Not sure the Pope song would go down too well on this channel, purely for the language used in it. Storm and Lullaby are fantastic suggestions. If you do watch a few Tim Minchin videos then please check out White Wine in the Sun. It's a more heartfelt song but just really beautiful.
Us Aussies love our Tim. He’s a musician who also does comedy. He wrote the full score and lyrics to the Broadway production of Matilda, he has a huge list of accolades, too many to list. Storm, his 9 minute beat poem, is brilliant! ❤ 🐨
In case you didn't know, minge being Uk, Australian slang for the Lady bits area, and Ginger nuts a type of Biscuit (US, "Cookie"), believe you call Ginger snaps.
This song is genius and it got the response from both of you that he was looking for. He’s VERY clever with his wordplay and also very, very musical. ❤
I've watch many of your reactions and many reactions to this song, and your reaction was priceless when the penny dropped. Tim is very talented, singing amusing songs, but he also wrote the music for the musical Mathilda.
Just subscribed! Yes please, more Tim Minchin: "Storm" (not the animated version) "Dark Side" "Thank You God" (longer version with stand up precursor) "Rock n Roll Nerd" "Inflatable You" "The Pope Song" (if you can cope with swearing) Thanks for the reaction 😊
Oh, you've started something and now you'll have to react to all his classics! My favourites are "If I didn't have you" but "Storm" and "Thank you God" are also great
Tim is a brilliant talent. He is a composer, brilliant pianist, songwriter, poet and comedian. You will enjoy his 9 minute beat poem "Storm", his songs "Lullaby" and "White Wine In The Sun" He wrote the music and lyrics for the hit musical "Matilda"
For great comedy songs from him "3 Minute Song "is very underrated. For ones that pull at your heart strings "White Wine in the Sun" and "Not Perfect" are amazing.
Yep, I was having breakfast (bacon sandwich, since you ask) when Jodie erupted with the realisation that the song is about a prejudice based on a word containing the letters G,G,R,E,I and N. Tim’s genius is to make his audience wake up to their own thought processes and pretty much everything he’s done is worth watching. I really enjoyed watching you both really enjoying this one. Thank you 🙏🏼
Like a clean version of John Cooper Clark’s, poem,‘ Some C**t Used The ‘N’ Word”. I would advise anyone to listen to it. Besmirched with swear words but as funny as hell. Great poetry.
The fact that a lot of people misses when reacting to the song, is that the Name Perjudice. We start to create misconceptions about the song, just by listening to the first 2 minutes. Out mind goes to the Nword right away and the he smashes us on the face.
I was indeed having breakfast, thank you for noticing! ;) Fantastic as always, Tim has a lot of great music and his non-comedic songs are just as awesome! Cheers guys!
Hiya. The Minchin song that a lot of people fail to mention is "Inflatable You". He's also just finished writing his latest musical "Groundhog Day". Stay safe. All the best to you.
Tim is an Aussie national treasure. I recommend listening to 'Thank You, God', but make sure you watch the monologue he does before the song as it sets the whole piece up. It's a brilliant, intelligent song as much as Prejudice is. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Cheers, Matt
Your discomfort was delicious to watch. Did you notice he was playing barefoot, all his songs are extremely clever but not quite as unsettling as this one.
I think I've heard his name among a few credits but it's the first time I've seen him and I liked it a lot . Hope to hear more as you were just as impressed .
