    40:25, the infamous alleged nitrous backfire. 57:02, the break-in that no one I know believes wasn't an inside job.

      @jim NFL 316 A few gullible people might believe that.

    Look I'm on tv. I was lucky enough to be there in the stands at Pomona and later on be on a top fuel team wrenching. I miss the good old days sometimes!

    No question NHRA covered up the nitrous pumping Mopars. Glidden's son said it had to be as his father Bob went from domination the class to...not qualifying. Then suddenly, all of the Mopars vanished from pro stock.

    • @WLAs_Finest3x
      @WLAs_Finest3x 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I heard a story that NHRA suspected Bob Glidden was cheating and made him strip his engine down and they discovered a nitrous related part or something running through the oil pan. There's a reason why he was dominating pro stock and it wasn't just his "secret" intake manifold. I don't know, just saying.

    • @artartful854
      @artartful854 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WLAs_Finest3x I do not concede that Glidden was cheating. The Mopars were as one can see the carburation fires at the starting line.
      But they all hid the intakes as that was a big technological difference in their performance.

    • @snake5305
      @snake5305 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      After 95 the mopars kept coming. Larry Nance, Allen johnson, Alderman, Morgan. You have your facts wrong. There were more than ever because Mopar wanted to clear their name.
      Don't forget that Kurt Johnson was the first in the 6 second range. Not to mention that Warren was running faster than the Mopars at many of the races. If the Mopars were cheating than everyone else was too. Billy Glidden and Jerry Eckman proved that. Warren and Kurt were never caught.
      Do you really thibk Greg Anderson wasn't cheating all those years of domination? Come on man. He leaves Warren and Kurt Johnson and magically has more power than anyone and they start to lose their power? Imagine if they would have claimed him to be cheating. It would come back on them because he was on their team for 10 plus years. So if Greg was then they were too.

      @@artartful854 carbonation fires is your reasoning for believing in a cheating scandal? Apparently you haven't been around race cars very much. Carburetor fires are a common thing.

    • @artartful854
      @artartful854 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@snake5305 Well the subject is carburetor fires and I have been racing since the 60s and been to dozens of all kinds of drag racing. A carb fire is usually a small short fire burning only the gas sitting on the manifold plane and on the carb. itself.
      However, the Dodges experienced explosions with a huge ball of fire looking just like a nitrous fire another fire I have seen many times.
