The analysis is always nuanced. As an artist yourself, you know very well that taking on a 'Mariah Medley' (and not just any Mariah medley - a medley that closes with "Fly Like A Bird") is like trying to execute a quadruple axel in figure skating. It's almost impossible to land. Mori deserved a lot of leeway for any mistakes throughout this medley, like a figure skater deserves a higher base score for simply attempting a very complex routine. The astonishing thing is, Mori barely wobbled throughout the performance. An insane performance by a 20 year old diva. I've never heard anyone get this close to capturing the technical nuances, as well as the vocal registrations of a Mariah Carey. I got serious goosebumps throughout, especially when she nailed that run at the climax of "Can't Take That Away" (7:22).
What an amazing performance! She makes it look and sound so effortless and seamless that you can overlook just how challenging this trio of songs really is, until a professional singer points it out. And her passion - she seems very aware and sensitive to the thoughts and feelings of these lyrics and appears to truly embody them and projects it so that we vicariously share in her emotional experience. Few singers have that special ability to draw you in and captivate like Mori.
Your analysis to Morissette is always on point. She absolutely killed this medley. I love her mariah covers/tributes. And who sings mariah medleys? It's vocal suicide. It's not a big deal, who's can do whistle! In ph, l believe they're many able to do whistle tones. But, to have a delicate exquisiteness, not many have such abilities. Only this two Queens M, Mariah and Mori justice it. ❤

I myself believe that 95% of these people are not as talented as they are made out to be (singers). I mean there are exceptions (Kelly Clarkston among a handful of others) but the majority couldn't hold a candle to Morissette and aren't near as good as a lot of other Philippino singers. They become famous because of the exposure from the show, not from their talent. And usually the one with the best sob story ends up winning. Nobody wants to see people suffer from deaths or sickness but that shouldn't give you the edge for winning either. Just my opinion.