Years ago Tim had a song where he did say the actual N word. Apparently in Australia it’s not as shocking a word as it is in the US and UK. He was surprised at the reactions to him saying it. This was seemingly the inspiration for this song, p,along on the audience’s expectations and fears in a really intelligent way. He doesn’t use that word any ore
I love Tim Minchin, there's plenty of great songs you can check out "Dark Side (Awesome Version)" is probably the best display of his piano playing, "Rock and Roll nerd" is a classic, "Storm" is a poem rather than a song but it's superb. He also has a lot of songs about God and his atheism, but I don't know if you guys would be sensitive to that kind of thing, so I won't recommend them for now 😂
many adult songs by Tim to watch , Lullaby , The Pope Song , Inflatable You being my favs , i have a dark sense of humour though , these three are dark but for me funny lol
Great reaction guys. Tim Mitchin is an amazing performer, comedian, artist and songwriter, but not all his songs are comedic, one i love is White Wine In The Sun, its just beautiful
G'day Guys! BTW ginger nuts are a type of ginger biscuit(cookie) so there is a double entendre about dunking tiger nuts into my tea... If you enjoyed Tim's really clever lyrics then you should also look at "Lullaby" 'Dark Side" & "Storm" There is also "The Pope Song" but probably watch that privately... Cheers!
Loved your reaction. I've been a fan of tim minchin since I first heard this. He's hugely talented in his music and songs. You should listen to " thank you god" and " storm" .
Don’t worry about pausing when you got that joke, it’s always better to wait for a pause in the lyrics, but in certain circumstances that just goes right out the window. This was one of those circumstances. I’ll recommend “Storm” and “Inflatable You” by Tim… though what I really want to recommend is “Thankyou God” and “The Pope Song”, but you may want to start off with the less controversial ones. Incidentally, Tim wrote the music for the “Matilda” musical and also gave a great motivational talk to The University of Western Australia graduating class years ago, titled 9 life lessons, that is worth hearing too. Enjoy 🇦🇺
As a ginger, we're about the last minority that gets shit that everyone joins in with... Go Tim, Ginger Power! BTW, saw him live a few times, bloody amazing
The beauty is everything he is saying sums up how stupid and arbitrary prejudice truly is. He did a really good version of Judas in a version of Jesus Christ Superstar and wrote the musicals Groundhog Day and Matilda. Talented dude.
If you want more funny stuff from him here's a list of my favourites: 1. Thank you god (avoid if you are super religious) 2. If I didn't have you (try to find a version where he does a bit of stand-up before singing) 3. Storm (which is an amazing 9 minute beat poem) 4. If you open your brain too much your brain will fall off (can only be appreciated with the stand up before it) 5. You grew on me (any version is good) If you want something serious and inspiring he has this speech he did for his alma mater titled 9 life lessons, which is both inspiring and funny. Unless you are a musical geek and can appreciate long piano solos I'd avoid Darkside. I love the song but it's not everyone's cup of tea.
😂😂😂 he gets every American especially African American Tim's a word lyrics Just for reference ginger nut is a biscuits / cookies so dunking his ginger nuts in tea makes sense You'll like he's lullaby He wrote it after first child and its what perspective most parents feel at sometime but never act on it Tims a Australian comedian but besides writing them produce the music as well He's musical talents are hughe write play the music amongst many other things You may want to look up another Australian comedian randy felt face buys a bookshelf of gumtree Which is equivalent to your craig list Cheers guys 🦘🇦🇺👍
Tim Minchin is a wonderful performer (he also is an actor) and composer. He composed "Matilda the Musical" (based on the Roald Dahl book) which won Best Musical at both the Tony and Olivier Awards for the productions on Broadway and the West End respectively. Here he is performing with some Matildas on the Conan O'Brien show: th-cam.com/video/P9GUTr2VXEA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=1fUpePnslpqGiPLs
It’s a great skill to be funny and also clever enough to write funny songs. Tim is great. But in the UK, the absolute master of it, was the late Victoria Wood. One of the funniest writers ever. Her songs “Let’s do it (The Ballad of Barry and Freda)” , “Pam” and “Political Correctness Gone Mad” are some of my favourites
Because you referenced Elton John you must listen to Tim Minchin's "Mitsubishi Colt", his 2006 version is great if you want to appreciate his early days journey
Please could I suggest you try out Tim Minchin - 9 Life Lessons. This was his acceptance speech when the University of Western Australia gave him an honorary degree.
