  • We run the "Bake" function again to create a baked Ambient Occlusion map,
and show the process of hooking that map into the Blender material for
export to glTF. Towards the end we show a bit of Visual Studio Code (VSCode)
and its ability to preview and hand-edit glTF files.

These videos are so helpful. The clearest explanation by far around baking images and gltf exporting.

    Thank you, thank you.
I needed to bake some "COMP.PNG" files together for MSFS2020 and this tutorial is perfect. It has answered all my questions as to why AO seemed to be a disconnected node, yet was able to be baked into a GLTF with the roughness and metallic from the Principled BSDF.

The custom node group must have a name of "glTF Settings" in order for the exporter to find the Image Texture attached there to use as the occlusion map in glTF.

Wow this was an amazing series.
If i want to bake textures on to one texture... do i need to set only one UVMap for uvmapping the geometry and then another UVBake for creating UVs for that bake textures?
    Really stuck with this.

Great tutorial, thank you helped me a lot. I wonder if you could explain how to integrate an HDRI into blender, for Gltf export. Thanks

Great video series! I have the the addon but the gltf settings node doesn't show so I can add one. Any clue why? Thanks (2.90.1)
