🇳🇴 /🇸🇪 Kalandra is an alternative Nordic alternative rock/pop band spearheaded by four Norwegian/Swedish musicians weaving ethereal melodies into raw and eerie musical landscapes
I thought they were Norwegian. They studied music in Liverpool 10 years ago or something and founded the band with one from England and one from Isle of man. They split and I thought they were a trio now with just Norwegians… (maybe a swedish came in later, after this album was made)?

This is a love song to nature I reckon. The line at the end sums up the message of the song. 'We love the sea but the sea does not love us'. So true. As for the ungrateful souls, I think that alludes to the Viking tradition of sending their kings or other VIP's out to sea in burning boats.
