I had a 800 high school class and 50 year class reunion, around 40 people show up and it was in a local VFW. People wore cargo shorts, jeans, flip flops, old tennis shoes and mostly t-shirts, Cost was $12.😂 The 1st -10 year reunion was at swanky high class country club that one of the classmate was a member of and formal attire, 12 piece band, a 10 course dinner and 500 people show up out of class of 800. Cost was $350.00. Every high school reunion that takes place the numbers attending go down by 20% on the average and get more informal and less pricey. The 30 year was totally casual like going grocery shopping and usually held at local hotel. My took place at outside high school grounds but not allow to go into the high school for security reasons. There were private security guards too. This security, ports potty restrooms and other restrictions end this as a future meeting spot for the reunion.😂 It end at dust. High school officials refuse to turn on the full outside lighting to continue with the reunion and the refuse to use the football/track area which was the class reunion 1st choice.😮

It was a table at a buffet. Half the people were married with kids the other half had no idea how to interact with the kids.
so interesting hearing about other high school experiences. my high school had an open campus policy; all students were allowed off campus on their free periods/lunch to go wherever. everyone also had lockers... i remember doing homework and hanging out with my friends there. ahhh those were the days

Poor Wes sounds like he had such a negative view about it lol. I've been to my 5 and 10 year reunion and its pretty typical to just catch up and see how everyone is doing. I don't think anyone is expecting to re-new friendships, just to reflect and reminisce and see how everyone has grown over the years. People that I know that look down on the reunions just seem very immature/petty. Everyone changes over time and seeing someone you dont normally see every 5 or 10 years is a fun event. If you fully believe that most people are still the same as back in high school, thats unfortunate (as a broad statement) Taylor's perspective is definitely mature, but positive!

I had a bad high school experience and didn't really want to talk to anyone from there if I didn't have to. Also my school was kind of prison like. In all of the classes that I had only one room had windows in it. They weren't even proper windows just really long, super skinny windows so as soon as I got my license I left every day for lunch just to get out of there even if there was a snowstorm (I'm from Wisconsin).
I didn't go to mine. I've had a number of my former classmates on social media for the longest time and even run into a few on the odd occasion. They've never made an effort to talk to me nor I them so I just never saw the point in going
Lolol no Wes, though I graduated in 2017, we don't have boxes to put our phones before class. Everyone has them in hand in class, but there are no phone policies, however people like to sneaky sneak on them during class. I've admittedly had done it few times before 😂😬

ok for one, we do not have cubbies (at least in my school). Our teachers usually take the phone if you're using it in class but it depends on the teacher. For two, yes wes. You do sound old just because of that. Also we don't fill the halls by doing tik tok videos. We got classes and we're not allowed in the halls anyway (during lunch). Also, tik tok doesn't make a higher hierarchy? The people who are already popular just do tik tok and the people who don't just don't. We don't have time to care about the popular kids in my opinion and most are pretty nice. There's some that are mean and I'm sure there are bullies but I haven't run into them I guess (maybe because I talk a lot but also look dead inside. Idk). Popularity hasn't ever been a thing I really care about and I think that's solely due to living in the internet age where everyone says be yourself and being popular really isn't that fun and blah blah blah so idk, never been interested. Also, i don't think we ever had cliques. At least in high school, in middle school we sort of. There's just too many students. How the frick could we put them into separate cliques? There's even popular kids among each grade because how could we determine them all. We've just got friend groups at this point. There's still theater kids though.

We had access to things like advanced calculators and laptops then but we didn't use them much. It's just now we rely heavily on our laptops for class and I have just taken advantage of the fact that I have all of the world's knowledge at my fingertips that I don't even know if I could solve a basic equation at this point without googling some sort of calculator, fast trick, or the straight-up answer.... it has lately given me a fat identity crisis and I dont think ive been this depressed ever
My senior year is ruined because of the virus. our prom and gradnite might get cancelled, school already got cancelled, my teams' dance comps got cancelled. It makes me really sad.
