Thank you SO much for posting this!!! I'm a single mom, barely getting by, and was quoted $650 to replace this part. This looks so easy and so much more affordable! I have a friend who said they could drain/refill the freon for me at no cost as long as I pay for what's needed. They already have the equipment to do it.

Thank you for this video. I have two questions I hope you can answer. Why the o ring was not replaced? and can you link the type of tool used to enlarge the fire wall?
So if it's blowing warm air all the time then it's not this? I had just replaced the a/c compressor with a new one about 2 years ago and it worked perfect until this year when it started blowing warm air only. I had the a/c refrigerant recharged and still blowing warm air, no leaks they tested the system also. I thought it was the a/c compressor went bad again so replaced it with another new today but it is taking refrigerant very slowly, took me about 20 minutes to get about 5oz of refrigerant into the system using 12oz can not sure what the problem is, possibly the hose I bought on Amazon for the can. Any tips?
Have you ever tried this on a Civic. I'm doing a 2007 Civic, and it has the same opening, but it almost looks like the firewall is set so back far you can't reach it. Any luck on a Civic? Thanks!

This is very good replecement guide about the expansion valve. I'd appreciate it.
After this replacement, how much refrigerant with oil is needed?
Thank you so much, great video!!!
Thanks. The compressor is starting to fail in my mom's car, and I will need to replace the expansion block at the same time.
This guide also applies to the 2012 Honda CR-V, as I found out the hard way.
Almost same process
My ac compressor went out so im replacing it and also the reciever/drier filter. Do i need to change out the expansion valve too?
I would highly recommend to swap it out yes
Nice Video, Thanks!!

I usually change the o-rings out, use OEM orings they are good.
Check the video description for the dremel link. Thanks
hey bro im tryning to replace my rear vvt solonoid 3.5 on a 2009 honda accord v6, do you have a video on replacing it ?
I have a video on the front solenoid, check my channel
How do you safely drain the Freon? Can you use those refill bottle kits from the parts shop to fully recharge it?
Best way is to take it to the shop. They'll evacuate, add freon and pag oil to the right specs using their fancy machine.
lol wish i watched this before i pulled out the whole passenger side dash to replace😂
Y le funcionó bien después

Take it to a shop, have them use their fancy freon machine. It fills it exactly to specs with no time wasted.
What kind of oil goes on the o-ring seals when you replace them?
pag oil, the pag # depends on the vehicle
pag oil only

It's a really tight space. The process is similar to my odyssey video.
If this goes bad, would the AC work sometimes (intermittent), or would it just not work at all 100% of the time?
intermittent
Does the refrigerant need to be empty?
Yes
Thank you
If this is meant to be swapped why did u have to dremel ? Would the dealer done the same ?
Dealer would charge you an arm and a leg and rip out the entire dash board when you can easily change it like the way i showed.
Would a 2007 acura rdx be the same?
more or less same process, but you might have to access it through inside
Why r u changing this?
Went bad and caused ac not to work
@@MrRangerZr1you mean AC not getting cold?
@@kalani1987 yes starts to blow warm at random times
Expansion valves clog on these because the compressor comes apart and clogs it
One of the various reasons
