden Tire”👍🏻 Best all around. Just know it will chew up any nice yard cause these tires are pretty intense.

    I have this tractor ... not a lawn tractor it is a garden tractor capable of ground engaging implements and has a locking differential ... you would need at least a 500 series JD for these capabilities
