I had the privilege to test this one with Bryan and I loved it so much I went and found it for myself! The solo mode is fantastic, and I've also played 2, 3, and 5 player now. All player counts have had great pacing and lots of fun. Straight to the top of our favorites list here!
We felt the same way on the game ending right when you feel like you have a good tableau going. The oracle mod tho gives you another way to buy cards without adding tiles 😀

I do agree the games do seem to end too soon however next game we play theres an optional tile you can add into the initial setup that allows you to grab dungeon cards without needing to put out a dungeon tile. I believe in the rule book it says this tile should be added in if you want a longer game.

The last playthrough I used my twilight imperium mat as a substitute and one of the members asked if I was getting the official Dwellings one. I told them it's hard because it's so expensive, but it would be nice to have it

The only reason why I am asking is because I would like to introduce my folks to this game, but I fear they wouldn’t like playing for 2-3 hours - so I may have to not tell them how long the game generally takes, then just start teaching it to them, and show some turn examples before easing them into it until they get the idea. Then, hopefully they will have so much fun with it, that they forget about time! :-)
@@GameBrigade you need not worry about getting a rule wrong, I've seen many how to play videos that got a rule or two wrong. It does not discourage me from watching. At least you have the option to review and edit to clear out any mistakes, making a mistake in real time with live players, that's what I fear when teaching a new game to our group. To help myself we learn a new game once a month so I can take my time and learn it inside and out before I introduce it. I still make mistakes sometimes but they forgive and we all learn from it.

#DwellingsOfEldervale this remains the closed ive ever coming to backing a Kickstarter campaign and the game does look so good- the concern from my end is sprawling nature of it as I don’t have loads of space.
The secondary board of the elemental track so where most of the table space comes from. You need to have the dungeons and elemental track on either side and it just gets big
#DwellingsOfEldervale If you're worried about it being too short there's another tile that allows you to draw an adventure card without drawing a tile. You should try that if you have that variant.
Brian I think your wooden meeples are a misprint because mine have printing on them...I do have the legendary edition though. I didn't see the rule book as clear though. It was good, but it jumped around too much for me and I had a hard time finding anything when I wanted to clarify a rule. Wasted A LOT OF TIME our first play. Really needed a nicer index or appendix for my liking. Though everyone is different.
@@nipzie Yeah I think he was speaking to there are a wooden version of the reward tokens that go on the tiles as they are revealed. I do not have those either I guess I misunderstood the kickstarter because I was already getting the Meeple Source painted wooden resources. Wish I had the wooden reward tokens but like he said in the video the cardboard is thick and perfectly fine.

#DwellingsofEldervale does seem like an amazing game. I disliked the cheap looking minis and trays and the gimmicky nature of the sound based, BUT because they have a Solid game that everyone is liking, I think they have been tremendously successful. I hope we see more from Breaking Games soon!
I could have late backed #DwellingsofEldervale but I keep saying to my self, you have to save for ISS Vanguard, and when it came out didn’t backed it, so now I regret not getting this cool game

At least you have the option to review and edit to clear out any mistakes, making a mistake in real time with live players, that's what I fear when teaching a new game to our group. I don't either just a small 3 feet by 3 feet square table and we made it work for 2 players. It was pretty cramped but possible.

I can see the screen printing on them. He definitely has the Legendary Pledge because he has the sound bases.
