    They say use cattails to thicken punchbaits but you can use flour and cornstarch

    It works awesome with Wheaties cereal. Take 3 cups of Wheaties in a Ziploc bag and crunch them up a bit. Add 2 cans of sardines and mix with in the Ziploc bag. You might need to add more cereal or water to finish off dough balls.

      You want to use this bait on treble hooks with a spring. the spring helps one the bait on. I find the sardines with oil works better than packed in water.

      Our carp bait was always wheaties or boiled corn meal

    good vid.we have had good luck with 1 cup of corn meal, 1 cup of flour, 2 spoon fulls of garlic salt, a spoon full of vanilla, then a protein (throw either tuna, sardines, worms, bluegills, into a processer and liquefy them). combine everything with water until its the thickness of play doh. form into bite size balls then throw into a pot of boiling water. the boiling water will toughen it up enough to make sure it stays on the hook.

      I tried this recipe and it didn't hold up. I watched another video where it said using cornmeal wasn't good. It didn't have enough gluten to help set up (you could squash it). Next time, I will eliminate the cornmeal and just use all flour.

    Hey long time no hear buddy, i have found something for you to try if you ever fish more swifter rivers, or need to cast bait out farther. it is made cure-aid, it is a tube elastic mesh found only at your local med supply store, but it comes in 1/2 , 1 , inch and up. bought by ft, yrd, box, good for dough, liver, and worms, ......... lay this tubing out on the table and every 3/4in tie a knot, thall the way down, than cut right below the knot leaving very small tail. you shoud have a pocket no

    Thanks for showing your dough bait recipe! Once cooled in the fridge, will it stay on the hook?

  • @journeytheoutdoors
    @journeytheoutdoors  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Juanelo1946 yes it will. But it needs to cool in the fridge if its hot out when you go fishing take ice and cooler to keep it cool

      I stumbled onto peanut butter today while fishing with my son. I'm not sure if they were trout or catfish but those are the primary fish in the lake we were fishing at and within seconds they were taking the peanut butter so I've got to find a better way like you guys have explained to keeping it on the hook. I'm super excited to try it tomorrow! Thanks for the info

    I can't tell what kind of flour you're using, but I was told bread flour with it higher gluten content works better. I know it sure has long stringy strands.
