For drywall, do we have to drill or can we just twist screws in?
If there’s a 2x4 behind the drywall, you can just screw into it, because the 2x4 will hold the screw in place. But if there’s no stud (2x4) framing behind the drywall, then you’ll need to use some additional type of anchoring sleeve, otherwise it will all rip out under the weight of the shelf. I suggest you watch some videos where the person verbally explains what he/she is doing.
