The 1.5 Turbo on the eclipse cross has 184 lb-ft of torque to the RVR's 167 lb-ft. Torque is a much more important stat, especially with a CVT.

I agree, torque is very important as well!

I like the RVR better too... great acceleration, super responsive, no turbo lag.

I have to say turbo kicks in around 1800 rpm’s so no turbo lag I do own both

    hi,,i'm from indonesia
    i have both of them
in indonesia we call it outlander sport
but unfortunately, it's discontinued since early 2021. in indonesia we only have the pre facelift outlander sport which look similar to evo 9. i sold my outlander sport about 6 months ago
now i owned eclipse cross, but in indonesia, we only have the pre facelift eclipse cross with separated rear glass window.
overall.. i like both of mitsubishi outlander sport/rvr/asx and eclipse cross. both are amazing..one thing,,we only have FWD for outlander sport and eclipse cross

Thank you for sharing this! Very interesting to see how there are different models, specs etc. in different markets.

Driven both extensively due to being in rental cars a lot. No question the Eclipse is a better ride than the RVR. The 1.5T is down on hp to the 2.4, but the torque is far stronger at low end and pulls harder at city speeds. The Eclipse also feels better tuned in suspension and interior design is more interesting.
Also, Eclipse S-AWC definitely beats the RVR normal AWC.

I just ordered the RVR/ASX, in New Zealand its called ASX VRX 2.4L, It was a toss between these two models, but I just wanted 3 features and the ASX had these. Didnt want to spend anymore than needed.

The outlander sport seems in a weird place with the eclipse cross. I would be surprised if it gets discontinued. Just put that 2.4 in another cross version

in our ountry RVR we call it ASX a small crossover. While eclipse we call it xpander/xpander cross. A 7 seaters MPV multi purpose vehicle. It Selling like hot cake.

В Европе у ASX до рестайлинга был замечательный AWD 2.2 дизель на обычном автомате (не вариатор), очень жаль что его убрали(((
    Мне очень нравилась такая комбинация

Hi Mr. Mitsubishi, here in Portugal, I'm going to receive a eclipse cross Phev Emotion this week. It's a 2.4cc with 163hp, has an autonomy of 55 km in eletric mode. It's a bit heavy, almost 2 tones. Until then they were made and Come from Japan, but in the future at least in europe, they Will be made in partnership with group Stellantis in europe fabrics. Hope they dont loose identity.

We won't get Eclipse Cross PHEV here in Canada (only the Outlander). You're lucky! I'm sure you'll love it! I think Mitsubishi will be able to keep their DNA!

I have a 2023 Eclipse Cross , like the car a lot but has a few quirks that are normal I’ve been told or they don’t smell. . 1, when you hit a sharp bump the rpm’s jump up and back down. 2, the idle is uneven when there is a load like head lights on or it’s charging, fluctuates a few rpms, enough to see and hear. 3,Sometimes after a restart or just sitting I can smell like a pcv or something is leaking . No leaks anywhere it has 8000kms on it an oily mild exhaust smell . If I handle the small hose going to the valve cover , my hands smell the same like it’s permeating the hose. 4, squeaks from the hatch , styrofoam rubbing when it’s cold I’ve taken everything out , still did it lol . Any ideas or similarities of what’s normal, what’s not. Dealer said the fluctuations in idle normal another ec did the same . Was also told bye mech the rev spike is normal hitting a sharp bump. Also, they couldn’t smell anything 😂

The EC seats look narrow compared to the Sport and the EC comes off actually looking smaller inside.

So these are not same trim levels. But if we compare a fully loaded RVR to a fully loaded Eclipse Cross, here is the difference in MSRP, including freight and PDI, Canadian market: RVR GT: $37,318 VS Eclipse Cross GT: $39,198

Which one be good for a teen driver?

    • @mr.mitsubishi
      @mr.mitsubishi  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Both are great! RVR is a bit smaller, maybe easier to maneuver in the city. Eclipse Cross is more modern looking. For a teen, Eclipse Cross probably would be more appealing.
