You really shouldn't be put off the wltoys 124017v2 or 124016v2 just because v1 was bad. At least they took the feedback on board and did something about it. The v2 is brilliant and definitely one of the best cheap cars out there. After all you love the 14th scale and these are basically the same with a longer chassis giving them a more stable platform, I'm sure you'd love them if you gave them a try.
40+ mph straight out the box, great platform for upgrading and £110 rtr,best value rc out there

@@beyondRC oh I must have missed that,( or forgotten)but this was a separate comment, just cause I can't see how a list of the best cheap cars can not include the 12th scale v2s. It's not having a go at you,it's more pointing out that these cars exist so should be included. It doesn't make sense as you love the 14th and it's exactly the same just bigger and different ( better ) electrics. So as you love the 14th it doesn't make sense that this better,faster,more stable car doesn't make the list at a higher position 🤔

Hey, I've got Traxxas, Arrma and HPI vehicles and I love them. However, I also have an EAT14, UDIRC Drift Truck, WLtoys 144001 and others that I also love. I don't limit myself. I watch your channel often to see what else there is available. Some are great, others not so much. Keep it up. Cheers!

I bought the WLToys 124016 v2 a couple months ago and absolutely love it. I picked up some paddle tires for our beach trip like Tomley suggested and it rips in the sand. I’m very happy with it. But I understand why you would be put off by the V1 release, it was abysmal. But V2 is amazing, fyi!
I’m just trying to find some bigger tires for it because it doesn’t really handle tall grass that well with the little 3” tires it comes with.
Prime Day has deals on HBX, picked up the 16889 for $70 and I'll upgrade it little by little. Thanks again for your content bro

fantastic.. after days if research these top two are the two we ordered for farther and son toys.. cheers for the validation. your previous reviews on hbx 901A. helped. then stumbled upon tltoys 144010 after ruling out eat version.

Thanks for a great video! I have many big and expencive rc. But i love this cheap ones too. I just bought wltoys 144010 but the cars transmitter are bad. It dont begin to drive before you have put the trigger long in. How can i fix that? Sry my english.

Between my son and I, we have the 144001, and the HBX16889, and I think the HBX is a brilliant little truck. My son has bashed the living hell out of it over the last couple of years, and apart from adding oil shocks (thanks to watching your videos), the only thing that's suffered is the shell.
Whatever your take on cheap cars over expensive ones, there's no way I would spend Xmaxx or Kraton money on someone just getting into the hobby.
The smile on my son's face when we go out with his FTX Zorro, Mauler, or HBX16889 is worth much more than the cheap cars we run. I'm sure as he gets older he'll want something more expensive, but he's learning how to drive them really well, how to look after them, and how to fix them.
He really wants the 144010, as he's seen your video on that, so you're going to cost me more money, Ricky!! 😆👍🏻
Apologies hehe!! The 144010 would be a really good step up from the 16889. Its a fast little buggy and very exciting to drive about for sure! This is why i love these cheap little cars they are perfect for people starting out and for kids!! Cheers Rob! 😎👍

The hbx you mentioned does have excellent reviews TBF, just wasn't on my radar for what ever reason, the little wltoys is one I may get later down the line, it's just that throttle delay that does put me off, thanks for your upload mate 👍🙏🐈
Cheers mate! Think there is a workaround to recalibrate the transmitter which gets rid of the delay as its also present on the violent but haven't tried it yet. If not changing the transmitter out for a cheap dumbo or something would do the trick :/
I would suggest the Bezgar hm101,Flyhall fc610, Hbx 2995 (although the 2995 has the best looking body, it has just friction shocks and the narrowest wheels and the hm101 comes with a second body) there's also a forth brand that sells it but I forgot it's name)). They have an center diff! and the Flyhall is around 100 bucks on banggood. Really solid platform when you want to upgrade in a later date. It takes a 3660 motor and put a hobbywing esc in it and you have a very solid truck. I just bought a second flyhall for the event I need spare parts. In my opinion it's cheaper than buying parts individually (like diffs or shocks,etc).
Favorite still baisc hbx 16889 brushed with oil shocks. Fast enough with a good 2s battery, waterproof, shockproof, fun, and parts so available and so cheap that for extra 50eur you can have spares for many years of abuse. Also, good ground clearance making the 1/16 actually pretty good for any terrain except tall grass.
Its exceptional and very hard to beat! Couldn't agree more 💯👍

Thank you for mentioning q few of the Amazon rc's. See to me that Bezgar, Deerc, Hosim, and the like are duplicating some MJX and HBX models

Arrma isn't much more expensive than those and it's much easier to get spare parts for cheap.
Personally i ended with an Arrma BigRock 3s Blx (which i consider a cheap RC) and a Traxxas TRX4 Traxx (which i consider an expensive RC) with all the LED lights accessories you can fit on it and i drive it at night 😅its awesome! For a First RC for an Adult i would recommend an Arrma 3s BLX probably the Typhon or BigRock are the best ones IMHO and for a kid a Typhon Mega brushed.

Very nice though personally I find the udirc 1607 and it’s siblings quite disappointing, the hbx 2188a is far superior and also wltoys 284131 is great too. I’m curious about the mix which I haven’t tried.
I do enjoy the 2188a and it does perform just as good if not better than the udirc/sg but I prefer the slightly larger size of the 1/16 chassis. Just feels a little more capable

These cheap RC cars are just as fun as the big brand expensive cars and trucks, albeit not as fast.
I had a traxxas now have an arma granite and redcat kaiju. The traxxas was worse build quality than some of the Amazon ones. The hosim 16889 ( i think?) Was a great lil car, especially being around$90 at the time. Only problem ive had is the servos. Definitely need to calibrate before use. Anyone know anything about the deerc cars?
Not a fan of DEERC the one car i featured on my channel just wasn't as good as they promised!

yes as they are all 2.4ghz
1 downside I see to successful RCs, is even though car is budget to buy, parts price quickly climbs up with popularity.
But then at least availability is then kinda guaranteed especially with hbx being rebranded so heavily
