I'm used to the 2.2L Diesel manual Outlander here and it's mad seeing the revs at 60 Mph, in the diesel the revs at 60-65 Mph would be barely over 1500 revs in 6th Gear. Dual clutch is far better in my opinion but probably costs more to manufacture.
My 2019 at 196,000 miles. It was designed to work like that. Its anoying but i think it was designed to do that to avoid dammage. Yoy have to change the transmission fluid every 30,000 miles or it will break.
2016 Outlander here. 112k miles now... It's been doing that since 30k miles. However, I believe there is something going on with the transmission because now the rpms jump (surge) and drops (hesitation) constantly, so it has gotten way worse.
my friend had an outlander and at around 60 mph, it was sitting at around 2000 rpms, but he babies the gas pedal, so it didn't hit the higher rpms, but u might need to replace your cvt fluid, cause its not normal.
I’ve got the 2019 Mitsubishi outlander sport that is definitely not normal. Mine drives completely fine. Never had an issue with it 40,000 miles and still going. I would definitely have the ECM or transmission data checked.
I wanted to do more videos on it but it started making a burning smell with squealing brakes. I got rid of it and will upload more vids on a newer rental lol
Can confirm this is not normal. I have the '19 Outlander 2.4 and it doesn't even rev past 3000 with little throttle at 60+ mph. Worth mentioning the RPM surging forward is normal though.
That's definitely not normal. Not even in sport mode does it get stuck at 4000 rpm. If this is not your personal vehicle (a rental for example) it may have junk data stored in the ECU causing it to act like that. It could also just as easily be a glitch in the software that operates the CVT.
I have a nissan xtrail T31 that uses similar cvt that outlander. Got same issue and also my makes some noise at 60km/h and another 110km/h. Never going to have another for sure. Not because of the performance of the cvt but because of the lack of diagnostic that I have faced after went to 4 different garages.
That’s definitely not normal change your cvt fluid and your filter ive heard bad things about these cvts i have a nissan and im hoping my Altima cvt doesn’t go out
It's not the CVT. You have ECO mode on. You can see it in the top left corner of your dash-screen. I have a Mitsubishi 2019 Eclipse Cross, same thing. Turn it off. It makes the car suck.
Most cars today are shit. I miss living in DC and not owning a vehicle. Every single modern vehicle today including toyota are making unreliable vehicles
Agreed, if I could buy a brand new 2006 Honda CRV I would, I just want a basic reliable AWD vehicle not a confusing battery on wheels. All these cars are going to end up in the tip within 15 years, cars will be disposable.

True.

Ahhh. I mean since it was a loaner I could not do that but I wonder how it would considering it’s just keeping the engine up there

Oof that’s no fun. I’m sorry
That is what my car is doing too. But mines has 340K miles on it so I know the car is going, I just do not want to buy a new one yet
Nothing with transmission, just engine issues, spark plugs, coils, dirty air filter etc
I have a 2019 outlander since new and it’s acts exactly the same
It doesn’t go to OD?
@@thweepz it does once you let go of the throttle if you’re on the throttle, it acts the same exact way as yours. It must be a programming problem.

Luckily it was a rental and I didn’t have it long
But definitely not normal

I sent it back to enterprise :)
Yea that's not normal lol. I've driven these outlanders in the past and they just seem to have awful CVT's in general lol
I wanted to do more videos on it but it started making a burning smell with squealing brakes. I got rid of it and will upload more vids on a newer rental lol

lol thanks. I took that back so fast
It's Mitsubishi. If it's running. It's not broken. It's not a Honda or a Toyota. It'll run until something is completely destroyed.
True but I was like why is she screaming at me lol

The worst is that it was in eco so it should be trying to lower the RPMs
Lol nope not my personal vehicle thank god
i have the same problem with mitsubishsi eclipse cross 2024
Oof that’s too early. Hopefully it’s under warranty
My outlander do the same tingh
Could be normal I guess but I wonder why it would not go into higher ratios

Yeah I’m surprised it didn’t throw a code
Would just hang at read line if it could
That’s definitely not normal change your cvt fluid and your filter ive heard bad things about these cvts i have a nissan and im hoping my Altima cvt doesn’t go out
It was a rental
There junk had one a week and took it back happy with my new sorento
Oh yeah this one was god awful
Wait until your GDI engine says I'm tired boss 😂
@@Oscaremill took that garbage Kia back as well not long after that went with a Tahoe and haven’t been happier
I got Outlander (MY09) ZG VRX with 244k
Not problems.....YET! LOL
Nice. Lolz this was one was rental so I mean we need to take it with a grain of salt haha
Sounds like you can't drive for shit.
If its a rental why do you even care? People abuse rental cars!
Because rentals are being given out as garbage

Turn it off. It makes the car suck.
Eco mode would be more aggressive to lower the RPMs
is that cover under warranty?
It probably would have been but it was a rental
Change the fluid and filters
This was a rental. I’m sure they should have
Did you get the cvt fluid changed before that time?
It was a rental car. Honestly doubt it.
outlander mitsubishi 2022 so i guess i shouldn't get it
Unless you get the phev
They’ve gotten better but this one I think just got beaten down
Probably because you can't drive for shit.
Most cars today are shit. I miss living in DC and not owning a vehicle. Every single modern vehicle today including toyota are making unreliable vehicles
They all are lil replaceable
