Thanks Matt! I've had a few people ask me about doing a video on my kit and recording process. Hopefully I will get one done sometime soon. As for a quick rundown, I have a very low budget and self-taught process. Nothing too technical by any means. I use Cad pro mics, one on each drum and 2 overheads. I run those to a Behringer 2442 mixer that has a built in USB interface. I run out of the mixer to my laptop. For recording, I use the free Audacity software. I play along to drumless tracks that I find on TH-cam or I will make them using Moises. I record my drums only, add a little eq and reverb in the post mix and then sync my drum track with the drumless track. I then export that out as the final wav or mp3 to use. For video editing, I use another free program called VSDC. I use an off-brand GoPro to record my video. I mute it, and lay the audio mix over the video and sync those up. I export that to an MP4 and off to TH-cam it goes. I don't do any punch ins or editing with the audio. Everything is done in one take with one camera which makes the editing much easier for me. That's basically the process I use. I hope that helps a little and please feel free to ask if you have other questions. I'm happy to pass along any information that I can!
@@EricPatton-NC How cool would that be?!?! I always appreciate your feedback and the kind words my friend! I have a lot of fun making these videos and meeting fellow drummers like yourself!
Kenny, I just stumbled onto you on TH-cam and think you are wonderful. I am looking at the way you sit at your set. It looks like you are sitting at a double bass set the way you are squared up facing pretty much straight ahead with the bass drum and snare lined up. I see your bass pedal isn’t lined up with the bass like a regular single bass pedal is, and I see two pedals to the left which I assume are a high hat pedal and a double bass pedal. The angles are a mystery to me. How do the thumper dodads hit your bass drum. I get the left bass pedal, but I don’t see how the right one hits unless the shaft for the thumper thingy is at a sharp angle. I hope this makes some kind of sense. Anyway, great drumming.
@@gregwonhoff7161 Hello Greg! To answer your question simply, I use a pedal called the Offset Eclipse. If you Google it, you will see an image of what it looks like. It allows me to sit as though I'm playing a double bass kit but only using a single base. It is a game changer of a pedal! Ergonomically, you are correct. I am able to sit straight on with the drum set which allows me to reach everything much better. Thank you so much for checking out my page and commenting!
@ Wow, I just checked these out. They certainly don’t give them away do they. I’m a 75 year old self taught drummer. I think I will just have to deal with what I am using now. Anyway, thank you again for telling me about these cool pedals.
Great playtrough my man
Love the sound of your mix🤘
Thank you brother! Always fun to jam some old 80's hair metal!
Sounds great! I'd be interested in a quick outline of your process. Mics, interface, DAW, etc. Keep it up!

@ Well, my new friend, that pedal is certainly broadening the horizons of positioning. Thank you for getting back to me ❤️🙏🏻
