Dennis Weaver’s performance in “Duel” is amazing and a great joy to watch, so highly recommended (onTH-cam) especially if it is the first time of viewing Steven Spielberg’s classic.
You said it. "Duel" is the best! I saw it on TV once and took a liking to the movie. Got the DVD eventually. Superb from start to finish!

Yeah. Same here. "Duel" is the first and only thing that I've seen Dennis in. Either way, Dennis did us and himself proud.

Amazing person
Even though "Duel" is the only movie I've ever seen him in, Dennis was excellent all the way in that movie. I love people like Dennis. He has such a pleasant and laid-back personality. Terrific man!

What shows did Dennis weaver play
Duel was the first thing I saw him in as a kid. I was about fourteen, and always stayed up late on Friday nights watching late old movies on USA’s Up All Night. I was mesmerized by the movie. Didn’t even know he was on Gun Smoke till a few years ago😂
Chester forever. Than you mister Weaver, for entertaing me. Always.
I loved his singing as much as his acting! Not to mention his most perfect looks! It must been so hard and painful playing Chester with the brace that kept his leg straight,I having been wearing a leg and back brace since 1981 not easy!
The original "Gunsmoke" cast on radio included William Conrad as Marshall Dillon, Georgia Ellis as Miss Kitty, Howard McNear as Doc Adams and Parley Baer as the original Chester Wesley Proudfoot. William Conrad named most of the characters along with the creator and writer John Mestin. Sadly these original creator's and Actor's on "Gunsmoke" on radio are sadly forgotten even in interviews by the later television cast.
How he happily and with great manners, sits for a interview, and gets in a funny part at the end.
Dennis has every right to be proud of duel his best performance probably just ahead of an episode of the twilight zone he did
Dennis Weaver was a renowned environmentalist, who promoted the use of alternative fuels, such as hydrogen and wind power, through The Institute of Ecolonomics, a non-profit he established in 1993. He also founded an organization called L.I.F.E. (Love is Feeding Everyone), which provided food for 150,000 needy people a week in Los Angeles.
Dennis always had a great sense of humor. Watch the video of him showing his house made of tires and beer cans. Funny at the end

My right ear missed out in the interview.
Spielberg’s “Duel” is one of my top 10 favorite movies, and Weaver did a fantastic job acting in it.
His character wasn’t a completely sympathetic one, but he tackled it head on to make it even more memorable.
Unfortunately, and I’m sure I’ll get beat up for saying it, I never liked his Chester character on “Gunsmoke.”
Some of the earlier episodes of the show were great, but I always thought Weaver laid it on too heavy with his cowboy accent and constant limp.
But that doesn’t take away from all the other roles he went on to play.
It’s too bad there isn’t a more in-depth interview with him on TH-cam.

Growing up in the 70s, all they showed on TV were the Festus era shows - i only heard of this limping fellow from my dad. Now i record them for my 94 year old father and i to watch together every night. Chester Rocks. Dennis Weaver was a talented actor. I loved him in Gunsmoke. It's too bad he believed in reincarnation, and dismissed Jesus as his ticket to heaven with Christ. Hebrews 9:27: "It is appointed unto man once to die, then the Judgment." Reincarnation is one of the devil's biggest lies!

We are blessed to be living in a country (USA) with freedom of religion. In which many faiths and beliefs are practiced. Tolerance being an important one.
We have all had the first living cell pass through us in it's continuous reincarnation. Scientific fact. Hence the phrase "pushing up the daisies".
Even wise old Benjamin remarked that when it was his time to be interred he hoped to come back in a better edition.
