Knowing that drain pretty well I know it used to be a Mecca for specimen fish but not now they have been decimated by predators from all sides , I've pretty much given up on piking around the area

Hi I've just started fishing on the river trent and you said in this video you like a right line. I always like a right line just for pure indication and to stop deep booking pike. But I was told not to tighten my line up and I'm struggling to get my head round not having right lines ..can you give me any advice on river pike fishing in terms of do I keep my line right or not please ...I'm only use to lakes and canals with slack water.

I Love watching your videos , the content is great … I’ve recently moved to Yaxley next to Peterborough do you have any tips on any rivers / fenland drains to visit ? wouldn’t expect you to reveal any of your spots , I just have no idea where is good for a day session around the area and there is so much potential in this part of the of the country .. I’ve fished a small local drain down the road from my house and had a few small pike but would love to try a bigger drain if you could point me on the right direction.. keep up the great content pal 👌

Have you tried prebaiting a water like this? Prebait for both the baitfish(groundbait,particles, corn etc) and ofc with some deadbaits. I like to prebait for baitfish at first, big pikes is following the food.

Great video. Thing is if you don't try and put the time in you won't catch. This season is my best on the river and watching your videos really has helped. The sardines you showed are doing well.

My fen pb 26 and change, came from a main drain offshoot on a plug in crystal clear water. I watched her take the lure. Still my best angling experience nearly 30 years on.

After fishing the fens for pike for 50 years. I know them like the back of my hand. Won’t give away your fishing area but had some big pike out of there. It has definitely gone down hill since the 70s and 80s. Had some great fish from near the kings Lynn end as well. Middle level and the cut off channel. Retired from pike now arthritis means I can’t walk the miles now. Your fishing brings back the memories. I too was a solitary fisherman. Keep the videos coming

Great stuff bud! The pike in my club lake have been well moody so far this winter. I've had a few small doubles on lures, but it's been hard going. My campaign for a big one on deadbaits starts tomorrow. Pretty much no one fishes for them as it's mostly carp anglers, so they've been neglected. I've seen definite 20's, so I'm well excited!
