Douglas. Isle of Man in video and pictures

We visited the Isle of Man recently 2024 and I took a few photo's and video clips. It's a nice place to visit especially when the weather is nice. Friendly local people as well which is nice.

War Memorial: very proud to say that my late uncle/first cousin the architect Ewart Crellin senior (1870 - 1950) designed and erected that fabulous monument circa 1926.
Ewart also designed another memorial at Lezayre Parish in 1924, on which his only son's name was inscribed in 1946.
His son, my late cousin, was RAF Sergeant Observer Ewart Harrison Crellin junior (1912 - 1939), and he served with Bomber Command. Ewart junior was shot down over the Rhine by Nazi fighter ace Werner Moelders (1913 - 1941). Sergeant Ewart Crellin's parents were formally notified of his death on Dec 24th, 1939.