You will not like the start of "The Pope Song", but I promise you will appreciate it by the end. Also, "Lullaby" is way too relatable. "Storm" is quite different, but GREAT. (Basically anything he's done is gold).
It's cleverer than most realize. He literally uses our own prejudice to form an opinion on what he's singing about without any factual evidence. He says the name of the song and what it's about, then just provides the letters. The vast majority of us make the assumption what the letters will spell before he pulls the rug out.
Great reaction! You started with arguably his best & most famous song, but there are several more, some more serious than funny. I prefer good music, comedy, and message. My two favorites are from the same performance, *Confessions* and *if I Didn't Have You* (full uncut version), please. Other TM songs have a stronger message but are less funny, imho.
Because you appreciate the poetry you must listen to his live performance of "Storm" it is brilliant, but I do not want to spoil it by saying any more.
Now watch Storm and Thankyou God!
Thank You God, The Dark Side, Lullaby, Storm, The Pope Song and Cont are all fantastic and worth checking out.
Tim is great.
Not sure the Pope song would go down too well on this channel, purely for the language used in it. Storm and Lullaby are fantastic suggestions.
If you do watch a few Tim Minchin videos then please check out White Wine in the Sun. It's a more heartfelt song but just really beautiful.
@@dimwitdave9344Yeah, the Pope Song is great with an important message, but I agree, too blue for this channel. Jody would pass out 😂
Us Aussies love our Tim. He’s a musician who also does comedy. He wrote the full score and lyrics to the Broadway production of Matilda, he has a huge list of accolades, too many to list. Storm, his 9 minute beat poem, is brilliant! ❤ 🐨
I think we Brits love your Tim also 😅
When the penny dropped both of your reactions was brilliant.
"I don't think he's an actual like singer" - He's a multi award winning composer.
Yessss more Tim!
Tim Minchin is a genius. He also writes stage musicals - Matilda is a sell out on Broadway and in the West End, also been made into a film.
Bill Bailey is another master at combining comedy with music too. He's also been on QI a lot.
Just subscribed!
Yes please, more Tim Minchin:
"Storm" (not the animated version)
"Dark Side"
"Thank You God" (longer version with stand up precursor)
"Rock n Roll Nerd"
"Inflatable You"
"The Pope Song" (if you can cope with swearing)
Thanks for the reaction 😊
Thanks for subscribing! We’ll have to check those out!!
Given your professions you may find his graduation speech an interesting watch!
‘Thank You God’ is the song he made after a first-hand account of a genuine miracle made him see the error of his ways.
😂
Oh, you've started something and now you'll have to react to all his classics! My favourites are "If I didn't have you" but "Storm" and "Thank you God" are also great
Definitely The Pope Song. Storm is great as well
You know what you're doing, 😜😜
Please do more Tim Minchin.
Lullaby is a great one for people who have had kids
Tim wrote the musical score to the stage play Matilda
Yes more munching on minchin please! You should do “if I didn’t have you” and “inflatable you”
Tim Minchin is a wonderful rabbit hole to go down. :D
Gingernuts are Briitish biscuits made by McVities . He mentioned them dipping in tea in the song and you looked slightly shocked. 🤣🙂
His "White wine in the sun" is the best Christmas song for us Aussies. Also " storm" is a masterpiece.
Storm is amazing.
White Wine In The Sun is beautiful.
Storm. In one word. That’s the next one to watch!! ❤
Got to have a bacon butty now, cheers mate!
"Inflatable You" and "The Pope Song" are hilarious
So clever and what a piano player, he’s amazingly talented and entertaining
We ALL fell for it - first time.
Words do bring power….please do Tim’s Pope Song!
Like a clean version of John Cooper Clark’s, poem,‘ Some C**t Used The ‘N’ Word”. I would advise anyone to listen to it. Besmirched with swear words but as funny as hell. Great poetry.
