Hey man I just wanted to say love your videos. You and a few other mechanic TH-camrs made me decide to go to school for automotive. Thank you man keep up the wicked content.
They are fused to the trailer park lights. Im sure you could put them to the DRLs if you wanted, but I think theyre much better seen with the park lights when its dark.
Give Boost Auto Parts a call, they are very knowledgeable and can help you to find out the right wiring and parts for any mirrors, even if they arent theirs.
@@RustbeltMechanic quick tip with something I did. I ordered some bulb sockets (w/ pigtails) to match the park lights on my sierra. they will fit in the drl slot with a little wiggling. cut off the drl socket from the harness and connect the park light bulb socket. now you end up with two park lights. put switch backs in both positions. then similar to the 4 hi mod in the fuse box, feed a wire from the drl relay to the park light relay. This means anytime the drl is called for (daytime out of park) you will light up the parking lights, which will be all white. then turns signals take over to flash amber, and back to white as you expect with switchbacks. and of course at night the park lights will be on anytime the headlights are. need little trick with two sockets and short wire. just means you need twice as many switchback bulbs.
Hey man question for you do you know anyone that builds custom head lights for a 2006 gmc 2500 I hate the junk on the market I want someone do build off the factory headlights if anyone know anyone please let me know
try to pick up denali headlights and do a retrofit. I used the retrofit source for the retrofit kit after I had the headlights. no need to bake denalis to open them, projectors bolt in from the rear. of course if you want to paint or ditch the reflectors you have to open them up.
Jdmasstar suck. I got some of there leds for my lb7. Nothing was good about them. They didn't fit,so I made them fit, then I test them and one of them is defective. Send them back never again

Good upgrade and demonstration video Kyle
Thank you for that, looks pretty cool and something we can do
Switch backs looks sweet
do the white switchbacks stay on with your daytime running lights or just when ur headlights are on?

@@RustbeltMechanic ok thanks. i was just checking. so the lights on mirrors arent on while DRLs are?
also, I have some aftermarket mirrors like yours, so if I buy the new switchback it comes with the harness to wire up the parking lights?

There are quite a few out there but just be prepared to pay “custom” pricing. SoFlo retros, the Retrofit Source, Southern Retrofit lights
