  • Our Mitsubishi Rosa bus conversion into a tiny off grid home continues. The floor is the next thing to go. I knew it would be a bit of a pain and it was. Anyway, it needs to come out so no good complaining just get in and do it :-). I am looking forward to some cooler weather, however the humidity is still around. So sweating is a part of this demo at the moment.

    OMG I can't believe the amount of work there is to get to the sub floor and thats not even getting it flush yet.
    You have convinced me to get a Toyota coaster because the sub floor is already flush.
    Thank you.

      Yep there was a lot of work. However you can get the flat floor which elevates all that work 😀. But the coasters are good too.

      @@OffGridisSweet ok I like the Mazda buses too because they have 2 front doors for the passenger and driver, did you consider that model as well?

    • @OffGridisSweet
      @OffGridisSweet  ปีที่แล้ว

      @anonanon9385 no I didn't consider it. But having both passenger and drivers door would be very handy.

      @@OffGridisSweet agree i would even consider removing the side door for sheet metal and just have the 2 front doors.
      But I would prefer a whole roller door for the back with maybe a foot inside the back door with a metal security screen with holes for airflow safety and privacy.

    Thanks for details you've shared with us, but why you removed the floor?

      It allowed me to check for rust, install underfloor insulation. Allowed me to fit my water tanks and run plumbing 😀

    Hi there. I'm doing the same toy Rosa. Do you know what the two handle like bits that are bolted on the drivers side and one on the passenger side ? Thanks.

      Hey Geoff have you got a pic of them.

      @@OffGridisSweet hi there. Yeah I do, not sure how to get the pic to you via TH-cam. They are on the side of the bus two on driver's side one on passengers side. On the outside. Just bolted on portruding bits of metal.

    What is the purpose of removing the floor and platform? What will you be putting in place that the existing one is not suitable for?

    • @OffGridisSweet
      @OffGridisSweet  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The platform took up a lot of headroom so removing it gave us extra space. It also allowed us to check out the chassis for any rust or damage. Also allowed us to work out our tanks. Cheers Andrew 😀
