debbie stewart thanks Debbie! I did 70 boys 10-14 on about $3 a box, so my budget was tight but they were full and I hope the children enjoyed them!! :).
Thank you for sharing your assortment of packing items. Right away I was wondering if you were Canadian. I recognize the accent on "about" and another couple of words. I had a Canadian influence on my accent, since I grew up in Niagara Falls, NY. It is not as noticeable now since Ive lived in California since 1980😊
Really enjoyed this video! I've started collecting things year-round for OCC Shoeboxes. I'm also sewing bags, pencil cases, etc. Would love to know where you found deals. I'm always on the hunt! Hope you'll keep posting.
Are you from the US? Sticker packets are from stickers people don't use and give to me. I cut away the used looking sections. SO much handmade... The notebooks, crayons, pencil crayons, and polo shirts were all from Walmart. Be patient, wait until a month or so before school begins and you will get them so cheap! My toothbrushes and bars of soap I coupon! Sandals are Old Navy $1 dollar sale, and actually most were bought for me by friends. I also am on the hunt during garage sale season... so many small toys unopened in packages! In this video, many of the mcdonalds toys are from my aunt, who's grandkids don't bother with the toy but like McD's. The HotWheels cars were actually from a garage sale :) In Canada here, I also go to a store called Giant Tiger and Dollarama, and I am constantly watching for what stores are going out of business.... :) Happy Packing, enjoy and thank you for your generosity!
Such great tips! Yes, I'm in the US. I never think to check out garage sales. Just hadn't crossed my mind. I may do that, though! I just recently discovered a store called Dirt Cheap that we have here in my city- they carry a lot Target things that didn't sell or maybe are overstock. Most 50-70% off, so I got several $0.30 items the other day (mainly school supplies). I've been making pencil packs as filler items that I'll send directly to the processing centers that they can use for boxes that maybe aren't as full. Of course, also love to make several actual shoeboxes when the season rolls around. I'll be keeping up with your channel!@@chantellek3982
I am totally amazed by your stash! I love the homemade items by you & your grandma. I would love to hear your tips on how to get your items so inexpensive. Where do you get the pop up Frisbees? Thanks for sharing. Would love to see a box put together.😎
Shoebox Fanatic the pop up frisbees were from a retired teacher getting rid of her “prize stash”... but they are also available on Amazon or eBay. They refer to “folding flying disc”. I will do some put together boxes after my little guys birthday in a few weeks :)
It looks like you own a store with that much stuff. This Tuesday at dollar general some of the shoes and clothes is going to be a penny and I’m going to save them for shoe boxes next year.
Maria B if you click on my name you’ll see my channel where I have posted videos of a few of the actual shoeboxes :). I am going to post 1 a day until the collection week is over :)
I'm so glad your back. Your videos are the best I've seen for Operation Christmas Child. All of your do it yourself ideas are so helpful. Do you have a place where I can get the crayon and playdoh labels you used last year. I can't draw but my son wants to make crayons this year and I love including playdoh.
Wow!! Thank you so much for sharing. That is amazing!! I'm wondering how long it took you to get your stock?? I love how you have everything set up. Any tips or tricks for us who are living on a fixed budget?
Melanie Vogt I spent $300 for 100 boxes. My tips would be: tell everyone you know what you are doing. I often received donations from ppl at my church, etc. Even a lady would collect zippers for me for my pencil cases :). My other tips would be: Craft what you can/sew- within reason so it doesn’t look like a kids craft. Shop clearance aisles and after holidays - easter is a good one. Also, garage sales will often have new items. In Canada here there is an annual fundraiser done in schools called “Jump Rope for Heart”, every kid is gifted a skipping rope. (So a family with 3 kids will have 6 of these skipping ropes after just 2 school years... most often they are still in the plastic bags!)
Chantelle K, I will definitely check it out. Do you hand-write all of you notes to the kids, or do you print them off? I’ve had good intentions of including hand-written notes in my boxes for the last several years, but I always seem to run out of time.
Halle Lujah I don’t hand write them, I also would run out of time... sorry I don’t show a sample... I don’t want to share the photo of my son or his name. Basically I say: Dear Child, we are a family of 3 living in ____. At Christmas time it snows here, and Our son (insert name and age) likes to toboggan down hills for fun (I have a photo of tobogganing). We hope you enjoy your gifts and we love you! Jesus loves you! “ then our names, our mailing address (again we have a post box), a specialty email address and my Facebook page (I find most responses come through Facebook messenger!!)
Emily89 do you mean explain where I got the items? And yes, I collect all year. I live in Canada - so I don’t get as steep of sales as many American Shoebox shoppers ;)
Cari Elswick for girls I will buy size 14 or ladies small; for boys I do men’s small but usually a boys 14/16. For socks, often adult socks are sufficient, too big of socks are OK. And for flip flops, my 12yr old niece is my judge.. I buy women’s size 5-7, and men’s size 7-8 usually. Sometimes donated material is slightly different but the person purchasing it may have different experience in sizing so I trust their judgement!
Chloe King absolutely :). I think I cut that portion of the video out just so I don’t show off my own address on TH-cam ;). It’s a hard concept to grasp, but a lot of these countries have easy access to email too. (They do not have the internet fees us North Americans do). I usually offer both addresses and I haven’t yet been written a snail mail letter but have gotten a few emails and Facebook messages :)
How nice ! The hand made items are such a love gift !
I am inspired.
Bless you
M
Several great items there! Gives me some new ideas. Thank you! ❤❤❤
Boy you have a lot of goodies to go in those boxes! The boys will love them!
Wonderful ideas! I have always done the younger kids but this year I am going to also do some older boys
You have incredible ideas that I will definitely keep in mind for next year as I wasn't aware that boys ages 10-14 are the ones to least get a box!
So much awesome shoebox stuff! So many children will be blessed with this!
I hope so!! :D I received replies from a few older boys this past year... So excited to get these sent out and in their hands!
Oh my gosh!!! I love it 😮😍 well thought out for older boys 👍
This is the nicest box packing idea I have seen for boys 10-14 year olds!!
debbie stewart thanks Debbie! I did 70 boys 10-14 on about $3 a box, so my budget was tight but they were full and I hope the children enjoyed them!! :).
I just love it when shoeboxers cram it full of great stuff. Great job.
How generous you are! Wish more people were like this.
The laminated ruler idea is so good! Bless you for doing this!
Sophie Stanley one of my 10-14 boy boxes videos has the link to my file for those rulers :)
I love the ruler that you made! All but three of the countries participating in OCC use the metric system so I was glad to see your rulers had both.
Thanks. I live in Canada and this is what all of our rulers look like :)
So organized! Awesome job!
Those boys are going to love their boxes! Well done :)
Your boxes are amazing! Very well thought out and lots of quality items👍

