I read Born, Darkly because it was this month’s book and totally agree it’s a great one for thriller lovers! It read way more like a psychological thriller for me and I loved how real and dark it went. The ending and cliffhanger was so good!

I’ve been meaning to read Cambria Hebert’s original hashtag series for FOREVER. I think I’ve owned the whole series for over a year. Can’t wait for next month’s smunthly pick!
I havent gotten to read any romance in so long omg 😭 I've been buddy reading gigantic fantasy books all year and it's all I have time for with how much I work...however I have one more book to busy read and then I can read whatever I want and I am so excited about it
So I always love you but right now I really love you. I'm 75% through Fake Out I love it. They are the cutest couple ever. The banter hilarious and I'm so invested in these characters.
i'm not sure about every kind of practice, but my mom works in an office next door to a dentist and she's seen them bring prisoners to the dentist, like one time she was going to her car and there was a prison transport vehicle and they were escorting the prisoner inside the dentist's office and he had chains on and stuff, so i'm not sure how it works!
I just read Born Darkly and the sequel last week... and whilst I was mostly impressed at the quality of the writing I'm a bit freaked out by it TBH! Needless to say, I haven't read much dark 'romance' lol. I'm glad you said that this book is not a romance though, because whilst it _is_ a bit of a love story between the two MC's (and even that's debatable and perhaps mutual obsession, as you say, is a better way to describe it), there was nothing in the least bit romantic about it. Especially considering the things that they did to each other but that is moving into book 2 territory... sorry! I think my issue is not so much that Grayson is a serial killer (!) but the _nature_ of his kills and how much he enjoys it. I've read other stories with assassin/serial killer MC's that don't take so much pleasure in the act and that seems to make a huge difference to me - we each have our own limits I suppose. I also didn't think that London's past kill was as bad as was made out, given who and why she did it so I'm a bit puzzled at how they both decided that she was the same as him...? Anyway, TFS :)
The fireblood dragon books by Ruby Dixon are so good as well! I do agree the first ice plant book was the best, i read all of her books from that series as well as her others. There are some real gem in the totality of her series but some are minor duds!❤

aaaah can I suggest Dirty Angels by Karina Halle? It's also considered a dark romance though, so not sure if you'd want to read something like that twice in a row. Either way, I'm definitely intrigued to check this book out!
Omg if you read the first book in the merry gentry series as your Bookclub pick I would scream I fucking love laurell k Hamilton and this series is 100% quality reverse harem smut

Kira's story book #3 is much better. Yes book #2 is horrible. By far, Ice Barbarian book #1 is the best of the series.

They have psychiatrists in prisons, its too risky to have inmates just leave lol the author probably just changed that to make the story work
