Love that you "just do a little spin around the track" at the end and pass literally everyone out there, maybe twice!!! Well done. Looks like an amazing day.
I was in your group that day! It was my first time on track as well. Feel like I improved loads with the advice from you and Barry, so thanks mate 👍 I enjoyed it so much I had to book both days at anglesey next week!

The content on this channel really is fantastic. And I'm not even a biker! You're a natural at this, Lee, & I look forward to seeing & hearing a lot more from you on the TT coverage when you do eventually hang up the leathers. Not for a while yet though, eh?

Amazing , thanks for sharing this video, I had a fantastic time , and with your help I was able to learn body positioning , getting the bum over 😂, look forward to the next session with JW , can't make it this year but will definitely be seeing you sometime next year , all the best
Never even ridden a bike😂 but found this an incredibly interesting watch. Interesting to see what the learning process is like for new track day riders, and your coaching as a pro rider.
Great day, loved every min. I was fortunate enough to go to superbike school back in the 80's .... yes i am older lol, it was at Road Atlanta , scared myself , but loved it , great to see you smile and havin fun Cheers
Great insight Lee, good idea and enjoyable content. A breakdown of associated costs, fuel, tyres, the JW track experience and bike options. Can you hire bikes? Well done mate, your really turning your recovery into something special. Topman
I'm the wrong end of my 30's did my first track day on my 890 duke last month at Jurby Race Track on the IOM. ive always had at leaszt 10mm of chicken strip on my tyres from almost 20 years riding on the road. these had all gone from the left side in the AM session (anticlockwise run) and from the right in the PM session when we switched directions. one session increased my confidence in my bikes front tire 10 fold. to anybody on the fence about doing it, get to your local track and join in with the beginners group you will be surprised how crap you aren't in comparison to other riders. (except in my case where the Crowe brothers were ripping the piss on their groms and they got pushed up a class as they were too quick for the beginner group🤣🤣)
Hey Lee, I'd love to do one of these with you, but my only problem would be riding slow enough for you to catch up!🤣😉👍🏻 If you're racing at Brands BSB this weekend then best of British to you Sir!👊🏻
I’ve never done a track day as put off being in way of all faster riders right from the off But this looks like an amazing setup get you up to speed and safe great job 👏
I grew up in Portrush and enjoyed the NW200 since I can remember. I live 20 min from Hampton Downs in NZ now and have been a track day nut there for years. Come & do a track day with me next summer Lee ... our summer, not yours 😂
Lee you have a gone a long way to dispel the myths of riders worried about track daya . I did one years ago no names mentioned and it was a nightmare just riders all in the wrong groups feckin about I woild love to do one of theze on my old 1999 a Zx7r !! Stay safe mate
Thanks for that insight I'm really keen to get on the track only thing is Australia don't seem to see much track insurance available so not to keen put espensive s1000r on track n think buying cheaper licensed Daytona or gsxr at some stage... especially my local track I can hear it from a distance when it's raceday
Do you know what Lee….I found the same. I used to teach people to drive AND teach people to be driving instructors….ladies were always easier to teach. They listened more, and they wanted to learn. You would explain something and 20 mins later you would see them putting into action what you’d talked about, where as a guy, or a young man would. You’d say to them “what did we talk about out earlier?” and they’d just say “ugh?” They didn’t listen the same and wanted to think that they knew it all. At the end of the day, I’m not saying ladies made better drivers…..just as good, but easier to teach because they enjoyed learning…..
Do you think some people come to Mr Whitham’s track days to meet the instructors and J Whitham himself as to going on other track days with less famous riders?
A need try track days having foot drop a have struggled to scrub rear edge to edge am 6ft8 tall lowered the pegs on my SXR just for comfort just not getting the buzz a once was. Keep chipping away knockhill my nearest track always raining haha
Not watched yet but really looking forward to it. I have wanted to do a track day but don't like the idea of the cock, I mean chicken strip, measuring. Heard Whitham's track days are excellent for us slowbies so I will watch and then book up... maybe. Verdict: very reassuring. Seems quite accessable really. Although I did notice some guy on a race bike nip up the inside of a few folk in to the chicane at the end there. Probably caused a few brown trousers moments.😉
Honestly please do give it a go that’s the whole point of this vlog to get road riders that are worried about doing it to talk the plunge i promise you won’t be disappointed 👍🏻

Track days 🤔 so scary but after an hour you will not want to leave. One of the most important times ever on a motorcycle and will make anyone a better rider don’t sit there thinking about it just book it 👍🏻 many years ago I was at a track day at Mallory and was racing round with people like James Toseland who turned up in his school uniform because he was bunking off school to go racing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Aaaarr the good old days 🏍️💥💨🏍️💥💨💨💨🏍️💨💥💨💨💨💨
Never done a track day in over 40 years of riding. I have never had confidence in my ability on a bike, because I have never been any good on a bike. And am one of those people that unless I can ace something I don't like being watched. Same with golf. Only played on my own, same reason. My sport was Badminton at which I was reasonable. Didn't care who watched. Played in front of crowds. Even TV cameras. Strange thing the human mind. I can imagine a track day with you would be pretty relaxed. You have exactly the right demeanour for teaching, and the humour combined. Think turning up and your instructor is Michael Dunlop. Eminently qualified but just as scary. Plus English isn't his first language. Too bloody old now. I will continue to potter around slowly and badly until I can't anymore.
Those poor riders at the end..been riding all day getting faster and faster thinking they have mastered riding a race track, than at the end of the day Lee comes blasting past you like you are standing still..😂 I know, Lee is on his race bike, I just joking.