Love your shoebox stash😆
Olivia Elliott thanks Olivia!

Mel B a great idea! I’m Canadian so we don’t have Dollar General but I have been in one from time to time when stateside shopping :).
Great video, great ideas for others. Love that you use good quality items. Do you have any videos on how you fit so many things in a shoe box?

@@chantellek3982 oh great! Thank you so much.
Good assortment of stuff, how many boxes are you packing?
Tamera Shields I was wondering that as well!
@@jenniferlynn0112 the mystery number??? Play guess how many boxes.
Haha. I believe I packed 70 boys 10-14 and 30 boys 2-4 that year :). I usually have enough random things that I make a couple girl boxes too.
Wow!! Thank you so much for sharing. That is amazing!! I'm wondering how long it took you to get your stock?? I love how you have everything set up. Any tips or tricks for us who are living on a fixed budget?

Oh, and I started after Christmas- and gathered things until post-Halloween.
Awesome ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Awesome setup! 👍
Thanks! I organized myself this year and found it so much more enjoyable, as I knew I wouldn't run out :D Check out my Boy 2-4 setup too!

Amanda Murphy check out my other videos! :)
How many boxes do you do in a year? That is incredible!! I will have to keep in mind that 10-14 age range is not as popular.
70 in this age/gender :).
Do you collect items all year?? Can you make a video on that? 😊😊
Emily89 do you mean explain where I got the items? And yes, I collect all year. I live in Canada - so I don’t get as steep of sales as many American Shoebox shoppers ;)
