This ending is neither good nor bad but I still respect this ending because:

Reed gets to live.
Songbird gets to live.
Rogue gets to live.
Saul gets to live.
In fact, everyone at this point lives. Because V chooses the least bloody option.
Johnny's engram dies quietly and peacefully with V.
V doesn't have to lick Rosalind Myers' boots. She isn't a good person.
V doesn't have to be Arasaka's dog or lab rat.
V decides that he just wants to rest and ending things on his own terms by using one final bullet.
