Wins like these meant a lot back in the day. City, still somewhat picking themselves up from the shitshow that was the 90s, still playing second fiddle in Manchester. yes, this is post-takeover but other than the Robinho purchase it was still very new and we hadnt felt the investment take a true hold yet. Winning, especially at the swamp, carried a weight that felt more special back then. Or maybe I'm just older and less effected by it now :D 18 year old me was on cloud 9
100% agreed .....Even with all our success over the years and the great moments we've shared as fanbase, i still can't replicate the same feeling i had this day..idk maybe because I was 15 and i didn't know any better but all I can say is your not alone on this one 😂
The result was even better than the 1-6 at the swamp because that utd side had tevez Ronaldo etc and was a full utd side there was NO excuse for them to use as to why they lost to a city side that wasn't doing great at the time and had key players missing but it meant so much more than the other derby games because their unbeaten record against us at home was gone ...and it lasted since 1974 when we last won there and that famous Dennis law backheel that relegated them....
