Quick tip: Windows key + P is a real game-changer, especially when you can't see your screen! Just hit Win + P to open the display options. If you're working blind, make sure you know how to log in - I personally use a PIN for my single user account, which is pretty straightforward. Here's a simple guide: After restarting your PC, wait a bit to ensure it's ready for login. Press Backspace (to clear any accidental input), then enter your PIN or password. If it's a password, wait a moment before hitting Enter. Once you're logged in, give it a moment to load up, then press Windows key + P. Press Down Arrow once and Enter to duplicate your screens. This trick is a lifesaver when dealing with virtual desktop issues!

Hi, I’m having issues with the streaming frame rate, my host PC has a Ryzen 5 1600 and Vega 64 with the ROG ally streaming from it, on the host pc I’m getting above 60fps with games but it’s running at 30-40fps on the ally via remote play, I’ve also tried with my rtx 3060 gaming laptop and the same issue, I have a 100mbps down /50mbps upload line on a 5ghz WiFi router the host pc is connected via Ethernet . I’ve tried changing all the settings and only getting 60fps when changing to 720p with a low bitrate. When using the native steam app remote play I’m getting over 60fps with bitrate set to unlimited. What could be my issue and how can I fix it? Thanks 🙏

    • @JoeysRetroHandhelds

Hey, I have no clue what's going on there, but one thing I do know is streaming (assuming you're using moonlight and sunshine) does not affect your framerate. If your games run at 60fps without streaming, it's the same while streamed, nothing changes for performance.

Hey Joey, I have been trying to set this up and I have some issues. I can get streaming to work just fine, but I get stutters and hitching in the video stream, and no matter what I set the bitrate to (0.5 mbps or 150 mbps) it is still stuttery. (I can set the bitrate to max and it works fine other than the stutter) I found out turning on frame pacing to prioritize smoothest video makes it quite a bit better but unfortunately it’s still not perfect and it adds noticeable input lag. And my PC is getting enough FPS as well. My PC is hardwired into my router via a 1Gbps cable and I am connected to Wi-Fi on the handheld via 5ghz Wi-Fi 5 (the max my isp router supports) I am also in the same room as the router when I am having these issues. I have tried switching from h264 to hevc and to no luck. The only thing I can imagine it being at this point is my ISP router but I was wondering if you had any ideas. If I can’t figure something out I may just use prioritize smooth video and live with the occasional stutter and the increased input lag.

    • @JoeysRetroHandhelds
      @JoeysRetroHandhelds  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

I noticed when watching your video, (and I could be wrong) but I just fixed mine, but I have a Alienware AW3423DWF kick ass monitor and when I saw your resolution settings and 8bit color setup @165hz it made me think you also had that monitor.
If not disregard, but if you do there is a simple 30 second setting change you can make in nvidia control panel to allow your monitor to run at its 3440 x1440 165hz at 10-bit over your display port cable.
I was running it at the silly 100hz setting in order to enable 10bit color with HDR etc., but then friends told me the one thing I didn't try which is basically a bug, I don't know why they haven't fixed it.
Anyway, I'm using the "AMD" version with a RTX4070ti, because it supports G sync etc I'm sure you know, but also supports firmware updates.
Anyway, if this applies to youe monitor, I'll turn on my pc when home and post the two numbers I need for nvidia control panel, and then that's it, you can run it at full resolution, full refresh rate and 10bit color.
If you don't have that monitor then I realize I sound like a crazy person and you'll have no idea what I'm talking about. Lol😂haha

You just need to create a custom profile in nvidia control panel and change two numbers and thats it. It's the same stock resolution and everything. It's a bug they were supposed to fix with a new firmware update, but haven't yet.

@@JoeysRetroHandhelds thank you for your reply. Not even for 4K gaming? I wonder if 4K 60fps is going to use the entire 1Gbit bandwidth

      Nope, 1gig is 1000mbps, you'd use 150ish at most.

Anyone have an issue once everything is set up that you can’t get any input out of your device to your actual computer. I get it to put up my actual monitor screen but inputs do absolutely nothing. Not sure why my device isn’t working as a controller

Make sure the vigem driver is installed on the PC.

Can you make a video addressing the issues odin 2 has for streaming? It's garbage compared to other devices as it has a continuos network spike ayn refuses to address and it can be seen in PS remote play, moonlight and even games like Genshin where the ping will randomly go to very high for a couple of seconds
I went back to my odin 1 for streaming for this reason

I wasn't aware of these issues, I use my Odin 2 for streaming daily across multiple platforms and haven't had those problems?
