Thanks for posting this, trip down memory lane for me, fished here 40 years ago. No otters back then but fish were being taken to eat. Good luck in your pike quest this winter 👍
I grew up in colwick, I fished Trent many times, and what was known as little Trent and the loop, Carp, bream, tench, easily 20 yrs ago. Great blast from the past for me to watch this. Thanks for the video
Spent most of my youth there (50+ years ago). The old Trent used to widen if you continued towards Nottingham. One all-time best session was where the two met and the river was higher than in the video.
I really learned a lot from this video. As a novice Thames angler, I am really keen to see when you start fishing the trent as I am in the same predicament myself with the current river levels.
My husband watches all your pikeing videos he want your new book he can't wait he a big fan all the best he said he hope you get your dream pike good luck friend
Cant believe i missed you!!! Thats the stretch im on. Sadly the branch off you were walking down was cleared out by poaches with nets a few years ago. However the river spot i call the cave casting over to where the slalom finishes is a good spot. Also the dog bin peg pretty good too. 👍
Love a different video! & intelligent content, really enjoyed your take on things, look forward to your next video lee & good luck with your fishing & channel/ book !
The hole stretch from the trent back to the old loop are devoid of fish not even a good head of silver fish such a shame as it is a nice quiet place to fish . Tight lines for the coming pike season 🎣🐊
We used to fish that stretch up near the bridge as kids I caught my first pike there on sprats the Trent’s good in summer if you walk out to the island
Used to be called the loop it opens up into a pond that was run by the police . My friend caught a massive 2 pound roach over 50 years ago in the pond .
It's so depressing to see so many rivers destroyed by people taking fish, I realise that natural predators play their part too but in my area I know there are a lot of people taking fish out the river. If they were starving I could understand it, but they're not. ATB MMMD
You mentioned Wykeham syndicate. There are a few good pike still in there but nothing monsterous. The big girl died a few years ago. In short, keep doing what you do mate. Youre missing nothing there.

Thinking of trying the Trent on Tuesday for some deadbaiting hopefully levels are down a bit now to enable me to find a nice slack area
Good luck Steve

Watercraft 👍 nice editing mate enjoyed that, what drone do you use & how do you find using it in the wind?
Cheers Andy , I use Mavik mini - it's ok in moderate wind conditions

A lot of pike being taken out the nene ,big groups of lads with lures and spinning roads ,real shame but not enough people about to control it 🙄
Great video m8
Cheers pal
Another great video. Joined belvoir waters this season. I know it's not an easy water but think it may be worth a go. Fish mainly the severn and wye.
Have you tried below Beeston Wier for Pike?
Yes mate some nice pike on that stretch
fish robbers are doing my head in around where i live, so many big fish have been taken and its such a shame, take a pic and put it back
Ruins the sport mate
