  • Went to the flea market a couple weeks ago and found a bunch of different people selling military surplus equipment. I bought pretty much everything.

I brain farted a bit when making this vid and misquoted a couple prices. What's written in the video is more accurate. Also I am totally aware my speech mannerisms and pause patterns are a bit unbecoming, especially in longer videos such as this. To avoid growing bored with my long pauses and lazy sentence structure feel free to turn up the video speed a bit, 1.25 speed actually sounds like a normal person talking. Just don't forget to set it back to normal before the end. Thanks for watching and have a good one!

Legit. 991st is a Transport brigade and generally "TC" stood for Truck Commander for us so it looks like the packing list for the box that sat in the back of a 5 Ton or something. A Neck Gator is one those "neck socks" that you can slip over your head and let it rest on your neck. If you get cold you can put it up over your ears. They were big in the early 2000s. As to the guy, he was an E-4 Specialist that probably rode with their truck commander (SGT or higher) and took care of that box. Good find brother!

Forget the poor camera work etc, see those knives made it all worth while. Well done on those bargains. All the best from across the pond. 👍🏻👊🏻

@Karlos Fandango Thanks for the positive comments, they are much appreciated! Since making this vid I've put the Glock to very good use and I keep the smaller KBAR in a mini survival pack I setup for short trips. After using it to assemble most of a natural lean-to I've really grown to like the Glock a lot. The blade is very thick and heavy duty compared to other knives of similar value and the saw works surprisingly well.

I must admit, I have always wanted a K-Bar USMC knife. I can but them over here in the UK but they’re around £95-£100, ($118-$125) brand new. I have my eye on a Schrade Frontier 52 Micarta at £71, ($88). Although they don’t differ greatly in price, the Shrade would be a more Ora table and usable knife. Glad to hear you’re using the knives though mate. I’m Ex Army of 23yrs but I don’t go in for the surplus gear very much. Some of it is really good and some not. It does wear well though due to being tough and generally well made. Take care over there and stay safe dude.

That's some pretty cool stuff man! Nice finds. That would of been something else if the list of items was actually in the box.

Really good haul. Either the Kbar or the Glock will be a big improvement over your old knife.

Nice haul bro!!! By the way, my old phone died, and I lost your email. Send me one so I have it please. The smaller KBar is a pilot's knife. Somewhere on the mess kit you'll find a date stamped in it, if it is military. I knew we had more in common than the Trailduster...

@George Mcmillan Yeah man I've seen the old pilots survival knife before and couldn't help but notice it was almost identical. I also just gave the mess kit a good once over and it's in pretty rough shape but I don't see any dates or US markings so it is likely a reproduction. The only marking I see is 3396 and it looks like someone scratched it in with something sharp.
