    Can you make the mask out of elastic too? I have a ton of elastic and no fishing line

    Ginger, I respect the hell out of you, but this tutorial kinda sucks. It's not clear enough at some points, and the fact that you're using clear string on top of a white fur-like fabric makes it really hard to see the string itself while your working. Maybe it's just me, I don't get it. I've tried and tried and tried and I still can't do these.

    i don't understand the process of adding extra string. you said when adding string all you have to do thread it through the mask on the top row then pull it so the string are even.......now i have 2 string hanging out from different end, so how do i continue making making the rest of the mask by ladder stiching??? please help me understand

    • @ksnab

    this comment is for the people in the comments,
    for these masks, i use 10-11 feet of string just to be safe. you can use just elastic string if you don’t have any fishing line it won’t stay in place and you’ll have to constantly adjust the beads and tighten it so if that’s not a problem then you can just use elastic

    I’m following a pattern where do I start should I hold off on the pattern and do something else like a rainbow?

    How do you put the second string when you finished the panel?

  • @britid3877
    @britid3877 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    I figerd out the dip. And with the extra string. U say to make it even on both sides. Meaning run it till it's the same on both ? Or can I do it so a littles out and then tie it if I like?

    • @GingerCandE
      @GingerCandE  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would make it even because if you are using fishing line tying it can be difficult. If you are using elastic it's fine to tie it.

    Omg it's the easiest tutorial online thanks ginger cande!!!!!

  • @britid3877
    @britid3877 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    When u added the extra trying and said to do it all the way though do u have to tie one end so it doesn't go all the way though. Or leave it as is L

    • @GingerCandE
      @GingerCandE  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      you can leave it in the middle.

    Is the cord you get from walmart good quality? I usually get my cord for Michael's and I give bracelets to my nieces and nephews but they break them. So I'm in search of good strong cord.

    • @GingerCandE
      @GingerCandE  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I personally like the 1.2mm fabric elastic you can find at hobby lobby or michaels. It's the most durable but it's also the most thick so it makes smaller projects difficult.

    How big should the beads be?

    • @GingerCandE
      @GingerCandE  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      9mmx6mm standard pony beads.

    • @super_awsomecat6049

      @@GingerCandE not 4mm?

    • @GingerCandE
      @GingerCandE  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mini pony beads are 4mm x 7mm they will be too small for this project unless you use a lot of them.

  • @Axe5294
    @Axe5294 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Does anyone know how many beads this will take?

  • @Accapello
    @Accapello 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    I always get stuck on the right-hand end of the panel. Every time I string the last bead on the row, I get stuck and can't weave it through anything so I end up having to weave it all through a whole bunch of other beads and it gets all twisted and just looks like a mess. Is it important to end your skeleton with only one bead or can it end with two?

    • @GingerCandE
      @GingerCandE  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's possible to do it either way but it will be easier to use an even number of beads. That way you don't have to worry about beads falling off at the end.

  • @tobyg5318
    @tobyg5318 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Uh, the pattern ended with two, but yours ended with one. I know it’s kinda stupid and I know you aren’t following the exact pattern, but how would you do one with two on the end?

    Sorry but once you got to the diagonal part of got super confusing... I understood the words but because the camera was far away I couldn't visually see how you were doing it so I'm still totally lost.

      If you do not understand the basics of a flat peyote stitch you need to learn that first. This is an intermediate level tutorial for a reason.
