    Why is bad to be dependent on caffeine like coffee or energy drinks?

      @@PeterParkerwon Caffeine is a central nervous system stimulant and when consumed regularly can cause people to become locked in states of anxiety, stress, and activated fight or flight.
      Stimulants also have powerful aphrodisiac effects in about 40% of the population, meaning the consumption of caffeine can be massive trigger for porn binging for many people.
      Caffeine disturbs sleep quality, causes crashes and mood swings, huge energy variation throughout the day, and often disconnects people from their emotions, leading to a deeper sense of “emotional constipation” from built up emotions that are never felt or processed through the caffeinated haze. It makes people tired, irritable, and can even cause adrenal issues and autonomic nervous system dysfunction leading to health issues associated with high amounts of stress.
      Also, if you need something to function, it has stopped conferring any benefit - you’re just using it to temporarily feel normal for a couple hours before crashing and feeling miserable the rest of the day.
      The goal is to use caffeine, not to have caffeine use you.
      If it’s not a problem, it’s not a problem. But if you’re struggling with addiction and have trouble feeling and expressing your emotions, you probably need to quit caffeine for a period of time to do the work of recovery before reintroducing caffeine as a tool - something you don’t ever need or become dependent on to function at a high level.
