Hi do you have any rattling from the spoiler? I have one fitted to my jcw but notice it's rattling when hitting bumps etc. The spoiler wiggles a bit by hand I can't tell if it's the same as yours or a bit looser. The bolts are as tight as possible but I don't want to loosen them in case it damages the threads. Thanks
I no longer own it but spoke to a few people that end up with a wobbling top section. This is due to the 3 bolts you do up while the wing is off the car working loose over time. Maybe a dab of loctite would help, they are so fiddly to do up I think some people don’t get them quite tight enough

Hey great video! I bought a DAG style spoiler recently that came off a 2015 MCS, and the owner said all the holes lined up perfectly with his, while keeping the OEM bracket on. However, when I tried installing it on my 2017 JCW only the outside holes lined up with the bracket on (the other three were about half an inch off) and with the bracket off, it's just way too flimsy. Any advice on what I could do? I ordered another bracket to see if maybe mine is the issue, but I don't see how that would be the case unless MINI changed the design from the 2014-2015 models when they made the 2017+. I'm not too familiar with body working. Any help would be appreciated!
Hi first check if that new bracket works if not you may have to do what I did in the video and adjust some of the holes on the bottom of the wing, unfortunately with this copies it’s a risk based on the money you are saving over buying a genuine one. It will trial and error
Hi thanks for watching, you can buy black ones only from dealerships. For colour coded ones you have to paint them at a body shop/yourself or some company’s sell painted ones
The spoiler I got didn’t come with the 3 predrilled holes on the topside to connect the 2 pieces. Any recommendations on how to drill them while making sure the 2 pieces are accurately lined up? Thx
the holes on your New spoiler are literally big squares where is the screw holding on to? is there a nut already inside to hold it? i’m purchasing the same one but the preview pictures don’t have preset holes in the new spoiler.
There are pre-drilled holes into the wing itself that the screws go into. If you zoom in at 6.22 in the video you will see 5 rectangle holes towards the bottom of the picture and to the right of the centre 3 you can make out a little screw hole alongside each one. Same again for the 2 outer holes.
Hi thanks for watching, it does not fit the R56, the back ends and mounting points are very different on an F56. For the R56 I would recommend the Orranje G-wing :)
Thanks for watching, the new spoiler does cover up that area. But that whole boot area is made to channel water down from the roof area down and onto the top of the rear bumper via channels either side of the boot with the rubber seals stopping any water ingress so all will be fine.
@@tweedbean see, learned something. maybe you know this, if i where to fit a gp style wing, would i have to re use the two plastic pieces to cover the holes ( those holes)
Are you talking about the holes in the boot lid? If so those holes allow access to the inside of the outer skin of the bottled which is where they attach
@@tweedbean yes the holes you made in the spoiler lid, did you use a specific drill bit or just cut out holes. how do the main 5 bolts fit the spoiler to the actual car? how did they just screw in
@@stressfulsanity4045 sorry you’ve lost me, did you watch the video? I cover every step of the fitting process and didn’t drill the boot lid or spoiler at any point. The screws pass through the existing holes in the boot lid and screw into the underside of the new spoiler. No need to drill anything as the stock spoiler uses the game fixing method
@@tweedbean so the spoiler already comes with the holes drilled into it? no drilling is necessary what so ever? so it’s simply just putting the bolts/screws in and your done?
so i guess what i’m asking is is there already nuts inside the actual spoiler? how does the overall spoiler stick to the trunk lid? you just screw them in and that’s it? what is holding the screws to the trunk lid

I could not honestly answer that, I fitted it purely for looks and theres not much test data for wings on Mini's out there.

So the 2 side bolts are not used with the Duell Ag style? It's only held in by the little torx screws?!

@@TheJERROO sorry not 100%, it all depends on their design, I know the Orranje F-wing they are working on replaces those plastic bits.