John Cooper Clark is certainly worth a look.
Such a great & clever song, you'll have it in your head for weeks to come!
Yes please...more Tim. 😊
Tim is a word master. You need to watch his beat poem called Storm!
Please please please do more of Tim, honestly he has tonnes of amazing songs on here, some funny, some beautiful, some both
Thank you God is a must watch, The Pope Song is hilarious too
All Tims comedy songs are excellent and worth a watch
Brilliant, thanks for introduction
"Thank you god", "Inflatable you" And "Lullaby"! 🍻
Mitchin is a consummate talent.
He gets everyone with this one.
Check out Tim Minchin's "If I didn't have you" - funny as f**k
Such a beautiful love song 😂
Yes!!! 👍😂
A genuine genius
The fact that a lot of people misses when reacting to the song, is that the Name Perjudice. We start to create misconceptions about the song, just by listening to the first 2 minutes.
Out mind goes to the Nword right away and the he smashes us on the face.
'White Wine in The Sun' is another great song of his 👍 Not funny, but fabulous! Perfect for Christmas coming up...
It’s brilliant on so many levels.
This is living in my head rent free now!, it’s just to catchy 😂😂
tim is a legitimate genius! keep up the great content please guys, big love to all people :)
I was indeed having breakfast, thank you for noticing! ;)
Fantastic as always, Tim has a lot of great music and his non-comedic songs are just as awesome!
Cheers guys!
Thank you for this, so funny!
Like Tim Mitchin. Thanks for this reaction
Definitely waiting for a gabe reaction, dude knows good music and i can't wait to see what he thinks.
Nick without a hat is like when Darth Vader takes his helmet off ! It’s not right 😂 love you guys ❤
And in Australia we call people with red hair, 'Blue' ("G'Day Blue") - a play on opposites.
He’s so clever with words, love him 🇬🇧
Yes---try THE POPE SONG by Tim...it's great!
Your discomfort was delicious to watch. Did you notice he was playing barefoot, all his songs are extremely clever but not quite as unsettling as this one.
Tim Minchin and the Heritage Orchestra Tour.
I think I've heard his name among a few credits but it's the first time I've seen him and I liked it a lot . Hope to hear more as you were just as impressed .
Hello,if you do more ,the pope song is not for people of a religious persuasion ❤❤
Lullaby is great also
A long time ago my nickname was 'Ginger' !! My hair (and other areas) are now white - being 74 is the cause 😃

Tim's said in an interview that once it occurred to him both words had the same letters he couldn't avoid writing the song...
The good book, is probably my fave song by Tim, though the 9 minute beat poem Storm is fantastic.
Tim !!!
many adult songs by Tim to watch , Lullaby , The Pope Song , Inflatable You being my favs , i have a dark sense of humour though , these three are dark but for me funny lol
I have to agree with Dr Kapp, storm is brilliant, as is thank you God and if I didn't have you. I'd love to see you react to any or all of them.
Great reaction guys. Tim Mitchin is an amazing performer, comedian, artist and songwriter, but not all his songs are comedic, one i love is White Wine In The Sun, its just beautiful
It made you think, so it did the job

Also tea bagging ginger nuts

Go Tim, Ginger Power!
BTW, saw him live a few times, bloody amazing
I have a darkside too from the same show is brilliant too!
In case no one has said it check out his Dark side awesome version to see how musically talented he is.
The beauty is everything he is saying sums up how stupid and arbitrary prejudice truly is.
He did a really good version of Judas in a version of Jesus Christ Superstar and wrote the musicals Groundhog Day and Matilda. Talented dude.
Take a look at him sing '5 poofs and 2 pianos' on the Jonathan Ross show.
Really funny :)

It would be great to see you react to “Lullaby”” by Tim Minchin. ☺️
For something a bit more left field check out Tim’s canvas bag song as well!
remember, every freckle is the soul of anyone who was mean to a G, l mean redhead, phew!
