    Wow!! 6 years ago and I'm just now watching this. Trying to watch all of AA videos that I've missed all these years. You guys are the best hikers, backpackers, narrators, and music composers on here. You make us feel like we are right there with you on your adventures. I miss hiking since I got blood clots in my lungs. Your videos help me enjoy nature and the sights I would miss. Keep them coming.

    Sir Dan - still can't respond directly to your comments for some reason, but thanks so much for watching! We will definitely check Char Mar Ridge out for the next simulhike - thanks for suggesting it. It's about a half hour away apparently. Looking forward to it! --Andrew

    I always love your night sky shots, via time lapse or still shots, as in this video. It's amazing how you captured the sunset with the dark sky. Was that "Photoshopped" together, or did you actually shoot that all in one shot? I only ask because I've never seen the two combined before like that, and I've seen a LOT of sunsets in my day. Good job-the split. Not much of either, but still nice.

    I love not only the locations that you guys capture, but the music in the background tugs at my memories. They are not exactly songs that I know, but they are very reminiscent of games I know I have played. And some of them are hard to pin what it reminds me of, but it is still evokes that strange feeling of nostalgia.
    I love that line "make what's around you yours." It took a while when I first moved here, but I feel like the rocky mountains are my home. They are familiar to me. That relationship with the nature around you takes time to create. (btw, the night skies you capture here are magical and awe-inspiring. )

    Beautiful shots! These Ohio/Cali episodes are great. If you guys ever need another small hike to go on, Char Mar Ridge Preserve is a nice little gem in Delaware.

    Great Vid! You guys are one of my new favorite channels. Dig all the hiking/backpacking related videos. I'm from Ohio too and plan on hitting North Manitou with my friends and also Zion NP in May for the Trans-Zion Trek. Went to the Badlands last year and did the Sage Creek Loop. Amazing stuff. If you guys plan to do another long distance trip in a farther away state consider the badlands!

      @AdventureArchives  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      stan soehnlen Oh man, we would absolutely love to go to the Badlands. We're definitely going to do what we can to film at least an episode out west.

      We did a very manageable loop (3 day 2 night loop hike) saw buffalo up close and far away, also saw many skeletons. It is a life changing experience. I could totally give you guys some pointers taken from our trip.

    Wow! Thomas, the night shots were spectacular! I was stationed in Victorville, CA and in Gila Bend, AZ while in the Air Force and camped in the desert, mostly in an MSS with a groundsheet, no tent or tarp overhead. The galactic stars, the meteorites, the sunsets and sunrises gave me the truest pleasure of experiencing nature. Thank you so much for this video. Oh, speaking of coyotes. While working with EOD in the AZ desert we began a "sweep" of a small canyon and frightened a pack of coyotes from the canyon wall lairs. One of the EOD techs said he counted 11 of them. That sound that Robbie and Andrew heard in Ohio reminded me of the EOD experience. Even the roars of the multi-wheel drive dump trucks and my M37 4X4 couldn't completely drown out the yelps of the pack. Adventure Archives...oorah!

    Okay so this is going to be quite random but I have some advice for how you've mixed the electric guitar in your intro track xD
    Go ahead and bring down the gain, it's too loud atm. Then give it a boost in the mids and highs instead of the lows. If you can throw your entire track through a frequency analyzer and see where all of your tones sit, try to use the guitar as a fill in for wherever the track is lacking in the mids/highs.
    That's just a random suggestion and I am picky because I am a musician :) so, ignore me if you wish, it's not imperative, it's just my perfectionism haha.

    • @AdventureArchives
      @AdventureArchives  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the advice! Mixing is by far and away where I'm least knowledgeable so any advice is appreciated. I'll experiment with what you got there and hopefully see if I can get it sounding better. What software do you use? I just started using logic but I did this in reaper at the time. -Robby

    • @KalinCorvidae
      @KalinCorvidae 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah we use ProTools :) have since the beginning. I'm not too familliar with logic or reaper at all. But it should have the plugins you need. If you have any questions go ahead and shoot em my way, I'll ask my drummer who does the most mixing for the band. I know a fair amount but he's by far the engineer.
