  • I'm getting back into the woods after a few months of recovery following a broken elbow.
    Please comment if you like this new camera angle better, worse, or if you're indifferent. I think this will be my new default angle for steeper, slower trails.

    I’m three weeks post shoulder surgery. Doc says 3-6 months before I’m back to mountain biking. I am already having withdraws from being off the bike! Glad your recovery went well at you are back at it.

      That's a bummer. elbows and shoulders are no joke. I'm sure you'll come back stronger!

      I had shoulder surgery over a year ago. Back on the bike now. Strength training is helpful to get the shoulder stronger and also help reconnect that part of my body back with my brain, if that makes sense lol

      @@gbrox17 4 weeks post surgery on Thurs from a broken pinky finger at the middle joint. Ran it into a bench cut on a rut. 8 weeks for me hopefully. Rehabbing to get my finger to get it to actually close. Rehab is always worse than the injury!

    Welcome back! yeah the new camera angle is pretty good for steep stuff, lets us see the entire line ahead... but still prefer the previous angle - just much more flowy and motion-depicting, this "steepcam" feels a little static and weird especially when going quick. Perhaps you can do a combo of both angles? Switching to steepcam when it gets really tecchy!

    That sucks. I dislocated and fractured my elbow in May of last year. I’m happy to report that 10 months out I rarely think about it. You got this!

      Did you have surgery?

    • @jjobs96
      @jjobs96 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I got lucky and the fractures didn’t complicate the healing process of my elbow. They relocated the joint and the doc opted to wait on the surgery and just see how healing goes. Fortunately my elbow tightened up enough to not need it! The key for me in the healing process was to get my strength back to where it was pre injury to start feeling confident on the bike again. Stay on that PT and gym routine!

      You can see the latest short I posted. I flipped over the bars in my back yard on my bike. A very dumb injury...

    Take it slow bro. I broke my back two years ago and didn't take it slow. Had another crash and set me back 6 months.

    Yoo dude I got injured in December too… dislocated shoulder while riding. Just started riding again. I saw the short you posted where you fell, what were you trying to do?

    • @SpencerAstraPOV
      @SpencerAstraPOV  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It was a very dumb and unexpected crash. I was just in my backyard playing with a GoPro angle like a goober. Flipped over the bars. Probably because I didn't have my clipless shes on. Just street shoes on clipless pedals.
