Hello, thanks for viewing this video. I don't mean to be intrusive, and I know we all get tired of the sales pitches and commericals, but, if you like funk at all...My band "The Deep Fried Funk Society" has a new cd we just released. We have a great horn section, really strong songs and some great arrangements. If you'd like to hear some of it, (and maybe purchase it) please visit: www.cdbaby.com/cd/thedeepfriedfunksociety Thanks so much and God Bless! André
Great playing always by Andre. I must say after playing Fender Jazz basses...Bass mods is making some mean Jazz basses..and to me sounds better than Fender.
Hey Reginald...thanks but let me tell you man...truthfully...and I'm not saying it to put myself down or anything like that...Man, I have worked harder than anyone on the planet at playing bass. I have practiced ruthlessly, mercilessly and continually for decades man, so if it is of any encouragement, know this: Wishing for it is one thing...but If you want something bad enough, and are willing to dedicate your life to the pursuit of it, you can make incredible strides. I decided I was going to practice harder than any other human being, and was going to eek out every last grain of whatever small amount of talent God gave me. I spent from 1986 to 1996 practicing 8 hours a day relentlessly, and after that up until now, I practice every single night, every single night! (I Don't miss!) for at least 4 - 6 hours, working on Slap, Giant Steps, Transcriptions, Fingers, Classical Pieces, Donna Lee, Groove Timing, Melodic Phrasing, Reading...and I will continue. I even practice after gigs with Sanborn in my hotel room. So my man, set the goal of what you want to get together, get to repetitive, relentlessly practicing on those things and one day someone will sat to you, "You're awesome Reginald Marcial! I wish I could play as good as you!"
Hi Andre. Awesome playing :-) Could you reveal some of specs of your bass? Its rosewood fretboard and Bass Mods own preamp I understand. But what about bodywood, pickups and pickup position? On bass Mods website, it says that you play Dimarzio Pickups - is that the case in this video?. Is the body solid or chambered? Thx :-)
Hey Nicholas! those are the Bass Mods Phatty. really focused, clear, balanced pickups. I recommend them highly. Their new so people don't know a lot about them yet, but I've had every pickup you can think of and The Bass Mods Phattys are awesome!
Hey I️ see bass mods but for example I️ have a Marcus Miller fender jazz bass. I️ don’t know much about pickups and different pre amps how can I️ know which options are best when picking from bass mods site. I️ guess I️ want to know which set ups have you liked in the past
DBass I like the Bass Mods preamp is good. I also love his ReJ5 pickups. smokin!! it's a matter of taste though...I like rosewood necks as opposed to maple. little darker and warmer. so all of these variables have an effect. I would talk to Robert at Bass Mods and tell him what your looking for as an end result and he'll make suggestions...hope that helps!
Wow, as always you sound amazing. I just wish the drum track was lower so I could focus more on the tones, and I would really like the see the bass from different angels that have a better view of the bridge, pick ups. head stock and knobs.
In my honest opinion...The Bass Mods basses are more the real deal. The Sire are a good deal for the money, but they are pretty Squire-esque unless you are fortunate enough to be able to handpick thru and choose the right one. On the whole, the Bass Mods basses are a higher quality and more consistent in build and the customization options make it even more interesting to me anyway.
Great playing I just bought a Bass Mod's bass because of this demo had me hooked.

Andre Berry thanks Andre that helped
hey what pickups this bass had on????
What is the price range on one like that?
Somewhere around $1000 bucks depending on what modification you want to put into it..(preamp choice, pickups, etc.)

Thanks Carlton!
wow. that bass sounds killler!!! is it worth the extra money compared to a sire v7? i'm only asking because i dont want to regret the bass i buy

wow. i see

If you don't me asking...what strings do you use bro? Solid groove as usual!
hey Jackie! yeah man. I use Dunlop Super Brights. great strings!
+Andre Berry oh cool! they sound great...of course, you have a say in the matter too! Hahaha! Thanks!
+Jackie Clark ha ha, after all the years of practice, I hope I have a little bit to do with it!! ha ha!!
... stop it with the sounds better than Fender Jazz crap if that's so why is all the other makers trying to sound like a Fender Jazz you got to move
