This was a great cliff hanger - part 1 the build up and a sneak preview of the cave , then part 2 - the drama of exploring it. You tell great stories and collect stunning pictures - thanks.
It's one of the emotional videos I've ever seen. I want to say here and now: Chapeau. I think as a photographer you rarely have the opportunity to bring home an adventure with such a high yield. Deep respect and honest congratulations Klaus
Thank you kindly Klaus. I really appreciate it. It is definetly on my top three list of my own photography adventures. One I will remember for a long time!
As good as part one. You chose just the right music to evoke the emotion and mood appropriate for the scene and the moment. Part 1 + part 2 = Landscape photography video of the month!
Incredible. The images from inside the cave were just outstanding, you have every reason to feel pride after this, it must have been really satisfying after all the research and effort. I can understand your comments about feeling you’d outstayed your welcome, I’m not sure I could have gone in there at all! It’s funny how nature can sometimes just give you little signs and feelings like that, I can tell you felt uncomfortable in there. Your images will provide a lasting and truly valuable record of that place though. S.
Many thanks Sam! I was a bit nervous before heading out that I wouldn't find it, but everything worked out well as it have a tendency to do :) I was on the fence about heading down there for around 20 minutes but then after a few rock throws I figured it was very safe! When I got down though and saw that huge rock on the ground. Did it fall 20 years ago? Did it fall last week? you just don't know unless you visit those caves frequently. Thanks again mate!
I was with you in that cave, worried for your safety! So glad you got out and so happy you got to experience it safely and take and get some amazing shots. A gripping watch and filled with amazing photography 😍👍 oh and your still here to tell the tale, thank goodness! Stay safe oddbjorn.
My stunt-double did all the cave shots, I just waited outside drinking whiskey :) hehe. Thank you very much for that kind comment Mali. Stay safe yourself, and looking forward to the next podcast!
You are AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOD BLESS u n family ..i love your videos n the journey to get there ..of course the photographs Stunning !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
An incredible experience and stunning views! Yes, it's the personal discoveries made in quiet solitude that make landscape/wildlife photography so enchanting, so addictive. Thank you, Oddbjorn, once again :)
Thank you Loreta. It is very true what you write. I don't think it would feel so special and unique if I was traveling with a pack of people. Thanks for watching!
Incredible. And proud you should be, amazing piece of documentary. And the photos are quite good 😉 the cave is a LOT bigger than it hinted at in the first episode.
What a rewarding adventure. Wonderful job documenting and filming this two part series. The excitement and emotion of finding the cave certainly came through. I personally would not have ventured inside the cave, but I'm glad you did. You got some keepers in there. Keep up the great work!
A truly amazing journey and experience Oddbjorn. That’s all I can say as words cannot do it justice, and what an awesome image to finish on. Truely amazing.
Wow, what an amazing series, Oddbjørn! I have somehow overlooked these two episodes when you released them...Just watched both episodes now, and i have to say, this is my favourite series of yours! 😍 A really beautifull and compelling story!
I've always been curious about norse mythology and Scandinavia because my family is from Norway. It was so cool to see you exploring this stuff with landscape photography, and your film making captured that feeling of wonder and being there perfectly!
That was wonderful, what a pair of videos. I'm so glad you found it but I certainly appreciate your respect and apprehension at approaching such a place.
Really astonishing work! It's been great to tag along with you for this incredible adventure, really something worthy of a documentary. The captures are beautiful too... but that time spent in that valley, under such impressive mountains, alone... that's really priceless. Thank you for sharing it with us! I can't wait to see what you have in store for us next!
Thank you kindly Kevin. I filmed it in Norwegian as well for the television. Maybe they'll send it, I don't know. Next video will feature a completely different scenery, and some wildlife :)
Stunning adventure Oddbjorn! I watched part one and couldn't wait for part two. Congratulations on finding the cave and fulfilling a longtime dream. Well done and thanks for taking the viewers along for the ride. Fantastic storytelling. Your channel is massively under subscribed. Cheers, Jeff
Thank you so much for taking us on this magical adventure! And I loved your photographs from inside the tunnel. The beautiful tones and shapes, their almost abstract quality and yet how organic they felt to me (even though it was just ice!). Stunning. The cradled peak, by your camp site, was fun too :)
Thank you for watching and those kind words 🦊 I know what you feel by the organic feel. The ice underneath reminds me of muscles sometimes 🙂 thanks again!
