I’m the kid Misha said “nice shirt btw” to at 3:15, and at the signing afterwards when I walked up to their table Mark points at me and goes “I used to have that shirt!!” and I was like “yeah man it’s an original, I bought it off eBay for like $120!” (I was wearing a vintage Meshuggah shirt from 2002, Nothing era) and then him and Misha started talking about it and Mark said he bought the same shirt from Hot Topic in the early 2000s Had an amazing time at the event, thank you so much to Guitar Center Hollywood and the Periphery guys for putting this together!! Can’t thank you enough
I love watching interviews with these guys. The entire band seems approachable and willing to give info on their success, failures, personal lives, etc. It's enlightening.
"If You can get past the looks" Misha talkin like their signature models look metal or extreme lol. They are just sweet looking super strats that any dad would be happy to rock!
Jake and Misha's are only barely pointy, but they've gotta be the least offensive 'pointy' guitars of all time. Love them, would own multiple colors of all of them if I had the means/need.
This was awesome. Favorite band since the beginning, and their tone is always god tier. Also glad to hear it won’t be another 4 year wait til the next album cause I’m ready for the next one!
I had such a great time today! I'm from Montreal but happened to be visiting LA this week, the timing was more than perfect and the experience was surreal!
The funny thing is that when Mrak said that he blames the gear for messing up a solo or a riff, in Italy, last January, a cable disconnected itself while he was attempting the high five with Misha 😂 we love you guys ❤
Not a huge fan of Periphery, But of course I know the Mark Holcomb PRS Se guitar. Cool. Then I saw him at Replay Guitars Tampa clinic and he was such a nice knowledgeable well spoken gentleman I had to look into it more. And here, he once again proves his knowledge, and humble ease. Mark Holcomb...amazing!!! keep up the great work playing and inspiring people.
17:24 Correct me if I'm wrong but looks like they're using the thumping technique for Make Total Destroy. Never realized they used that for that song or in fact any of their songs. That's a cool find.
In China, there is a legend about Periphery that the relationship between the three guitarists is very bad, but judging from the video, the relationship between the three of them is not bad.
If I remember correctly, things were a bit rocky around the Juggernaut albums so it’s possible that the rumor stemmed from that. As far as I’m aware though things have very much been patched up since then
@@terraknight0447 just check out pilini's live session. Absolutely stellar quality. Obviously the circumstance is much diffrence but the potential is there

1:41:46 The Way The News Goes
2:18:24 Wax Wings
Goated comment
I feel like one of the few who care more about the talking than the songs XD
(I love the songs too lol)
@@TheTabletopEmpire Yeah and their answers were worth listening to. Great stuff!
They played Wax Wings at the end as well.
Literally my favorite band and my musical heroes
The Way The News Goes is one of their catchiest songs, in both vocals and guitar riffs
"If You can get past the looks" Misha talkin like their signature models look metal or extreme lol. They are just sweet looking super strats that any dad would be happy to rock!
I have a Misha sig, so yeah.

"Jake, how did you start Guitar"
"Well you see, my uncle is John F#*&ing Petrucci."
Lol, is that for real? Which minute is it?
@@DanzEnglish While he is his nephew, Jake didnt say this haha, i was being funny
@@TheTabletopEmpire he's not his "real" uncle tho, Petrucci is maried into his familiy
I was literally thinking the same thing and wondering why he didn't mention it. But I understand why he would be quite about it too.

4 years really flew by tho
Misha is a FANTASTIC orator
I had such a great time today! I'm from Montreal but happened to be visiting LA this week, the timing was more than perfect and the experience was surreal!
I will never get the opportunity to meet with these three, but I’m thankful this was organized and I can watch this experience. Thank you GC 🙏🏾
Thank you for doing this! What a bunch of solid dudes!

This is the best Periphery workshop/interview I've ever seen. Thank you for this!
Awesome!!!!! Really need to watch this whole thing at some point. Only complaint is the audio level seems low. Anyone else notice this?
Seeing new videos like this pop up makes me happy :)
SAME I’ve been waiting so long!!
1:38:45 "look what I can do on guitar" is what made P1 so great but that's just me I guess lmao.
Buncha legends doin legend shit. Love these boys.
I like so much!! You ate amazing guys!
Misha is so forthcoming about his knowledge of recording.
Obviously I love this band but it's always so nice listening to these guys talk about their music and gear
Thank you GC
That was awesome! I love all the insight they gave us.
It’s cool to see Jake playing his original sig model

I believe the section was inspired by Tosin's thumping, but it's not exactly the same technique. In Make Total Destroy it's just slap
Ain’t thumbing though!
It is some kind of slap/string pulling.
it's out of context but i love Mark's talking voice
Starts at 1:45
Really love this, just wish the performances weren’t in mono…
Would love to see Mark visit Subic again
Make Total Destroy is so damn good
blackwater park is indeed highly recommended
The riff after 47:10.... amazing
You can really feel the coordination between the 3 guitars in the tone. Awesome !
2:17:59 sweet child o mine Mark's version lol