What a great adventure, and fantastic images from the ice cave. As always, thank you for letting us share in your travels. Great Dylan reference at the end 😉
Many many thanks Neil! I appreciate it. I usually sing to myself when I’m in the mountains all alone, and this time «one more cup of coffee» was on my mind the entire trip 🦊🙂 so I thought I would add it into the video as well 👍
I have to agree with Klaus. The photos are a piece of art as always. The photo of the mountain in the little creek was outstanding, real masterpiece. I feel like you have somehow grown as a filmmaker, this time you really captured the excitement, the gifts that the nature can give you and the appreciation you get when it all just comes together perfectly. It really was an emotional moment when you had just stepped out of the cave and you where talking about it and i felt like you showed us your honest emotions, that was beautiful. Keep em coming, we love it :) Jarl-Erik
What a lovely and rather moving experience in that cave. It’s like a difference era frozen in time. You took some cool (pun intended) shots, Oddbjørn! And it was awesome to experience the outdoors through you during lockdown here in the US. Thank you and enjoy life and stay healthy and safe!! 🤞🏼😊🙏🏼
Oddbjørn that was absolutely outstanding bit of film-making & storytelling. I thoroughly enjoyed both episodes & your journey. You captured some amazing images from the abstract intimate photos of the ice in the tunnel to the wonderful images of mountain coloured by the sun as though it had been dipped in gold. What a super place to camp & have all to yourself. Yes you you had to suffer some for your art in braving the cold to photograph the mountain in all its glory with golden hat & the risks of descending into the ice tunnel to capture its beauty but it was definitely worth it cos you got some outstanding images & produced two great vlogs...I for one thank for your efforts... Simply Superb.... Best Wishes David
A thoroughly enjoyable video, the images from the ice cave were stunning and hauntingly beautiful, balanced perfectly with your gift of story-telling. It will be a challenge to top this one Oddbjorn!
Thank you for taking us on this adventure. You are an amazing storyteller and photographer and i am so happy I discovered your channel. Takk skal du ha.
What a fantastic vlog I really enjoyed watching. It looks such a great location, the cave was beautiful although did look fragile so can understand your worry. You captured some lovely images.
Well respected Oddbjorn. Humbling moment in life huh!? Beautifully filmed man. Stunning! Nie to see us both featured recently on Chris Sales Channel. Ian Smith did challenge me with the 1000 step challenge, but i couldnt get out to do it! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK. love your story telling. Regards, Ewan

Lovely stuff Oddbjorn. I know exactly that feeling of awe and ‘not wanting to hang around’ under the ice. My ice cave video is no story like yours tho! Bravo.
oddbjørn austevik foto. It feels old and poorly shot now. Was a cool place tho. 18 months on, this entire section of this cave that we were in has melted and disappeared. 😥 th-cam.com/video/X-dpgf8Gxp8/w-d-xo.html
What an amazing video! Such a beautiful location. I love the color of the glacial ice as well as its shapes, just as the one in your Svalbard videos. Phantastic! Allow me one gear-head question still, which camera are you filming with? Best wishes! Markus
Thank you very much! It might be the essence of what I'm drawn towards when it comes to photography. The color, the shapes, the history. It all speaks to me. Thanks again! All walking shots and some of the b-roll is shot with the S1. All talking shots are filmed with my iphone 11.
A very nicely filmed and told story, thanks. How long are the days up there now? Do you exposure bracket (manual or automatically) just in case or for later blending?
Hi Steve! The days are quite long. At the time it was around 17 hours with daylight. No, I didn't bracket this time. I was pretty sure I would get what I wanted without :) Thanks!
